Went to worth a shot at the back of Aldi Hamilton last night.

Really good food, nice place but the service was slow

Do you mean What A Shot? I had a similar experience there. Decent food but slow service.

Went to Wild Tango in Leicester last night. Probably the best food I’ve ever had in the city. Great service too that isn’t overbearing.

Never heard of this, is it new? Expensive?

150 quid for two people, three courses each and a shared bottle of wine. It is of this year, think maybe opened in the spring.

The chef/owner is Argentine. I went the first week it opened earlier on in the year, excellent food but the service was very green so they’d have sorted that by now.

Tried the Wyvern/Gurkha curry yday. Pretty decent

Yeah I thought it was pretty good when I went a year back. Obv a bit rough inside but the food was all tasty. Had some kind of Nepalese fish curry in there which was arguably the best curry I've ever had. Need to go back!

I had the Himalayan prawn curry, which I guess is what you were referring to, and yeh it’s good. Methi chicken was good too. Whilst I’m in Leicester over Xmas will get Durham ox done. It’s the same bloke who runs both kitchens

Just had a look online and think it was this one actually:

My mum's birthday is coming up and she is moving back to Leicester- first family member to live again in Leicester in 15 odd years.

Any decent family friendly restaurants that can be recommended particularly Indian restaurants?

Whisper it but Las Vegas chips were class the other night, have they changed their ways from simply keeping food wet and in buckets? Who am I to say

Really good place imo but I’ve been banned for life from there 3 times unfortunately. The last time about 10 years when we were all hammered and causing a ruck at 3pm. Kicked us out saying we’re ‘12 hours too early for this nonsense’

Yeah I got in trouble once after Jimmy /  TJ's closed down the road (GOATed) and said it will never be as good as there, the bloke said GET A YOU FOOD ANNA GET OUT. Went back month's later, drunkenly apologised and shook hands over the counter, was a bit like when North and South Korea peacefully crossed the line in the DMZ

Tried little club on Anstey lane, standard fare but genuinely exceptional service.

Yeah I think that's why I like it so much. Staff are sound and it's a good atmosphere in there. I was on the John Smiths in there the other night! Always rate their lamb chops and crispy aubergine (best in Leicester for me). Would you say the food was better at Wyvern?

Tbh with the meat dishes, I can’t tell

the difference between these pubs. It’s all greasy, oily and nice. Veg dishes were better at little club though.

You sound like you know what you’re doing, have you tried Tamil prince, Tamil crown and ambassadors clubhouse in London?

Has anyone ever eaten there while sober?

I tried the Tamil Prince a few months ago and Brigadiers in the City more recently. I liked Tamil Prince, and their curries were no doubt better than your standard stuff (albeit on the small side), however I’m more into my starters/sides and thought there wasn’t much on that front. Brigadiers was tasty but a complete rip off. A butter chicken was £28. I mean, its butter chicken, there’s only so much you can do with it! I suppose most people there are on corporate expenses so they can get away with it. I’m not a huge fan of Zone 1 restaurants in London in general. Cash cows, chasing trends, hyped up on social media, and everyone books them miles in advance.

My favourite Indian I’ve been to in London is the Regency Club in Queensbury. Definitely worth checking out! My favourite place to eat in London is Green Lanes for Turkish food, that’s the vibe I’m all about!

Ok fair enough, we are after different things lol. I like brigadiers as the menu changes a lot, it is isn't overly Punjabi and quite innovative. But only ever been work-related so never taken notice of prices. I tend to like zone 1 restaurants due to those reasons and the kitchen will be good enough for you to go off-menu. The Harrow fare such as regency, blue ginger and namaste lounge are too much for me. Too many Londoners supporting Man Utd driving BMWs on finance showing off to each other. Hate the crowd.

I have never been to one of these Desi pubs but feel they will be so OTT Punjabi I won't be able to handle it without throwing up. Maybe one day.

Indigo was the ultimate for me, shame it shut down.

Yeah all completely fair. I prefer the Leicester places to the Birmingham Punjabi places. I’d happily eat at Brigadiers on corporate expenses 😂
