cityfanlee23 Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 Big performance today hopefully. Prove me wrong shinji, January is looming.
JAPANFOX1 Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 Keep him no matter how shite he is..... because of him I get to watch every city game live on TV in Japan.... Sell Shinji and my chosen match of the week goes back to being Chelski and Man City.......

Will do JAPANFOX ... and by the way he's not shite and some of us actually like him and see what he does for the team.
MooseBreath Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 Wouldn't be surprised if Okazaki doesn't start today. Ulloa has done enough to deserve a chance from the start in a game like today where we shouldn't need Okazaki so much.
Banks Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 Vardy got 10+ assists last season didn't he? So he was certainly creative. I also recall a good runs some that should have led to penalties, Chelsea to assist Albrighton comes to mind, and Spurs at home where it was a nailed on pen. So he certainly could go past a man. Vardy was still a threat and adapting all season. Okazaki isn't. beat me to it. Spot on
Len Finsbury Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 Away, I think he'll play Okazaki. He wants his energy and closing down in that area. Ranieri certainly won't want Stoke to gain any confidence by having too much of the ball.

Thracian Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 You're talking about Andy King like he has time proven ability to operate as a "number 10" for a team occupying the champions league places when he simply hasn't. He scored double figures in league one but has rarely scored or looked like scoring in the premier league and nor has he ever stood out in any other aspect of his game at this level. I like Andy King and could see him performing reasonably well in a lower half premier league team but to talk about him as if he has anything like Okazaki's pedigree is plain silly. I like Andy King and could see him performing reasonably well in a lower half premier league team but to talk about him as if he has anything like Okazaki's pedigree is plain silly. He's rarely played an attacking role in Premiership and I remember people saying he wouldn't be this and that at that level when he actually proved an excellent performer and particularly during our status-saving run-in when we came up with a system that made us much more balanced and effective. King, as ever, remained an excellent contributor as he has done even this season with our more elevated status. I'd have to think hard to remember King having as many indifferent games as Shinji in an entire season never mind four months. And certainly not in succession. As for Shinji's "pedigree" I'd like to see him do it justice because it's only been apparent once when I've been watching and I've not missed much. Yes i entirely take the point that Babylon's made about him not playing his most favoured or supposedly effective position. But, just like King before him, he'll be judged in the position he plays because he's certainly not going to be taking Vardy's place anytime soon apart from if the bloke's injured.
Len Finsbury Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 Stoke beating Man City 2 nil ... we play Swansea. I'm watching the Stoke game now. I'll blame it on that!
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 20 December 2015 Posted 20 December 2015 I know people won't like this seeing as he scored the goal and won the penalty but I thought his all-round play yesterday was pretty awful. Seems to have a real inability to stay on his feet (think there was only one or two times yesterday where the ball went in to him and he didn't end up on his arse) and his ball retention was terrible at times (including at times when we really needed him to just hold the ball in order to relieve some pressure). First half Vardy was pretty much playing up front by himself and we had to switch from aiming our kicks to Shinji to sending them Vardy's way because Okazaki was winning nothing, often just jumping a couple of seconds too soon meaning that he was on his way down from his jump as the ball arrived. I admire his spirit and enthusiasm, and I get the fact that he's a hard worker, but I'm yet to be really convinced that he can hack it at this level. For me, someone to go alongside Vardy is of paramount importance for us in January and, for all he doesn't set the world alight at times, I much prefer Ulloa to Shinji.
HighPeakFox Posted 20 December 2015 Posted 20 December 2015 I certainly think he was dreadful first half, but then again most of them were
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 20 December 2015 Posted 20 December 2015 Pleased for him to get a goal, hopefully that will boost his confidence further. Decent finish too after a good assist from Vardy.
Foxile Posted 20 December 2015 Posted 20 December 2015 Pleased for him to get a goal, hopefully that will boost his confidence further. Decent finish too after a good assist from Vardy. Agreed. Hopefully this kick-starts his season.
Bamba's Babes Posted 20 December 2015 Posted 20 December 2015 Very poor performance but he was involved in two key moments. A new striker/#10 in January is essential to any European football ambitions nevermind winning the bladdy league.
NewburyFox Posted 20 December 2015 Posted 20 December 2015 He was pretty rubbish yesterday apart from his usual pressing, however he did really well to win the penalty and then the one time he had to control the ball - for his goal - he did! I agree that a new second striker to play behind Vardy should be the priority for January.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 20 December 2015 Posted 20 December 2015 Agreed. Hopefully this kick-starts his season. I've actually got a feeling he will go on and score a few goals now. But if not now I think he will get more goals throughout the season.
city187 Posted 20 December 2015 Posted 20 December 2015 Very poor performance but he was involved in two key moments. A new striker/#10 in January is essential to any European football ambitions nevermind winning the bladdy league. I thought yesterday was one of his better games for us. Think he gets alot of unfair stick at times but any striker would if your in a team with vardy and mahrez who are in amazing form. Think his workrate alone will get him goals eventually or create chances. I wouldn't go for another striker when we have players here who deserve there chance and why rock the boat now while the spirt and atmosphere of team is like this
Sharpe's Fox Posted 20 December 2015 Posted 20 December 2015 Love me some Shinji hope he carries on playing. First season in the league remember and although he's not scoring as many goals as I'm sure he'd want to he is contributing lots to the team in other ways. A lot like a certain Leicester striker last season, maybe?
filbertway Posted 20 December 2015 Posted 20 December 2015 Took his goal really well, the touch and finish shows why he managed to bag for a Mainz on a fairly regular basis. Still think we need a new player to play the role he is being asked to play though. You watch how Deeney plays for Watford, I think with him we'd be even more dangerous going forwards than we are now. He holds the ball up brilliantly and is able to pick out a quick lay off. At times Okazaki looks like he's playing in a lads v dads end of season match, bouncing off players and losing the ball easily. As I say, in the box he looked dangerous and got us 2 goals on the few occasions he was on the ball in there. But you can't tell me that there's not a lot better available out there, more suited to the role we're asking him to play.
MooseBreath Posted 20 December 2015 Posted 20 December 2015 Missed the first 15 minutes when it sounds like he wasn't very good but for the rest of the match I thought he was generally decent, won the penalty and scored a good goal.
CharlieCharles Posted 20 December 2015 Posted 20 December 2015 Its rare someone who scored and won a penalty can play so poorly. His first touch is woeful. Hoping the goal will give him confidence, good opportunity for him to score next saturday against a poor defence.
Crazy Kop Corner Posted 20 December 2015 Posted 20 December 2015 I really didn't think he played well yesterday but getting a penalty and scoring a really well take goal more than justifies his place in the team.
TheSomersetFox Posted 20 December 2015 Posted 20 December 2015 people were on Shinji's back for running about a lot with no end product, gets a goal and an assist and people start accusing him of the opposite. love you shinji
Ozwin Posted 20 December 2015 Posted 20 December 2015 Looks like an absolute hoot to be around and looks like everyone loves him. I'd rather someone like that than someone who thinks they're top dog creating divides.
