Nope not on holiday ..  but will be next month ! ..  and will still be wearing mi old orange shorts !    
 

Haven’t posted for ages as very busy and spending too much time staring at a phone ! ..  but just for you Muzzett I’ve come out of retirement and replied !    Maybe see you at the Shambles one day if you still get back to Lutterworth. 
 

But in the meantime ..  as a nod to the usual bolox that I used to post ..  here’s a dingbat !..  and the answer will be in tomorrow’s Leicester Mercury (took me about 2 minutes)  TW   I think they got fed up with me slagging off their feeble attempts so have improved the quality a bit .. 

 

Anyway have a great Christmas matey ..  and the same to all you other FT’ers !!

I’ve booked a Riad to stay in with breakfast and evening meal included, going solo I didn’t want to be trekking the medina late at night. Looking at hot air balloon ride, and going a bit further afield to Casablanca and into the mountains

Any tips for less touristy islands in Greece? Going with friends in October and haven’t yet decided which island. Looked at Naxos, Paris and Sifnos.

Avoid santorini and Mykonos like the plague. Places like dubai and cancun are cultural havens compared to those cesspits

I’ve been to Santorini before. It’s nice enough but I probably wouldn’t go back because the beaches are shit there.

 

I want somewhere where we can get a villa on the beach, a handful of bars/tavernas close by and I’ll be happy.

When I lived in Sofia we used to go each summer to Skopelos. Quite different from a lot of Greek islands, a bit lusher, beaches not so rocky. Wouldn't say it's non touristy but certainly quieter. It's a bit more family oriented so maybe not the best to go with friends and not sure how reliable the weather will be in October.

In that part of Greece yes it might be a bit inconsistent, but probably not further south. Early October would probably be lovely actually.

Been to Paros and Naxos and both beautiful. I think the beaches in Naxos are probably the best I've seen in Europe.

I was booked for February 2020. Which, wasn't ideal!

Now going for a week in October 2025, tour from Shanghai to Beijing and some other places I can't recall. Probably too late to help you though, I'm sorry.

Yep. It turned out Feb through to Mar 2020 wasn't an ideal time for an Asian cruise!  It ended up as a bit of a mystery tour, as we're were declined in a few ports. We were very fortunate the UAE had closed ports but gave us special dispensation to dock, disembark and get home. And, a few days later the UK was in lockdown! 

 

It's booked but we've not organised it. It's booked with imagine cruising. A 7 night tour from Shanghai, Xian for the bullet train and then to Beijing. Fly to Hong Kong, sail to Vietnam and Singapore. Fly to Delhi for a 7 night tour in India ( also supposed to visit there in Feb 2020 too 🙄).

I won’t even consider China as a transit option. Seen enough reviews of their airlines to conclude I’d not fare well with the queues, orders and searches.

Yep a number of issues indeed... but planning one flight in..... some time in GH then... bullet train to HK and fly out of there.

My last USA  trip was a nightmare for queus checks etc so... tomato-tomato
