Take away speed and work rate what does he have? I love his contribution but injuries and ultimately age will always impact this sort of player.

This is always the shittest argument ever. Why don't we take the two best attributes off every player and see what they have? Take away Costa's finishing and positioning and what do we have (except a ****)? Take away Sterling's pace and skill and we have a player not good enough for our team.

Someone's top 2 assets are obviously their most important and why they're the player they are.

He's got a good few years left in him and his injury earlier in the season hasn't influenced his pace or work rate from what I've seen.

Saying that, Vardy has been playing poor for a while now and no idea why we're playing him right wing or letting him taking corners

Will forever associate him with the greatest game I've ever seen and will likely ever see.

Those two minutes after he put us ahead, don't think I've seen the ground in unison singing Having a Party so loudly and passionately. Joyous.

Positives:

He's having a party

Negatives:

It's taken him a year and counting to organise it....

Do we not think that maybe we aren't playing to his strengths? Just the same as when Ulloa, or Nugent don't play well. I think he's wasted on the wing, admittedly - he hasn't stepped up as well as I thought he might after United. Someone above mentioned that he's not been missing chances, as he's not had many - do you not think that means that we lack creativity? Vardy isn't the sort to create his own chance by skillfully opening the defence up. So we need to play him in behind the defence - but we don't have anybody that can do that well enough, currently.

He's a player that thrives on confidence

Problem is we've got nothing to be confident about, he nearly left at the start of last season because he himself didn't think he was good enough to play football in the championship, it's not really any surprise he's struggling.

Whilst I do agree he is out of his depth. He is being rendered ineffective in most games by our inability to get a passing game going.

Our quick counter attacks we saw against United have been replaced with panicky chips over the top hoping he runs on to it and does something improbable.

His last significant contribution was setting up Nugent against Liverpool, and that was one of the few times he received the ball to feet with his back to goal.

Every other time he is running onto a hopeful ball with no support around him and he isn't good enough to do it all himself.

If someone puts in a ball like De Laet did for him vs United then maybe he will get some more success.

Useful option on the bench if we are looking for a goal, but we have to give him a decent pass.

That's a pretty fair post.

I think our style of football is generally awful this season. If we saw Burnley, QPR, Hull or Villa playing the way we played at Man Utd we would be having them down as certainties for relegation.

embarrassing but I think if you dig out the thread from when he was having probs in the champs that'll be even more humiliating for people.
