He gave me the experience of the greatest ever Leicester City performance.

He was my player of the season one of (maybe the) highest point totals that we've ever accumulated.

He gives 100% every time he plays.

He is our leading goal maker.

He is an expert at pulling defenders out of their positions.

He never moans.

Will forever associate him with the greatest game I've ever seen and will likely ever see.

I will never dislike Vardy and will always thank him for being one of the main catalysts in what personally turned out to be the best season I've ever had following us.

But... we've got to be realistic here. He is so far out of his depth in this league it's unreal. It isn't like he's getting chances and missing. I genuinely cannot remember the last effective contribution he made. He'd be very much back-up for me at the minute. Villa was the final straw. A shit side who were pushing players forward and he still didn't come close.

I'm not even sure it's a lack of confidence anymore. He's trying things but they're lower-league skills. He hasn't got enough skill to beat defenders in this league.

Sad but true.

How fickle.

He will be an excellent loan option to a championship side and then be very useful to us should relegation occur and we need to climb out again in 15/16

I don't doubt for one second he could go back into the Championship and rip it up again. I just think he happens to be one of those players where all of his strong attributes are effective a league below and ineffective in this league. Just the way it works sometimes.

Take away speed and work rate what does he have? I love his contribution but injuries and ultimately age will always impact this sort of player.

Runs his heart out but is out of his depth at this level. Poor first touch and poor game awareness.

He'll be useful in the championship next season.

Whilst I do agree he is out of his depth. He is being rendered ineffective in most games by our inability to get a passing game going.

Our quick counter attacks we saw against United have been replaced with panicky chips over the top hoping he runs on to it and does something improbable.

His last significant contribution was setting up Nugent against Liverpool, and that was one of the few times he received the ball to feet with his back to goal.

Every other time he is running onto a hopeful ball with no support around him and he isn't good enough to do it all himself.

If someone puts in a ball like De Laet did for him vs United then maybe he will get some more success.

Useful option on the bench if we are looking for a goal, but we have to give him a decent pass.

Why play him as a winger when his obvious strengths lie infield, be it using his pace or harrowing defenders/goalie. Sticking him out on the wing makes as much sense as playing King in midfield.

Liverpool away, lovely lay off for Nugent's goal.

However yes he has been in effective and pretty woeful at times, but part of that is down to being played out of position in many games.

Either use him as an impact player from the bench upfront, or don't use him at all.

I don't think anyone has criticised his attitude or commitment, but people have just realised he probably isn't good enough.

It's nothing personal against him.

Bearing in mind his first Championship season - many wanted to get rid then - we do have to be patient. Pace is always effective. And his goal scoring instincts may yet return. He could/should have had a hat trick at QPR and that would have done him and the squad the world of good. The problem is - he really only plays effectively - at this level- on the shoulder of the last defender - being fed with well timed through balls in the space between the defensive line and the keeper, But our inability to play through the midfield and on the floor, means this kind of service is not forthcoming and he rapidly becomes a remote and frustrated figure. Also playing him ion that advanced position forces Ulloa to play further away from the box which reduces his effectiveness. There is no point in playing him out wide - especially when we have good options there . I would use him as an impact sub - with a mission to force late mistakes out of tired defenders.

One way he helped us last season was with winning penalties. What's happened to that contribution?

And what exactly is Kevin Philips doing?
