cityfanlee23 Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 With Pearsons job being questions by the media, as well as fans, It would be interesting to see how our fans would set up tonight, and to see how it differs from Big Nige come kick off...This is one of the biggest games in pearsons career, and one that needs a dramatically improved performance on the last 8 games.I'd go with a 4-2-3-1 tonight. HAMERRDL WES MOORE KONCHESKY JAMES DRINKWATERMAHREZ KNOCKAERT ALBRIGHTON VARDYMost fans think that they could do a better job, How would YOU set up?EDIT: Having read people's thoughts I've changed my tactic well done to my back room staff. 2-1 Vardy with a brace.

It really isn't Villa, perhaps, tonight a point is a good result a loss can be lived with, their playing Champions League football.

Great contribution thank-you. Personally think it's a MASSIVE game for Nigel. Show no improvement and concede a shed load and I'll be disappointed on their form, they look very weak at present.

No problem, not really one for naming pointless teams that will never be selected, I'd hop on FM if I wanted to do that, prefer to live in the real world, Their form? They look weak? Have you seen the form table?
Fox Ulike Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 if I were manager I would admit that I can't handle big names and sack myself before the game.

cityfanlee23 Posted 2 December 2014 Author Posted 2 December 2014 Isn't that a diamond? Yes, I like the diamond, think it could work for us, Not sure on the 4-4-2 in the premiership.. It's improved us no doubt since we switched but It's not the answer for me, If we can get our players to actually stick to their job and contribute it would work well.. RDL - Only attack when necessary or atleast look half interested to get back Cambiasso - Move the team forward and become a Leader in the midfield, stop letting opposition numbers just drift past you like you're not there, Join the attacks when neccesary but prime job is to win the ball and cover infront of the defence. Wingers - Get up and down that byline attacking AND DEFENDING covering your fullback CAM - Drop into cm to receive the ball then push forward in possesion Strikers - one play off the other but try to stay forward if possible and not get sucked back everytime we lose the ball.. Seeing ulloa working back to defend is fantastic, but it shows me a lack of trust on the rest of the team, everytime we lose the ball he's dropping back to try and help the defence, Saw him right on the byline on saturday doing konchesky and schlupps job, That's not his priority. Get the team to believe in themselves and show the same grit and determination to win EVERY ball they can whenever it's free and maybe we will have a chance... Right now we are going down without a wimper.

Hamer Moore Morgan Was Simpson Schlupp James Cambiasso Drinkwater Mahrez Vardy Be interesting to see mahrez in that role, he likes to drift into the centre
Manwell Pablo Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 They are VERY vulnerable. Be interesting to see mahrez in that role, he likes to drift into the centre Thanks for the in depth analysis Hansen. If they're vulnerable I dunno what that makes us.
Fox92 Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 Hamer Simpson -- Morgan -- Moore/Was -- Konchesky Albrighton -- Drinkwater/James -- Cambiasso -- Mahrez Ulloa -- Vardy (just off given how much possession Liverpool like to have)
Ashley Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 4-3-3 like we did against United. We played the diamond. Cambiasso on Rooney just like he will be on coutinaho(sp?) Tonight and Nugent sat on Blind(more than likely will be tonight).
cityfanlee23 Posted 2 December 2014 Author Posted 2 December 2014 Thanks for the in depth analysis Hansen. If they're vulnerable I dunno what that makes us. Around where we expected to be. Only difference being I'd expected us to atleast fight.
Manwell Pablo Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 Around where we expected to be. Only difference being I'd expected us to atleast fight. I don't think lack of effort is something I'd accuse any of our players of this season so puzzled why you'd say that, it's purely class and experience we are lacking, as well as being shit at defending set pieces. As I say their team cost millions this isn't a huge game tonight, if we take points brilliant but even if we do Saturday is the big for him, bigger if we don't get anything tonight but certainly still huge regardless.
foxfanazer Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 We played the diamond. Cambiasso on Rooney just like he will be on coutinaho(sp?) Tonight and Nugent sat on Blind(more than likely will be tonight). Did we? My bad
LesterGloster Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 I would leave out Ulloa. his contributions of late have been minimal. Wood for me. Hamer was brilliant against Stoke and deserves a run. Hamer De Laet Morgan Moore Schlupp Mahrez James Cambiasso Drinkwater Wood Vardy City 1 Liverpool didn't  Happy Christmas everyone

Bench: Moore, Simpson, Drinkwater, Powell, Knockaert, Wood, Hamer

Well players being consistently out of position and not getting back as they should has been an issue for me... Players in the middle of the park not even contesting for balls they should be... Thought drinkwater would have been our "Roy Keane" he goes into tackles hard and works for the ball but he's been off this season.. Either way it's all opinions, we aren't the same team we were at the start of the year not even close... There are quite a few players not pulling their weight in my eyes. I agree on the financial front, but if we go down without a fight tonight and make more stupid decisions with regard to tactics or subs I really do fear for nigel... Every game we have around 40% possession and the players have been low on confidence, with low confidence and no possession what can we expect other than more defeats? I genuinely believe the majority of our players COULD step up to the mark at this level and with a few quality signings we could be fine. But not unless things change dramatically, get hammered tonight and see how confident we are against Villa. We are a premier league team and should be challenging for EVERY match.. That's not happening right now.

kingcarr21 Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 Did we? My bad According to MOTD we played 4-3-3 against Man Utd Then you look at other sites and they suggest the diamond. It seems Nugent had a free role changing from Striker to CAM. So technically we did both
