Bristric has had one shot in the league and that was outside the box. Strikers need to be regularly taking 2-4 shots a game. If Howell and Page start we should create a bit more.

It's a bit unpopular on here but Albrighton was really shit in his final few seasons, just relentlessly gave the ball away and despite working hard was a bit of a defensive liability because he was beaten easily, gave away a few penalties too. Doesn't detract that he was absolutely brilliant prior to that.

Palace lost to Macclesfield as holders of the FA cup last season - they won the Conference League too. If they plummeted to L2 (They've been in the 3rd tier more than we have) in 5 years and lost at say, Harborough - do you think that would be worse result than the Macclesfield one? Teams lose in one off cup games, it happens. A worst ever league result is much more consequential.

It was all predictable, crap record, not rated by his previous club’s fan, no output at all besides the occasional goal. Still - the brains trust on here: “Give him a chance, we can’t just play young lads, Martin likes him, he’s versatile, he’ll be good at this level”. This version of Martin is more entrenched, more broken and more zealous when his last two jobs should have taught him something, anything at all. If you gave him Vardy in his prime - he'd score about 20 goals this season. We're too risk averse and possession is a end rather than a means. We were largely rubbish under Rowett and we generating 20+ shots per game. We did get lots of shots yesterday but a rotated PL side with nothing to fear is different to what we're up against week-in-week-out now e.g 10 behind the ball and happy with a draw. I expect we'll have a cluster of players around 10-13 goals in Bristric, Alves, Chaplin and perhaps another. Birmingham blitzed the league points wise but they scored relatively few goals for their tally - with a very similar manager to what we have and a better squad.

I spent the weekend in Norfolk, saw The Streets and Babyshambles in Norwich. I'd been twice for football and throughly enjoyed the place, nice to have a bit more time to potter around. It's incredibly overlooked, fantastic array of churches and medieval architecture. Great pubs too. In the same bracket as York imo. My girlfriend's family friends live in Wells so we spent Saturday there, the cider yard (name escapes) is worth sitting in. We stayed in Walsingham, a bit kitschy but it's one of the more unique villages in the country. Lovely farm shop.

He'll be better in our more difficult games as his pace and physicality will be more use when we have a bit more room. Howell looks as if he's going to be the one to unlock tight defences

We’ve seen him play well, it’s just his confidence has been destroyed and he’s played for an ineffectual side for years. He's a good shot stopper but his technical flaws are more apparent and I think he needs to move back home to reset his career. Hyper short build up and a physically-lacking team exacerbates his failings. Despite plenty of poor performances I don’t dislike him, unlike a lot of them. I think if we had a well balanced side and had leant into being more direct and physical there is a word where he's maybe a lower PL keeper. When he first broke into the team he looked very capable, that could have been his flaws weren't known or targeted yet or it could be he was confident and enjoying himself.

We’re probably better suited to a rotated PL side because they aren’t scared of us nor is it a cup final. Hopefully as we play slightly better teams we have a touch more space.

One outfielder notably above 6ft, the striker shit in the air. Extremely lightweight midfield and the one big error a game LB at CB with another fullback! I’d be surprised if we aren’t absolutely bettered

£500k and over, we are extremely short in midfield literally and figuratively. We could sell all of our want away players for £1 but we need bodies in the door and we need some funds to do that with. We're also running out of time, we need to bring in X amount of players, I'd rather go into this season with Choudhury than no DM at all and £250k in the bank. We're at risk of having a completely threadbare squad, this is why selling Cartwright was a bit silly, he was the only other physical option centrally. We didn't necessarily have to keep him, just move on once we've signed better. We may actually go into this season with our central midfield options looking like: Braybrooke Page Skipp (Maybe one or two signings). We'd be Braybrooke injury away from being proper relegation candidates

I thought we'd never be rid but if Derby put in a decent offer he has to go. The fewer players here from our most rancid seasons the better. What we absolutely have to do is use the money to buy an upwardly mobile, physical DM.

The brains trust on here would want you to give him a chance though. As if 15 games of nothing is worthwhile when 2 games have shown us more than enough, along with the testimony of people that have watched him over a hundred times.

The Stamford just needs to be a steady beer and food pub, it doesn’t need tapas or a deli or taster menus. But Everards don’t know what they’re doing so they turn to mr boiler plate to get them out of the shit because he can at least run a restaurant. They’re going to run out of pubs to homogenise, then surely the penny will drop that you have to let landlords get their own guest beers on and give them license to move away from highland cow decor. I don’t love BCA pubs but the beer is night and day with Everards pushing IPA iteration 2917 on to people.
