ScouseFox Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 9 for nige. Pretty much everything was right. 7s across the whole back 5, we were pretty unlucky to concede. Was was great. Drinky, cambiasso and ulloa get a 6 for not doing anything wrong but nothing special in their time on the pitch. Jeff, Riyad and nuge get an 8. All involved in every thing good we did, two stonking goals too. Mahrez was right unlucky not to score himself. Vardy and Hammond 7 for tireless performances. James an 8, he was fantastic. Single handedly bossed the midfield. Still needs to learn how to shoot though .

ScouseFox Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 Oh and a very kind 1 for the officials and for liverpool. They were both absolutely woeful.
Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 Largely 7's across the back, with Wasyl getting an 8.Drinkwater, Ulloa, Vardy and Cambiasso 6's.Hammond 7.James, Schlupp, Nuge and Mahrez 8's.If anyone gives Mike Jones more than a 1 I will be bemused.
Dickov22 Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 Hamer 6 De Laet 7- Prefer him there to Konchesky. Got forward well Wasiewski 7- Couple of dodgy clearances first half and I was worried after his booking but he has a good game Wes 7- Desperately unlucky with the pen. I thought he slipped rather than deliberately slid as some have suggested in another thread. Played well Simpson 7.5 Pick of the back 4 for me. Mahrez 9 MOTM. Glides past players with ease. Should have scored. Fantastic game James 7 Better in the second half. Frustrating corners though DD N/A Hammond 6 Got some important tackles in but looked a little rusty in possession. I do like having him in the side though Schlupp 8 Amazing what a run of games and confidence can do. Fantastic Vardy 6 Tireless running. Great assist. Was isolated until Nugent came on Nugent 8 Great link man, great goal, huge effort the whole game Subs Cambiasso 7- How can Scouse fox he didn't do anything of note? Sublime ball with the outside of his boot that created a chance for us plus a very good header late on in the game when we were under the cosh- it was a certain chance for the Liverpool player but Cambiasso got up fantastically well and headed it out from a corner. He's actually really good in the air Ulloa 6 Didn't have time to make much of an impact but worked hard I thought we were the better side for the whole game. Great stuff
Dan Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 Won't do a vote as it's hard to really gauge from a stream. Mahrez & Schlupp both deserve at least 8 though and the ref shouldn't get above 1.
Sylvie85 Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 Interesting how different people saw the game. Thought everyone did well. Thought Matty James was outstanding..... Again. Thought Nuge was excellent. Schlupp and Mahrez offered a lot.
BigWesMorgan Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 Hamer - 7 RDL - 7 Was - 8 Wes - 7 Simpson - 7 Schlupp - 8 Drinkwater - N/A James - 6.5 Hammond - 6.5 Mahrez - 9 Vardy - 6 Nugent - 8 Ulloa - 6 Cambiasso - 6
Danizen Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 Can I describe the ref's performance as 'Shocking' if it didn't actually shock me (I'm well aware of Mike Jones' deficiencies )?
ADK Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 Pearson 9 - Got everything right really including the reaction to the penalties. How anyone could want him sacked after the last 5 matches I don't know. Hamer 7 - Thought his goalkeeping was good today, positioning was spot on and came and dealt with crosses. Put a few kicks straight out but that's not the most important part of goalkeeping. Couldn't have done anything about either pen. De Laet 6 - Was ok, didn't think they tested him much. Morgan 6 - Solid and kept his head after the "penalty". Wasilevski 6 - Solid as usual. Simpson 6 - Solid again. Schlupp 8 - Excellent again. Drinkwater 6 - Not on long enough to assess properly. James 6 - Average, not really sold on James, he's a live body but doesn't really excel in any area and his set pieces are consistently poor. Hammond 6 - Does a job for us. Mahrez 7 - Had a positive impact as usual but also played us into trouble too often, missed a good chance. Vardy 6 - Still struggles to find an end product but did chest the ball perfectly for Nugent. Nugent 9 - Did everything right today, reliable in possession, scored a world class goal, managed the game at the end and put the opposition under pressure Cambiasso 6 - Tries too many holywood passes, almost reminded me of Wellens at times but defended well. Ulloa 6 - Won a few free kicks. Looked lethargic. All in all we played well, Nugent and Schlupp were game changers but nobody was worse than average. Liverpool 6 - They create a fair few openings but don't finish them. Really switched off to allow us back into it. Ref 1 - Awarded two penalties that weren't.
One Legged Beaver Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 Ref 8, thought he had an almost faultless performance
Kitchandro Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 Hammond looked so poor next to several very solid/impressive performances today. He is a massive weak link with his poor passing and his insistence on slowing the play down. Drinkwater looked off the pace as well before he came off, but everyone else can be pleased with their performance overall. Schlupp continued somewhat of a personal resurgence with an effective match and Nugent so much more motivated, presumably because he is a Scouser. Our defending clearly needs work but with us dominating the game the pressure on it was limited. I won't even comment on the referee, I'll just say this was a match we deserved to win and those 2 points could be very costly come May.
kingfox Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 After managing to watch the game twice... Hamer 6 - Not much to do in terms of saving shots, few shit kicks again though Simpson 6 - Got caught in trouble a couple of times, but some well timed interceptions in the second half Morgan 7 - Was hardly troubled, fairly solid & didn't let the penalty affect him Wasilewski 6 - Some dodgy clearances at times, but like Wes a fairly solid afternoon De Laet 6 - Nothing much came from their right side, hardly troubled Mahrez 8 - Everytime he got the ball he looked dangerous, maybe should of scored but can't fault his work James 8 - Very impressed, was running everywhere, some brilliant tracking back & some brilliant closing down Hammond 7 - Few over hit passes, but he pressured the Liverpool midfield & made some good tackles Drinkwater 5 - Can say he wasn't on long enough, but I thought he looked poor from the get go Schlupp 8 - Worked his socks off, troubled Can endless times, and a nice solid strike to cap off another good performance Vardy 6 - Worked hard again, but got in some good positions & wasted a few opportunities Subs Nugent 9 - His goal, his pressuring, his link up play was just brilliant absolutely brilliant Cambiasso 6 - Few won headers, especially a well timed one towards the end Ulloa - N/A
Bamba's Babes Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 10 - 9 - 8 - Mahrez, Schlupp, James, Pearson 7 - Hamer, RDL, Simpson, Nugent 6 - Liverpool, Was, Morgan, Vardy 5 - Hammond, Drinkwater, Ulloa, Cambiasso 4 - 3 - 2 - Referee 1 -
Guest ttfn Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 Hamer - 7 RDL - 7 Was - 8 Wes - 7 Simpson - 7 Schlupp - 8 Drinkwater - N/A James - 6.5 Hammond - 6.5 Mahrez - 9 Vardy - 6 Nugent - 8 Ulloa - 6 Cambiasso - 6 Probably go along with this, Mahrez gets an 8 from me - Nugent MOTM
Rasmic123 Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 nugent motm? dont make me laugh. he scored a good goal but before that he was useless and he werent much better after the goal. schlupp was comfortably the best player on the pitch today

