  1. In thought this was clever.
  2. HA in Hinckley on my drive. I didn't have a problem before. I have previously been able to save R2, R5live and some commercial stations that aren't broadcasting on FM. You're right about the DAB reception. It's not great. I could have the radio on a DAB station and drive 50 yards down the road and lose it. Very frustrating.
  3. That's going to go over so many people's heads on here.
  4. Is the Leicester Lions speedway stadium/team still going?
  5. I'm not disclosing any personal info but there was one memorable individual at the meeting I went to who disclosed that she would drink 3 - 4 bottles of red wine a night. She didn't drink during the day as she had kids at home. Her eldest son bought her a nice bottle of wine for her birthday once. She made him take it back and get it exchanged for 3 bottles of the crap stuff. It wasn't about the taste experience it was purely about the alcohol. I hope you find your support group... supportive. Good luck on your journey away from alcohol.
  6. Some of them attended AA meetings at different venues on different days just to avoid drinking. I'm not sure but most of the meetings seem to take place in the evenings for obvious reasons I guess.
  7. My dad took me to the world track cycling championships, must have been about 1970 when I would have been 14. I remember the sense of pride that Leicester had been chosen and seeing all the different nations flags on the lampposts on Saffron Lane. The last event I went to there was a car boot sale in the car park. The venue had been closed by then and the state of the place was quite saddening. On the plus side my BiL sold a petrol strimmer for a fiver after being short of the truth when the buyer asked if it was working.
  8. When I was working, I attended an AA meeting as part of a training course and when I listened to some of the awful experiences that were shared, it sure made me take a look at myself. It's remarkable how some of the people there managed to pull themselves back from the brink.
  9. Season ticket? Nah, unlikely Now you've scared @Finnegan again, just as he was calming down.
  10. Anyone able to help with a problem I have with the radio in my Peugeot? For some reason the "infotainment" system wiped all my saved stations and I had to retune after I did a factory reset. Now it won't pick up 104.9FM and I can't tune into any DAB stations where before I had several in my presets. I've searched Peugeot forums and Google but I can't find anything that really matches my issue so I guess this post is a bit of a long shot.
  11. Supermarkets were selling England flags etc. Nobody was buying them. No little flags on cars either.
  12. Another thing that was positive throughout the tournament is the players not surrounding the ref or waving the imaginary yellow card. And no frequent spitting, either.
  13. I wasn't complaining. I was comparing. There's a difference.
  14. I don't watch WSL as it's not a great experience. However The Lionesses is a different level.
  15. Not until the engraver does his work.
  16. England's women make us proud. England's men make us frustrated.
  17. Kelly > James. It's clear even without the injury.
  18. She is now
  19. BBC comms have been poor all tournament. I never watch ITV sport normally.

    Dogs

We've recently acquired a cockerpoo puppy, now 14 weeks old and we've had him for 5 weeks. Having never had a puppy or any dog before we underestimated the time and effort required to teach and train one. He's delightful, attentive gentle and playful when he's not being manic and biting everything he can reach. We knew it would take time and we expect to be spending 90% of our time praising, rewarding, preventing, teaching, being his companions. I had hoped that by now he'd be toilet trained, and we're getting there, but still getting overnight poo and wee in the conservatory although he will go outside when we encourage him and he is voluntarily doing it outside as well so it feels like progress is being made although we can have the patio doors open all day at this time of year. We just don't know how to get him to "ask" to go out if the doors are shut. He just does it. Even though we are vigilant for the signs, it's done before we can get to him and put him outside. I main vocabulary at the moment is "NO!" "Good boy". "Toilet". In spite of the above, I have to say, he's fun and we're discovering his personality.
  21. Anyone know what type of spider this is? The photo was taken by my nephew.
