Favourite memories since supporting City

Too many - sorry about that...

1/ My first away game, against Fulham March 1983. We were seven points adrift of them for promotion and we needed to win. Leicester support was incredible and ITV covered the game. Ian Wilson scored and we won 1-0. Fulham fell apart after that and it went down to the final game of the season. City held an already relegated Burnley to a draw and Fulham lost to Derby during that infamous debacle at the Baseball Ground – which reminds me of….

2/ 1985, City vs Burton Albion in the F.A. Cup Third Round at the Baseball Ground…what could possibly go wrong?

3/ Lineker’s final game for City in which he scored a hat trick against Sunderland. Actually, have I imagined this? It may have been two, and he narrowly missed a third. I recall the Sunderland fans despite the fact that they were already relegated, doing the conga around the East Stand. Lineker’s final game for City was a way to Luton and I watched us lose 4-0 –(that damn green and gold strip again). On his return to Filbert Street we beat Everton 2-1 was it? – which was the equivalent of beating Chelsea today. I remember Bright scoring the winner.

4/ Talking of Sunderland – Stan’s fabled hat trick!

5/ Pontus Kamark completely marking Juninho out of his first Wembley appearance…

Kamark was so good. People forget just how talented that team was, with more luck and a deeper squad we could have made top 6 a couple of times.

For me my earliest memories only really stretch back to 2000 maybe a tad earlier, I vaguely remember my first game agaisnt Coventry in 1998 so for me its:

1) Winning the Worthington cup, possibly still the greatest day of my life along with getting my A-Level results.

2) Beating Coventry in 2003 mainly because my friend and I keep shouting, keeper your laces are untied and thinking we were hilarious. Also we bought shirts in the club shop and we wanted names on the back, the person in the club shop told us we could pick them up at the end of the game but there a fire alarm so we had to wait ages to get them. I just remember it being such a fun day.

3) Playing Red Star in the UEFA Cup, that really really sticks out for me. I am part Serbian as well so its was really exciting. All the flares and the smoke was mesmerising for me.

4) Drawing 2-2 with MK Dons in Milton Keynes. For some reason my Dad and I could only get tickets in the home end, perhaps it was laziness on our part. We left at 2-1 thinking we'd lost, just as we got round to the Leicester fans I head all the fans cheering and some shout penalty. We ran in, I climbed up a pole and saw Max Gradel score a belter of a freekick.

5) The United game, it was amazing five goals agaisnt Man United, I'll never forget it.

My favourite ever moment is in my sig

Silence of the rams

I'm sure that the defender on the line for Walsh's first goal must of had him on as Anytime Scorer that game!

Red Star game was great. Wasn't it about the time of the fuel shortage? I seem to remember us getting a bollocking off my Mum as she had to drive my sister to Uni and we'd used the last of the petrol.

As a 15 year old it was an interesting introduction to the more lunatic fringes of European football.

Showing my age

Millwall 4-1 in 2002, didn't remember that until someone mentioned it. I was 13 and the atmosphere was electric and intensely hostile

Winning promotion against Brighton in 2003

De Vries winner against Spurs in 06

Scoring two goals in a couple of minutes v Bristol Rovers to beat them 2-1 after being total tosh in 2008/09

Gradel v MK Dons

Howard v Leeds

Southend away

Andy King putting us 3-2 up on aggregate against Cardiff in 2010

Bizarrely, the home game against Boro in 2013. I was absolutely bloody frozen but it was such a surreal game, atmosphere and situation

Knockaert v Forest and the 20 minutes that followed

The 2013/14 season

Manchester United in September, minutes 1-96

Liverpool on NYD, the second half of course

Oh so many,

Tony James scoring the goal that saved us from relegation (1 of 2 times I went on the Filbo pitch)

Promotion under Golden Gordon Milne the other time.

Super Stevie Claridge vs Palace

Winning the League Cup at Hillsborough

Villa 4-4 City great come back

City in Europe vs Athletico

3-3 vs Arsenal

Joachims goal at Barnsley

Destroying Derby last season, we were amazing that day.

There's just a few.

My best ever moment, came on the 27th April 1963, when we beat Liverpool 1-0, in the semi-final of the F.A. Cup. Mike Stringfellow ( Beanpole ) out jumped the Liverpool defence to head in a cracking pass. Their goal keeper never saw the ball, which came from outside the box, and at an angle.

I went ballistic, along with the many other thousands of Leicester fans.

I've never heard such a noise at an away game. It seemed like the whole of Leicester was there! Euphoria at it's highest level.

I was their to see the little Irishman do that.

Coming out the ground was a nightmare. I had half a brick land about three feet in front of me, and it bounced to my side hitting a young lad on the legs. I remember the aggressive chanting of the "bovver boot boys", and a hail of beer cans, flying over to my left  through the air.

The bad old days of hooliganism.

Gradel vs MK

Howard Vs Leeds

Forest 2-3

Utd game

They're the best memories from going to games.

Also quite like the fact that if I get to a good age I'm more than likely to be one of the last people on earth to have gone to Filbert Street.

Whenever we played and beat Leeds United. Never liked them much. Also winning the championship and league one. They were special moments I'll always treasure.
