Is Pearson city's 2nd worst ever top flight manager?

Clearly Taylor is worst by some margin, but considering how well we did last season and with the best financial backing of any Leicester manager in history, i would say he is, certainly in my lifetime. I know some will say different, but interested to hear reasons why he may not be?

No way. If you watch the team this season, it's tiresome to say so, but we have played well this season for the most part. It's the final part of our play that has let us down. We create chances and for the most part defend well. Honestly, cannot believe we haven't got more points then we have. In the odd game, Pearson has probably picked the wrong team, but on the whole I don't think he has done too much wrong. Believe the players need to take more of the blame.

No McLintock was worse and compared to income Peter Taylor spent more.

Also looking like we could make a proffit on his 2 major signings unlike Taylor and we lost on everyone he bought.

If you do have to slag Nige off and use finance to do it at least look at the facts Ie incomings to out goings.

Peter Taylor and the then board nearly bankrupted us Pearson won't.

McLintock destroyed what was left of Bloomfield's great team of the 70s. A good manager could have added to that side and had us flying, especially considering that was the season where Forest won the league as a newly promoted side.

As for Peter Taylor, he took a side that O'Neill had carefully constructed over five years and demolished it within 18 months.

Pearson may look out of his depth in the PL; but he's created a legacy, not destroyed one.

A legacy?

How many players are over the age of 30?

How many will we lose when we get relegated?

Mahrez will be off, as will Kramaric, Albrighton I'm sure will be demanding a move.

We have a major rebuild to do for next season.

Have you only be alive for one year. This is incredible considering Holloway, Sven, Sousa, Levein et al

Well then I suppose he will build another legacy. :dunno:

Nowhere near as bad on the whole as Taylor and McLintock.

Its pretty heartbreaking but Pearson is going to go down with the Steve Keans and Billy Davies' of PL management. His record is dreadful and will look worse by the end of the season.

None were top flight managers with us which the OP did specify tbf.

Did Taylor spend £20m? We have never been in such a good position off the field with the backers, stadium, training facility's which only enhances the shocking job nigel has done this season.

Wasn't aware they managed us in premier league?

Yeah my mistake. Didn't read that bit. Still think we are playing better than we were under Adams.

Third to Taylor and McLintock but he's fast catching McLintock.

Babs

Please explain to me why we should stick with him.

What's that got to do with my post or this thread. Reality is, he's not had more financial backing than anyone else. The money in today's game is astronomical compared to what it used to be.

O'Neill or Little or Taylor etc spending a million or two about the same as us spending £10m now.

To spend about £17m in fees is actually pretty low these days when you look at what other promoted teams spend.

It's just another silly thread as its impossible to really compare.

I take it you've forgotten 2008-2009, 2009-2010 and his entire second stint before this season?

We've gone from a set of supporters who idolised Iain Hume and saw Hossein Kaebi as a coup to a team with billionaire backers, no debt and a playing squad that could terrorise the Championship should we go down.

If not for Pearson; we could very easily have gone the way of Coventry City, marooned in the lower reaches of the Football League playing in front of four figure crowds, seemingly never to return.
