The Winks thing beggars belief. If he wasn’t in the squad, I can see how some code of conduct type thing is at play. But the fact he’s with the squad, in the changing room and sat on the bench makes no sense to then pick Skipp ahead of him. Skipp offers nothing. He looks lost, has zero influence or impact. I defy anyone to tell me what he adds to our team.

I don’t care if Winks shagged Vesty’s dog on Top’s desk in front of the Buddhist monks…… he still starts ahead of Skipp. Even with a broken feckin’ leg.

Winks > Skipp Aluko must be > Thomas Faes > Okoli Daka’s work rate vital of we only have Ayew as a striker. Ricardo has to be shoe-horned in.

Annoyingly, the two players I’d add are Bilal and Winks. It would be enough to shift the balance if power in this game. 😞

Man, that was a hard watch. We have nowhere to go when we have the ball. I think Page is going to be very important for us, but right now Soumare is a 1-man midfield with Page and Skipp in there 🥴. Can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’d also get Daka on for his mobility. Ayew is just so easily closed out as his lack of pace and energy make it soooo easy to defend against him when he’s a lone striker.
