sylofox Posted 19 March 2015 Posted 19 March 2015 That's what makes me laugh the most. Most people on this forum have **** all knowledge of actually running a football team, let alone a successful one and still they go on like they have all the answers. I bet most have never even played the game at any level. Yet they slag players like they are Pele.
Guest Posted 19 March 2015 Posted 19 March 2015 After the Hull game, for the first time this season, I have accepted that we are most likely going to be relegated, however a win against Spurs and I'll be back on the optimistic bus.

Understandable I think we all do. Not that anyone would feel happy but peoples comments about a club they claim to love. And comments about a manager that has given us our best times for years. As I said he has failed us but still deserves respect for his previous seasons of success.
David Hankey Posted 19 March 2015 Posted 19 March 2015 It is also a question of realism. The statistics don't lie and manage to win a meagre 4 wins out of 28 doesn't bode well. Does anyone really expect the team to play out of their skins and go on an unbeaten run at this time of the season because that's what it will take. Highly unlikely I would have thought.
cc_star Posted 19 March 2015 Posted 19 March 2015 I agree with this completely. Let's freshen the club up. Get a manager with whom the fans can associate with more (I know some do like Pearson). A change of players. Keep some, change some. I'd like to start afresh next season personally. A new man with some new ideas. It might work, it might not. Keeping Pearson might work, it might not. But let's roll the dice. Throw the balls in the air and see what comes down. Sometimes a change is needed. I too think Pearson has become a little toxic. We know him, we know what to expect. We know his goods and his bads. How about a new approach? It might pinch a little to start, but I'm willing to take the chance. After this campaign, both on and off the field, I've grown tired of Pearson personally. I don't relish the thought, to be honest, of starting next season in the Championship (if we go down) with the same management team at the helm. I simply feel it's time for a change of direction at the club. I get the sentiment... and hell if we continue turning out without a midfielder coached with protecting the defence, there is no hope whatsoever and NP will have showed absolutely to not have a clue about top flight football, so whatever happens from that... will happen. But we've rolled that dice so many times & it's turned into nothing except for midtable mediocrity (at best) & 3rd tier football for the first time in our history at worst... and our only period of (relative) success has come from not rolling it

I'll stick with NP please
nnfox Posted 19 March 2015 Author Posted 19 March 2015 Pearson is going nowhere this season, it would be a MASSIVE gamble that if it didn't pay off would leave us seriously compromised next season. The owners will want the right manager in place for next season. Ironically, if we get relegated I think Pearson will stay and if we stay up he'll go.

He seems incapable of learning anything from his mistakes, and that is an extremely bad sign.

That backs up my point he deserves some respect yet very few show it.

Swiss_tony Posted 20 March 2015 Posted 20 March 2015 I am too and we know he has in the past. That backs up my point he deserves some respect yet very few show it. didn't he get the respect last season. I gave it to him, i'm sure everybody did. should we keep on respecting him for last season for the next 5 even if we end up in the conference?? what tosh. yes he DID a great job, but he's not DOING a great job.
foxinsocks Posted 20 March 2015 Posted 20 March 2015 So let's take the positives... I have learnt that having a manager who can adapt and learn is vital... next time were are in the pl we will need more options and the courage to try them
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 22 March 2015 Posted 22 March 2015 (Pearson)... DID a great job, but he's not DOING a great job. Agreed. CURRENT REASONS TO BE POSITIVE We scored from a corner. Wes scored in the right net. Season is nearly over and we can sod off on holiday and forget about this horrible season.
shailen Posted 22 March 2015 Posted 22 March 2015 Can we not leave this until the season ends. 7 points off safety with 9 games to go and a game in hand. Don't think anyone could believe now is the time to sack the manager. It would be unfair. So let's see how the last 9 go, and reassess from there

You have to be joking, right? What in the hell does this man have to do before some people admit he deserves to be sacked?
CollinsLCFC Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 I bet you feel a bit of a sausage now... The thing is, We have a game in hand (albeit against chelsea) If we win that by some form of miracle, (stranger things have happened) we are only 4 points adrift with 8 games to play... everything to play for... IF WE WERE IN ANY SORT OF FORM OR EVEN LOOKED LIKE SCORING This escape with NOT come with Nigel Pearson at the helm. He cannot get his tactics right, He doesn't know his best team, He cannot get his subs right, and the players no matter how much they say they are, are not confident in themselves or their boss. MARTIN JOL NOW. 100% rather go down with him and keep him in charge than nigel, and he could get us playing.
