Time to man up and get rid!

Based on exactly what though? How many other teams have bounced straight back? And I include ourselves in that. Last time we were relegated we didn't return for another ten years...

How many other teams tried to bounce back up with the manager who achieved promotion in the first place? I bet it's not that many.

I bet there is more than you imagine though. Again, look at ourselves. It's a tough division as we all know.

We did with Adams, Wolves with Jones, Megson at WBA, Norwich with Worthington, Palace with Dowie, Watford with Boothroyd, Reading with Coppell, Blackpool with Holloway.

In the last 10-12 years.

Look people we stormed the Championship last year the only other team to have achieved such domination was Reading in 2005 and their first season in the Prem they finished eighth so why wouldn't Nige and his team think we would at least survive without making major changes, unfortunately  it is now glaringly obvious that they underestimated the difference in quality between the two leagues. The game plan I am sure would have been survival year one and progressively build the squad over the next three or four years. The real head scratcher for the owners now is stick or twist, sacking Nige I am sure will have implications regarding financial fair play, and with rumours we are pretty close to investigation anyway may affect any new appointment having access to any significant funds. Our next three games are against really decent sides and Man City could run riot so I cannot see any points from these. I would be sorry to see Nige sacked and as I believe we lack the necessary quality in so many areas it is difficult to see anyone else making any significant improvement so basically this season is f^cked ,I am going to have a drink cheerio!

I just dont think sacking pearson is the answer! im not a pearson lover or hater but what he has done over the last few season is brilliant! Sacking a manager is just to easy.

i just think he was to naive coming into the premiership.... hope he is a very quick learner and can put it right in january transfer window.

Look at allardyce and west ham and the crushing season he had last year, now look where they are.

What sort of players will be attracted to this club in January?

What sort of players will be attracted to this club in January?

Ones playing at a lower level, ones not currently getting games in the premier on loan, ones who want to put themselves in the shop window for a few months.

It's not impossible, but the job will be much harder if we don't pick up some points before Christmas.

I've been too much of an observer on this forum, but this topic in particular has made me want to speak up.

It's times like this that I'm embarrassed to be a football fan. There's no other sport in the world in which fans are so fickle and full of entitlement, particularly in this country. I want to talk about how we'll turn this around, without going nuclear and taking the easy option of booting the manager out.

Be grateful for what you have at this, frankly effing amazing club, instead of asking for the sacking of a man who has brought us back into the big time for the first time in a decade. It's the negative mentality of fans completely baffles me. I challenge you to go out there and perform at your optimum ability, knowing there are fans out there with no faith in you, waiting for you to slip up just so they can say they were right (and please don't come here saying "I wouldn't care if I was getting paid what they were).

We have just been promoted. We have spent very little on players, and we have retained almost all of a very close-knit group of players; all of which seem to back Pearson. We have a chairman willing to invest time and money into creating a well run football club, and we finally, FINALLY have stability. A few years ago, these are things I could only dream of.

It doesn't take much to begin undoing all of the good things we have.

Give the manager and the players time to right the wrongs, and be happy you were one of the people who knew we could turn it round.

Right, I'll return to the shadows…

Well said
