I’m not buying that. He fails the ‘eye-test’ - especially when it matters. Lots of players can hit a good top speed. But he doesn’t do it if his route takes him anywhere near a centre-half that might kick him. He’s been an abysmal signing, and even though I’d love him to come good, I just cannot see it happening at the level we are presently at.

Thought I’d check out the Fruitcake forum to see what the Stokies made of Cannon’s performance tonight. Having read 10 pages, I still have absolutely no idea. But I could now submit a peer-reviewed thesis as to why Mike Pejic should never be allowed to do radio commentary ever again.

I can’t believe I’m defending a team selection that will never see the light of day…….. but here goes! 😂. Mav isn’t, and never will be, a wing-back. But in that team, I played him in front of JJ. Whereas Fatawu, with his increased defensive work-rate on the other side, might enable us to defend with a 3.5 🤷. But the preamble to that selection clearly states that it’s a team to attack. How have we done at keeping clean sheets with Cooper’s ultra-conservative formations? Having watched the Cherries last night, I reckon we stand more chance of a win by getting after them than sitting off. 🤷. Just my opinions. 👍

We’ve seen all of those players this season. Admittedly, only a small, (and poor), glimpse of Edouard. But I still think he might have something better to offer as a likely source of goals this season than Wilf. But you’re right, “this is FT all over” with hyperbole and overreaction…. it just wasn’t mine, though! 😂

I share your pain and sentiments. Sometimes, you just know something can’t be fixed and there’s no shame in accepting that. Cooper is such a time, for me.

I used to laugh & sneer at Man Utd a few seasons back when OGS was in charge and posed the question ‘which other EPL club would want him if their manager left?” The consensus at the time was virtually nobody. Well, same question re Cooper. I cannot think of a single club in the league right now that would touch him.

20 games in PL without a win for Cooper? Realistically, we need to win ten games this season. If not this one, at home, then where do they come from? To give Fatawu virtually nothing against an opponent we must surely have been targeting to win against simply beggars belief. Even if he’s off form, he’s a match winner. Ayew just isn’t. The caution is stinking the place out.
