Leicester City are rumoured to be lining up a a double swoop for Leeds United duo Ross McCormack and Sam Byram.

The Foxes have already confirmed their promotion to the Premier League and chief scout Steve Walsh has confirmed that the club have started looking at potential additions to the squad that has done so well in the Championship this season.

McCormack, 27, is currently the top scorer in the Championship with 27 goals and his outstanding form has been attracting interest from Premier League clubs such as West Ham. Leicester are the latest side join the race to secure the Scotsman‘s signature and will face a fight from a variety of clubs, including Leeds who are likely to offer the striker a new contract.

As well as McCormack, Leicester are also reportedly joining the selection of clubs interested in Sam Byram, also of Leeds.

The defender, 20, has made 70 appearances for United since breaking into the first team setup in 2012 and has been catching the eye of a number of clubs, most notably Premier League overacheivers Southampton. Byram started his career at Elland Road and is known to have a good relationship with the Leeds supporters, but the prospect of playing football at a higher level could be too much to resist for the youngster.

Leicester boss Nigel Pearson is renowned for his policy of not signing ‘big names‘ and Byram and McCormack seem like ideal candidates to fill the gaps to make an already strong squad stronger.
