Congratulations? But if you can't spot when someone's joking then you still may as well kill yourself imvho.

If that is your very honest opinion you are very morbid and I hope your views don't get you in trouble.

Firstly reading a comment doesn't really show humour, and secondly your a ****, if you think that's humour, then you have something wrong with you.

Was going to write so much more, but I'm not going to lower myself to a scum bag like you

What was the thread title I can only assume it has been changed?

Work permit refusal.  Tbf it's good he changed it so nobody mistakes it for another article about the work permit issue and merges it with the Kramaric thread. Now we are free to discuss the matter in an adult fashion.  Imo.

i love how amateur we all are when it comes to work permits and big money signings because we're used to buying people like robbie neilson and gary taylor fletcher

there is 2 interesting comments in this report

1. One of the key recommendations of FA chairman Greg Dyke’s commission on English football, presented in the summer, was a limit on the number of non-European Union players in the English game - action which, it was claimed, would increase the number of England-qualified footballers, thereby improving the national team in the aftermath of a winless World Cup in Brazil.

The fact that the likes of the big teams are all plastered with non eu players and if there is a limit on a total number on players outside the eu allowed in the Prem how come this total is not spread evenly throughout the 20 teams in the league

2. Football's cynics will suggest that if it were Jose Mourinho sitting in front of the panel instead of Nigel Pearson, the chances of gaining a work permit would be greatly enhanced.

How true is this!!!!!!! the FA is all about the so called big teams in the Prem and don't care about the smaller teams that are not fighting for the Championship/European positions.

Thee first point you made there is so true. It would be unfair to have a limit because then all the big teams would buy non eu players leaving us with a limited number to select from

With Croatians having freedom of movement from July I doubt they will find any reason to deny him a permit! If he was African or Asian then would be difficult!

According to my hasty research (since the 1st July 2015 keeps getting thrown about) it's only 2015 for certain EU states. For the UK it's 1st July 2018

well if Croatians had full freedom of movement then this would not be an issue what so ever and there would not be any talk of him needing a work permit!

Yes Croatia have now joined the EU but because they joined after a certain date it means that work permits are required.

Plus if you go on the link from my previous post it explains that he does not currently meet all criteria to receive the work permit with no issues this is why there is a hearing next week

There have been numerous cases of players being denied work permits for various reasons. I recall we had an African lad lined up a few years back and couldn't get a permit and a Japanese player though can't recall their names. Que sera sera re Kramaric but I think we have a much stronger case this time around as he has played international football and the club seems confident it will go through although pre General Election, there will be a lot of tory pressure to keep the overall numbers down so they may be taking a harder line in general.
