  1. decided it was worth a punt on sheff w as the odds were really high and they just got a win under their new boss while i’m hoping nigel’s boys sulk
  2. my mind always goes back to a comment maresca made early on. When things are going good we play this way, when things go bad we play this way. I just worry that he will stick to a system and a shape no matter what. You can’t always be the man city in the match, sometimes we will need to adapt and I really really hope that maresca will be willing to shuffle the deck when we need different solutions. Kompany is showing that if you don’t adapt you can struggle. Personally, watching this game i felt that from the first 5 minutes you could tell our possession at the back was going to cause us trouble due to the way they were pressing. We got away with a few moments and I was hoping we might adjust to something that perhaps nullified their press but we stuck at it. It’s worked in the past so i will give enzo the benefit. But something didn’t click today, whether that was poor individual performances or the tactics im not sure. But i’ll definitely be keeping a keen eye on our tactics and style against the tougher sides.
  3. defensively i’d say we were pretty good today. We just have the ball away in daft areas. Not sure you can get get on anyones back in that line for today
  4. i know we lost but that was a 9/10 performance from ricardo. Best he’s been since his injury. Absolutely unreal defending from him.
  5. I think this game will suit casadei in more ways than one. Firstly he has good defensive work rate and secondly because they will leave gaps and he won’t have to carve them out himself which seems like a bit of a weakness for him
  6. i’d be targeting him all night. No way he can handle mavididi and once he gets used to him, switch over fatawu to give him trauma
  7. archie gray is about to learn what it’s really like to ply for leeds
  8. 🎶i’m going to wink myself to sleep, wink myself to sleep, i know i am, i’m sure I am, im going to wink myself to sleep 🎶 then repeat
  9. to keep myself grounded i like to remind myself that losing to both ipswich and leeds twice is 12 points. Still plenty of work to do
  10. it was a good post up until the point you didn’t acknowledge that Fatawu is the heir to Riyads throne.
  11. It is always going to be exciting dipping into the south american market but it’s also a lot harder to judge ability. Even when you get that right the question remains whether the culture adjustment will work, especially as we don’t appear to have any spanish speaking players at present. We will really see what glover is made of if we dip into that market on a few players
  12. 100x this! That’s what irked me about the MSM and their comments about us getting relegated was because we fired rodgers, rather than the reality, which was the mess he created was too hard to fix. A good manager leaves with the club in a solid place. A bad one leaves it in a mess. I’m sure Claudio would agree
  13. The way he acted this summer showed he hasnt grown at all either. Acting entitled that he should get a big money move to saudi. how he would only play for leicester because he’s above the rest of the championship. He had a bit of a red pill choice between playing football and money and he made his decision. Hopefully he is at least happy about it. Either way, I think he was going downhill even if he had stayed with us.
  14. in the kindest possible way, we aren’t even close to what those teams are. We are already an established premier league side who have dropped down: Our bounce back should be more similar to what happened with Villa, newcastle or west ham imo. We won’t have to convince signings anywhere near the same way the others would and we already have a core of established prem-players. It’s never going to be easy and even more so when the 3 going down will likely be clubs we would be better than (less chance of a surprise drop this year). But our fight won’t be quite so uphill
  15. Rak-Sakyi must be absolutely fuming he wasn’t allowed to join us, just to be treated like this by Hodgson. I’ve always felt if you’re not going to give your young players a decent crack at it than let them leave on loan. How many years would we have set barnes back without his loan? Would KDH have ever made it here without his? If enzo looks at alves or braybrooke and thinks they need another year of development, get him out to league 1 imo. (i don’t think he will, but you get my point)
  16. 10 years please
  17. he’s mustard. I started this clip and was thinking i’d already seen this a few weeks ago. But it’s basically a carbon copy of one of his other assists
  18. it’s the pace up front that worries me. Id personally consider a coady faes pairing to try and counter that.
  19. the odds of scoring corners is actually only roughly 3%. So as long as you get a few on the money you’re doing fine. No matter how good a player is they always have dud days, maddison and youri were no better
  20. Ainsworth is such a likeable bloke imo, real shame it couldn’t work out for him
  21. you are right to look at yourselves in these situations, but being non-partisan you can’t argue that perhaps they deserved it more? and the only thing that saved them was cheating by overspending. They should have been down years ago but have been allowed to continuously flout the rules hoping something positve sticks for them. If you were in a contest where you have to build a wooden house and you’re shite at building houses and come last. would you be fine if the other really shite person, was cheating and going well over budget and just finishing a tad less shite than you? Nope you’d be pointing out that he paid for fancy paint and chandeliers…. even if they were still crap.
  22. Just to rub the salt in the wounds, this will lead to pep resigning and man city will nab maresca
