Liverpool - Post Match.....

We made them look good and their shit.

We made their sh*t look good too?

Personally, it was just the finishing. Towards the end, if you had walked in after the sending off, I don't think you would have realised one team was down to 10 - until that 3rd goal I still felt we had a chance to equalise.

And if finishing is our problem... get rid of Phillips?

  • 22 Mignolet
  • 19 Manquillo
  • 37 Skrtel
  • 4 Toure
  • 2 Johnson
  • 14 Henderson
  • 21 Lucas
  • 20 Lallana
  • 8 Gerrard
  • 31 Sterling
  • 9 Lambert

Hardly a 'shit' side. I can't see a position we are stronger in tbf... Possibly Ulloa is better than Lambert but other than that....

Morgan to blame for me, still in it at 2-1 was only going be a matter if time before they scored with against 10 men. Linesman was 3 yards away when the idiot pulled his shirt probably do us good to have him banned for 3 games

is it not just one game? thought you only got 3 games now for violent conduct?

All round it was a decent performance even if we didn't get a result. The desire and commitment was there, just lacked that bit of quality other teams have. We have good players just not good enough. Cambi and james were superb and probably the only two prem players we have. Kasper could have come and called for the Ball Morgan headed for the Equalizer. I'm sorry but he's never going to improve. I'd get Marshall in January or give Hamer a run he cannot do any worse.

Cambiaso was a joy to watch with his vision and first time passing. James will learn a lot from him.

I thought Ulloa played with lead in his boots. He only won one header all night. But I do agree he needs to be playing in the centre with two wingers supplying the crosses and 3 in midfield to back him up.

But we all know the first thing is to stop losing Goals especially Silly Goals like last night.

Same problems over and over again. Sloppy defensive errors, failing to stop crosses & looking poor when it comes to the final third.

In all fairness I thought De Laet had a decent game tonight, I thought he would be much worse, but still two goals came from his side again, and that's down to him losing his positioning & others not tracking back quick enough. Schlupp made no attempt to stop the cross for the first goal, while Morgan made a pathetic weak clearance, same can be said on the second goal, then he hacks at a clearance get's it terribly wrong & get's sent off, basic errors over and over again.

Going forward wasn't much better, Ulloa did ok in parts but at times his first touch was woeful, which resulted in losing the ball. We also resulted in hoofing it up the field to Jamie Vardy of all players, you really expect him to win headers against the likes of Skrtel & Toure lol

The wingers weren't much better, thought that was Jeff's worst home game of the season, while Mahrez was bloody diabolical how anybody can defend him after tonight is beyond me, constantly giving the ball away & his first touch was laughable.

Only positives for me were the central midfield pairing, at times they were the only players who looked to do something, terrible miss from Cambiasso but his passing range at times was majestic, James showed a bit of drive & passion in the second half. Apart from that despite us not playing too badly in all fairness, silly defensive mistakes & not enough quality in the final third make us look like nailed on relegation candidates.

Our squad is Championship quality, apart from the exception of Cambiasso, not one signing this season has improved our squad.

Quite right, I total agree with your comments!!!

Well despite the loss there was plenty of positives to take out of it, lets face it we probably even had enough chances to even have gone on to win the game. Certainly was a frustrating evening, Liverpool weren't exactly that great but I'm quite critical of kasper all three goals could have easily been prevented. Nigel as just one game to save his job if can't even get a point then his reign as manager is over  :(

On the positives created the chances but no one there with the quality to bang it in. In the next game i think Leicester need to look to go five at the back, just giving away too many soft goals and need to protect kasper more.

By the way did anyone else find the liverpool support pretty poor, always keep hearing about this wonderful Liverpool support but last night i think Sunderland made a lot more support.

1st is debatable whether he should have come, 3rd was an abysmal cock-up but how can you blame him for the 2nd?

Here is a question, why the fook are penniless Burnley better than us?

It's been done to death on here that you have the better squad. I feel the difference is that we didn't tinker. We went up playing 4-4-2 playing a high pressing game. The only time this season we changed from that was our battering at West Brom.

With the exception of Boyd coming in we are playing the same team, and with Vokes back in the coming weeks I think we will only get stronger.

Our motivation is fuelled by negative comments from the media, and people like Nigel Pearson. Dyche has been torn apart on here for playing the underdog card so much, but in truth it has kept us grounded, as fans too, and we are reaping the benefits at the moment. But as you know, that can change very quickly.

A night of jokes. Cambiasso's miss..because he's Cambiasso he'll probably get away scot free on here. Imagine if it had been Schlupp or Nugent!

Morgan's miskick then his daft sending off

Kasper's terrible handling.

What will be overlooked (of course) is the fact that we had no runners marking Lallana, Gerrard or Henderson..all three, completely unmarked and all three..midfielders...

For all the effort in the world, we look every bit a relegation team. And that was against a Liverpool side absolutely there for the taking.

Cue the usual excuse merchants.

Wow.

How Cambiasso can be the first line of your post again after watching that game I have no idea except now it just looks like an ignorant hate campaign - Did he sleep with your wife or something or is this just a weird attempt to retain some dignity after your Cattermole outburst and dramatic teenage exit to 606?

Let it go Col - it's looking a bit daft now mate.

Cambiasso was the best player in our side yesterday. His touches to create and hold possession were immense - he was the quality that ensured we kept the ball as much as we did and everything good came through or originated from him. Yes he fluffed an opportunity to score but that was a few seconds out of 90 minutes in which I certainly feel he somewhat redeemed himself.

If you've ever played football, he's the sort of player you want on your team as his movement on and off the ball gives everybody more time and calms the side, allowing you to play with more time and composure. Some of his touches and passing in man-on situations were sublime.

We lacked quality/class all over the pitch last night - we can compete in effort/heart fitness and running but that extra notch of quality is lacking amongst at least 70% of our squad sadly if we want to be year in and out mid table contenders. We did however create chances, even with 10 men and that is to the players and managers credit after recent performances.

I still think we can survive, still think we could do some business in January and still think Pearson deserves the season.

Bored of the moaners on here. The very people who said they would give the manager time at the start of the season are now calling for his head. We all want the side to win and are frustrated by results but this notion that we should be winning week in week out is deluded. We aim for 17th in this league and anything else is a bonus. This idea that the bottom eight teams in the Prem are of Championship quality is nonsense - the step-up is exactly that, a step up and we need to get behind the manager and the players in the survival fight.

You think the result was just down to finishing? honestly?

I really wanted us to play the same team as last season and 4-4-2 when we had WBA and Sunderland at home, just to see how they faired.
