  1. No Winning is the key. Performance is secondary
  2. Hang on, we're playing on the front foot??? Has there been an epiphany for Russell?
  3. I'm old now and of a different era where innocent play, with some edgy risk taking as a fledgling teen was the norm. I had decent parenting but I knew I could be rebellious and possibly overstep the mark. I wasn't great at school and got into trouble several times One of the best things that happened for me was joining the Police Service as a cadet aged 17. (1972 btw) The team building, the confidence building, the respect and values for people and the work ethic that it instilled in me has benefitted me throughout my life. It wasn't D of E but it wasn't far off. Some of my friends have had their kids take the D o E course and, without exception they have been all the better and more rounded because of it. And having that on your CV goes a long way with potential employers.
  4. I understand the appointment of an up and coming manager in the mould of Pep, ie. Maresca who, although the football wasn't fast flowing, it was for the most part, successful. I don't understand the subsequent appointments of RVN, Cooper and now Martin. Bargain bin no hopers. We've dropped to the lowest depths in our history due to the ineptitude of the owner, the DoF, the financial directors and the board overall. F**king self centred, selfish, arrogant, money grabbing c*nts the lot of them. You could also say the same about our senior players.
  5. Peter Drury's milking his moment. Again.
  6. What a show of shite that was. Russel is inept. Completely useless and clueless as a manager at any level above county league football. That said, I really despise the whole hierarchy of this shambles of a football club. Why? Why can't they admit their failures and do something different, decisive to change our trajectory. Do they simply not care? I'm all but done with our club. Entirely down to thr owners and the board. The players have a lot to answer for but they're hardly being motivated by the negativity from the top and the disaster of appointing Martin following the disaster of RVN and Cooper. It feels like nobody on the playing or coaching staff knows what they're doing. No focus, no positive tactics. No communication. Russell has drained any positivity or understanding of how we need to play regardless of whether the players can play his system. He won't change. There's a reason why Rangers and Southampton binned him. As long as he's here, we're never going anywhere.
  7. I'll wait and see. I thought the Market Place was already being upgraded. Cleaner streets, they've bought a couple of chewing gum removing machines but they'll need be operational 24hrs to remove the spit and gum that's soiling the very expensive Chines slabs that cracked and broke to then be replaced by a filling of tarmac. No town centre will be perfect but ours seems to have been allowed to degrade in favour of cycle and bus lanes and ways of forcing traffic congestion to make it as unpleasant as possible to drive in to visit. Clean up the main approaches to the city and that make it more attractive. Narborough Road, Humberstone Road, Aylestone Road, Melton Road, Hinckley Road are a disgrace in terms of illegal parking, litter, and just that sense of being quite neglected.
  8. One more letter to add:
  9. Did you get him off coach one?
  10. Farewell sweet..... Who?
  11. Very likely. She's a wannabe princess and will do anything to achieve that. Just my opinion btw. Maybe she has persuaded the prodigal son to make amends in order to get herself some kind of "title"?

What, cooling refreshing rain and the scent that goes with it?
  13. How small is your AC?
  14. Subjective, like all forms of art and entertainment. For example, I couldn't understand why people disliked Peter Kay in all his personas. Nor could I understand the like for Frankie Boyle or Rosie Jones. But MBB's was pretty dire after the first couple of series. If "Mrs Brown" saying" "Feck" makes you laugh, I suggest you watch Father Ted. That series used the word in the perfect Irish way and therefore is so much funnier than just saying it out of context.
  15. You used to able to tell because there were often glitches, but AI is now teaching itself how to be better. It's scary.
  16. Our surgery has a BP machine that you just rock up and use yourself and you can ask the reception to add it to your health record. But that also means that if it's not within normal parameters, you can choose to ignore it which is risky in the long term. I think the invitation for a face to face BP check is what's going to be affected. And that's not good for the reasons I mentioned.

And people claim that the humidity in Britain is what makes us suffer in a heatwave. So many times you hear people say "yeah but the heat in (insert any Med resort) is different. Well, yeah. The humidity in most coastal places in the UK will be more bearable than a landlocked UK town. I've been in Madrid, Barcelona, Rome and Athens and others in the summer and it was awful in terms of heat and humidity. Oppressive and inescapable. In Rome we sat at a venerable historic site, I can't remember where, on a hill overlooking the city and it had a fountain. We and many others, sat with our backs to the view and our feet in the water. The police rocked up and made us all get out. Apparently there are regular patrols. I mean, the Trevi Fountain I can understand...

Hunstanton is the best of a relatively poor bunch and the cliffs and the old town beach are the better bits of it. A few years ago we went in early September and it was pretty much closed.

As grim as the people that go there. Maybe it's a mutual attraction.
  20. He also said: "I say unlikely because I don't see anyone right now, but I'm not going to say that someone couldn't be the firebrand we need". I think quite a few see a few potentials. Maybe it should've been titled "Potential Heroes". Or maybe @Trav Le Bleu is still mourning the loss of Bonnie Tyler?
  21. I don't fully understand AI and because of that, I feel quite scared by it. Obviously it can work for good but more sinisterly, could and obviously will work for all the bad that's going to come of it. I guess I'm like my parents who in the their 80's, couldn't get to grips with automation and doing things like shopping or banking without physically going to a bank or a shop. My late mum couldn't. She'd marvel that we could order her shopping from our house and it would arrive on her doorstep the next day. This rapid progress of AI technology leaves many of us bewildered.
  22. I never, ever thought I'd be reading this about our team.