He looked a bit off the pace early on but that's understandable given his lack of games. He grew into the game and won tackle after tackle disrupting Liverpool's play. He played a very important role today. He isn't in the team for his attacking play or even his passing. He's in the team as a stopper and he did his job today
Dickov22 Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 nugent motm? dont make me laugh. he scored a good goal but before that he was useless and he werent much better after the goal. schlupp was comfortably the best player on the pitch today I agree Schlupp was better but Nugent was fantastic today start to finish. Tireless effort, linked the play up well, created chances, helped Vardy not be so utterly isolated as he was first half. Best I've seen Nugent play all season probably

Sometimes a vendetta can get in the way of seeing the real value of a player in our performance yesterday. I lost count of the number of times he intercepted a pass, harassed one of Liverpool's attacking trio, won the ball off Liverpool players and actually helped us get the ball going in an attacking sense. What an embarrassing thing to write. Anyone who thought Hammond looked poor yesterday can do one. Adds another good performance to his others this season.
ScouseFox Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Hammond gave the ball away about 5 times in the first 10 minutes but after that was very good. The only issue was that occasionally I don't think he (or any of our team) could work out if he should stick closer to Coutinho or sterling more often than not. Some of his tackles on the latter before he could turn and run at was/wes (which would obviously have been a disaster) were very important.
Leicesterpool Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Most of the squad I gave a six most all had a good day, sadly I gave Wes a four i felt he was quite clumsy at times. Schlupp was my MOTM earned himself a nine, Nuge gets second place with an eight.
Dan Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 We seem to press, and play a hell of a lot better when Nugent/Hammond play.
Bamba's Babes Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 The pressure on the ball was fantastic throughout. Vardy and Ulloa do it well so I wouldn't necessarily attribute that tactic to Nugent's presence, it's more to do with the midfield playing higher.
