Enjoy lads, I went 4 years ago and it was sensational. I'll be in France for the last bit of June and early July but unlikely to be involved in any of this sadly.

Radio this morning was saying to plan your driving routes carefully as there are a lot of toll roads which can cost a fortune if used all the time. You should be able to plan your routes avoiding a lot of the tolls. Just thought I would share that with you all.

Yeah French tolls are insane. Spend £150 driving to Italy the other year, saying that though the roads are empty so worth weighing up whether it's worth a massive detour or to pay the price.

**** me Marseille is a long drive lol

Arrived at Calais at about 6pm, were still on the road now lol Just come past Valence.

Somehow ended up through the outskirts of Paris past the Stade De France then south on the A6 but couldn't actually get on the A6. Ended up driving underneath Paris Orley airport at one point. So glad we've not got to come back down to St Etienne lol

Toll roads all day long for me. We've spent about 30 euro each but that's sod all on the grand scheme of things.

Can't wait to get to bed

Been France many times before, and if driving on the motorways there, beware of the 'aires'.

Some of them are absolutely disgusting lol like literally probably never been cleaned before. I once saw shit all over the floor in one.

Haha I feel your pain mate, when we drove from Leicester to North Italy it was probably the worst experience of my life. I had to keep stopping every half an hour to get 10 mins sleep.

Toll road are a piece of piss, literally stay on the same road for 200 miles at a time.

Pretty sure my wallets gone missing today (been nicked)

Having spoken to the motorhome company I can hire the vehicle out with my passport and they already have my license details. But does anyone know what the repurcussions would be in France if stopped by the police there if I physically don't have my driving license to hand? (I'm hoping my work will have a photocopy as well)

You'd probably be in the shit.

Road Gendarmes have no sense of humour and will expect you to have all your documents in order. If not you will have 24hrs to present yourself at the station with your papers.

France is far more a military state than people realise.

French police are pretty strict driving wise so I can't imagine that would go down too well to be honest. I am sure you have read about you needing to carry cash/ breathalyser etc.

I still haven't got my tickets, FA are incredibly incompetent.

You don't need to carry a breathalyser anymore.

Tolls are really expensive but not using the toll roads will be an error. You can really get held up on the alternative routes.

Meant to be in Paris when England play Wales but have found a return bus that only costs £30 to Lille.

Will Lille be worth going to for it?

Anyone over there now, what's the situation been like with regards to policing at ports/airports?

Just at EMA now and police are checking passports, If you have any history of violence in th last 5 years they won't let you travel.

Planning a trip next weekend to hopefully see our 1st knockout game on the Sat (should we win the group).

Any suggestions where to stay in Paris? How are the campsites?
