  1. I enjoy the podcast, it's good the hosts/guests get to say their peace but I think recently they've become monologues rather than discussion points. Jake should probably ask a few more questions or challenge a point to break up the > 3 or 4 minute rambling points.
  2. I’d do that even if we didn’t get another loan in. Sack of shit, I’m embarrassed we even pay a percentage of his wages
  3. Yep, people are so desperate to work in football people with masters degrees will work for near minimum wage given the hours. There’s some alpha in clubs paying big money to build better backroom departments. For probably the cost of half of Luke Thomas’ annual salary we could build a top 10 data/analysis dept in world football.
  4. My understanding is they sold key players and didn’t replace them
  5. Huddersfield were one of the worst PL sides ever tbh and barely spent after going down https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/huddersfield-town/alletransfers/verein/1110 At WBA the owners are shit and he's barely had a penny aside from reinvesting after sales
  6. Betting odds Wiki page edited Dubious twitter source The holy trinity of absolute new manager wank
  7. He's on the gravy train for life, he's not getting a job at a comparable club so there is zero reason other than pride to step down. Should have been sacked 3 times over.
  8. My order of preference for the vacant managerial role at Leicester City Football Club (I've just caught up on the thread ). Schmidt - unlikely any decision makers have heard of him Corberan RVN Carsley Moyes/Potter
  9. It must be the U17 world cup win that has ingratiated himself with the media classes snd salvaging such a massive, humongous sleeping giant (that are much better since he left). His PL record is SHIT, he's not hard done by. A 20.8 win % is rubbish, about 2% better than Mick McCarthy's.
  10. Guardiola has lost 5 in a row. Huddersfield finished 20th in his first season there, they finished 3rd the season after so obviously in the play offs(with Ward in goal) and were probably a better refereeing performance away from going up against Cooper's Forest. They tapered off again but continually lost their best players each season, been nowhere near then since and got relegated. At West Brom in 22/23, he joined when they were rock bottom, 2 wins, 8 draws, 7 losses. They went on to finish 9th - under Corberan they won 16, drew 4 and lost 9 (may have miscalculated here as they had a caretaker for a few games). In the summer of '23 they had to rely on frees and loans, £0 spent because their owners don't give a toss. Lost two players for about £8m. They went on to finish 5th in the play offs Spent marginally more this season, circa £4m but still sold £5m. Currently 6, 8, 2 and on course for the play offs. He's done a remarkable job at WBA, their squad is full of championship cast offs like McNair, Jed Wallace, Daryl Dike etc. The most impressive thing about him is his preferred playing style is much more expansive but through circumstance he's made Huddersfield and WBA really hard to beat. Actual pragmatism.
  11. His PL record is basically the same as Steve Kean’s. He’s shit at this level and the media reaction is remarkably lazy as usual. If he was foreign and less familiar to broadcasters through the U17 WC win and scraping survival with Forest, he’d be rightly criticised for crap coaching and tactical set ups.
  12. Bell Wasserman again lad
  13. Draws 0-0 with League 2 side after an abysmal performance. “Wow, these guys don’t like my Forest connection do they?” The man is a moron. Berating refs when we’re outshot by 13 efforts everyweek too.
  14. “The club wouldn’t just sack a manager without anybody lined up” Are the same people who have been wrong about Top, Rudkin and the board for about 3 years. Rodgers had gone mouldy 18 months before his sacking and we still didn’t have anybody lined up. The club is owned by a juvenile reactionary whilst his acolyte board do nothing to challenge him. ”He was never convinced by Cooper” in the same way his first game was the Middlesbrough league cup final.
  15. True. Sometimes I forget to index on the board’s stupidity.
  16. Wouldn’t prioritise the latter tbh, don’t think they even have that filter on wyscout
  17. Moyes is fairly sensible but I don’t think our squad suits him. He likes physicality and we just don’t have much of it.
  18. Red Dead Redemption would make for a good tv adaption.
  19. Schmidt would be amazing. Julien Stephan I’d be over the moon with. More likely I think the club will opt for Pottee but can’t see him jumping at the chance if he’s turned us down before.
  20. Our midfield is always badly organised. Shouldn’t be easy to play through 3 DMs yet we make it a doddle. So deep and still so shit in transition. An average manager from a midtable Portuguese club would be an improvement.
  21. Too many forest bores on the podcast circuit. Can’t stand Madri Storey.
  22. About 0.35 non penalty xG. We’re abysmal offensively - he’s a crap tactician and a worse coach. We’re choosing relegation again if we don’t sack him.
  23. European Bar Guide for pubs. Have a melange in the coffee shops. Pinball museum is a great way to kill a few hours. Gellert thermal baths are fantastic.
  24. One day they’ll get some comeuppance.
  25. Not quite ground my gears but a sales guy booked in a call with me for 17:00 - 17:30 next week, is it just me or is that really presumptuous?
