with all this capital letters stuff .our own fans cant use full stops.here is a fact about grammar

How many of them were arrogant, stubborn, sit in the stand, Stringer hating, shit trainer wearing negative jokers like Pearson though?

yep .... but how managers have failed where Pearson succeeded ...?? A lot during the 36 years ...

An attention span and sense of perspective seem to be things consigned to a bygone erase though judging by FT and some of the people near me at game.

Still waiting for the OP to deliver the facts promised in the thread title.

the answer was spot on what  bovril said ..2 managers gordon milne 1983/84 went down 1986/87 season (4 seasons).

Martin O'Neil 1996/97 left for celtic after 1999/00 finished (4 seasons)

the other managers who took us to the top flight but only lasted a season are ...

Jock Wallace 1980/81 season

Brian Little 1994/95 season left for Villa during season

Micky Adams  2003/04 season

So my point is...... so far Nigel Pearson is the 3rd best manger we have had in 36 years .

Give him some respect, we are not down yet ......

We spent FA under BL and MA. Draper was our only decent player under BL, I actually think MA did a pretty good job given his budget.

NP has been backed to a far greater extent than the others (Sven and peter Taylor spring to mind as the managers who waste cash) so I'd expect him to make a better fist of staying up than the others.

As for O'Neil what he did was nothing short of incredible.

We really should have stayed up under Adams.

We may still stay up. Its still in our own hands.

Brian little at the time he got city promoted .not has much money was in the game in 1994 the premier league was only 2-3 years old .now there is.... so compared to other clubs i say the same was spent back then  to now .....

Also Pearson needed to cut wage bill and sell players .to stop us going bust again  ....we could off ended up like Pompy if not ...

But yes  I agree  Adams Done well and almost kept us up ...

and martin O'Neil was the best manger we have ever had at Leicester

Jesus let's not over complicate things. Pearson is a cock. We are going down. We get a new manager or 3 and we eventually get promoted. The manager who gets us promoted is crap we go straight back down. Or he is the new messiah and we stay up for a few seasons and win a league cup. End of!

How many have have had the same backing as Pearson?

The financial situation we have now is the best we've ever had bar none. What O'Neil did won't be seen again.

Pearson is wholly responsible for our revival after our darkest times getting relegated to league one. Two promotions and two close play off semi finals is what he has achieved since 2008. Even ifwe get relegated, I hope we stick with him because he has proven he gets success. I'm confident he can keep us up because he has always turned around bad form. Take 2012/13 our charge towards the play offs vs forest.

People seem to forget how hard it is to get out of league one. Leeds, forest, soton and Norwich spent a few seasons there....all big teams. And we all know how tough the championship is. Sven had all the financial backing, not Pearson, he dismantled an expensive, cocky team and replaced it with a hardworking, energetic and quality squad on the cheap.

And it's not like we have been the shipping boys this season. Far from it, we are 3 points from safety. That's one result for you pessimists.

Question him all you want, but for me he has proven he knows what's he is doing. Don't think anyone could do a better job given the same resources

O'neil is a legend...Pearson is not.

And if we stay in the division and have a cup run?

I still back Matt Gillies has my best city manager...10 years 21 days in the top flight, great buys, great cup runs decent football.

lost his way in 1969, but no disgrace , even if his last season was relegation.

O'Neil next, Bloomfield for his belief and dreams, Weller, Worthington, then Milne for his quiet man loyalty ways, that gave us Lineker, Lynex, and Alan Smith playing together.

Draper was our record signing for the era, so Little was backed.
