Jimothy Posted 19 April 2015 Posted 19 April 2015 I thought the invisible was TPH TBH. He has a fairly uncompromising posting style but I haven't seen him post anything extreme, offensive or particularly personal except in mild retaliation. I think people's problem is his style. Look at his last post. Claiming he set the agenda for the day's discussion. Firstly I don't think he did bring up immigration today, but secondly, we don't really have days of discussing one thing here, we kind of let it flow, they're no agenda for the days, it's an Internet forum it's informal discussion. Then claiming the right won the argument, when he's very obviously a right wing poster himself. It's like asking Michael Gove who won the debate the other week when he appeared on QT, he's hardly going to say Milliband is he. Add that to the God awful blog he keeps plugging ( I don't care who you're voting for you gotta admit that blog is pretty shocking) and his stupid claims of awards, he's actually preventing what is usually a good discussion on here between the likes of you, Matt, Alf, Bilo etc.
Guest Bilo Posted 19 April 2015 Posted 19 April 2015 I like the 2-0 victory part.. Bit like Chairman Mao claiming victory in an election. Regardless of how many times he goes to sleep weeping into his Thatcher autobiography after being demolished, again, by the posters he decries as lefties, he'll still claim a 20-0 victory for the right on May 7th.
Rincewind Posted 19 April 2015 Posted 19 April 2015 I think winning an award from a panel of right wing judges where the other entrant was a Green supporter is no big deal.

MooseBreath Posted 19 April 2015 Posted 19 April 2015 You honestly think those awards exist?! It's a very curious, eclectic set of awards. From the saff working mens club to being awarded for honesty in nuts magazine. I think he's probably trolling on that.

I think he's probably trolling on that. I'm reasonably confident that Nuts were more about tits and beer in 2010 rather than love for Dave C. The chances of any of those awards even existing is probably nil. Not that I imagine Polly Toynbee crying into her organic nut cutlet at being overlooked for any of them.
Guest Bilo Posted 19 April 2015 Posted 19 April 2015 Why make such a big deal about it being award winning, then? Strange to say the least.
Guest Bilo Posted 19 April 2015 Posted 19 April 2015 Lying isn't advertising. It's just, well, lying. Not that your record with honesty is all that of course. So, not award winning. Complimentary comments on the blog probably written by yourself. Pretty much every assumption you've made about other posters is false. It's not really going well, is it?
Rincewind Posted 19 April 2015 Posted 19 April 2015 Pretty much the entire contents of the blog is a joke too... Was thinking the same.
Guest Bilo Posted 19 April 2015 Posted 19 April 2015 Have I missed something? You have indeed comrade.
Jon the Hat Posted 19 April 2015 Author Posted 19 April 2015 You have indeed comrade. Damn. This is what happens when the me is chilling in Cornwall for a week I suppose.
Guest Bilo Posted 19 April 2015 Posted 19 April 2015 Pretty sure The Swan & Rushes is still open. Good night, gentlemen!
The Doctor Posted 19 April 2015 Posted 19 April 2015 If it was me I'd immediately ban an account that is identified as belonging to a banned poster, if that's too much like hard work change the rules. Not always that easy - you can profile them fairly easily, I've modded another forum for 2 years and you easily start to spot peoples MOs, but confirming them to be a banned dupe is difficult, between proxies, UA emulators and throwaway emails they can hide if they try, and you're left waiting for them to slip up or go through the normal process. Even then, some are like hydra, you kill one account and they come back with 3 more - sometimes it's easier just to let them ramble than go through the constant dupe hunting.
leicsmac Posted 20 April 2015 Posted 20 April 2015 Ye Gods, this thread has been thoroughly Chernobyled. So much land rendered unviewable by the public eye ever again.
Rincewind Posted 20 April 2015 Posted 20 April 2015 I have no problem with someone who is banned returning under another name if they do not carry on in the same way. I was banned on another City forum. I had not been on for over a year and posted in a GC introducing myself again and saying what I had been doing including a link to my blog. When I went to log in the next time I found out that it was locked and the reason a life time ban for spamming. I had not read the forum rules and it was an innocent mistake. No bad language, no abusing others. I tried setting up another account but after emailing the mods apologising I was unbanned. Hardly posted since and I have learned my lesson. It seems Mr Invincible has not.

Can't you just put the guy on ignore? TPH is a really intelligent bloke and the posting styles are very different. That's your best joke of the year so far. Have I missed something? You usually do.

ramboacdc Posted 20 April 2015 Posted 20 April 2015 anyone who postal votes received their ballot yet?
Guest Bilo Posted 20 April 2015 Posted 20 April 2015 I've come home to four election leaflets today. One of which is from the famous Racist Vicar who calls Enoch Powell the best PM we never had........ I laughed an' all.

I laughed an' all. I've only had the top 2 in my area from last time out so far, Labour and Lib Dem. Disappointing.Looking forward to the ones from the parties/independents I've never heard of, they are the ones that usually have at least one brilliant policy and at least one completely absurb/unrealistic policy.
