  1. Ranieri, oohh Ranieri, ohhhh. He came from Italy. To manage the city. Ranieri, ooh.
  2. Leicester fans in the seventies weren't bickering about "the goat" and picking sides over two players. They just wanted to see the likes of Frank Wortho play at Filbo. There wasn't some global interest over singular stars. The game is changed beyond comprehension. The times they are a changing.
  3. The horrid things about football can be traced back to the injection of cash in the nineties. The things we resent are just the manifestation of corporate greed. The game isn't the same; who needs a character and the potential for success when we can reduce the entire process to statistics and financial outcome.
  4. I miss it so much
  5. Agreed. But he was in the position. Our current strikers aren't
  6. Daka is a worse signing than Akinbiyi. He's on fifty games with club and country with something like a single goal. He doesn't look like scoring. At least Akinibiyi was in a position to score.
  7. It's the perception and optics. Akinbiyi was a LOT of money at that point in our development and the team around was supposed to be elevated by him. He missed SO many chances that previous "cheaper" strikers (Cottee/Claridge/Robins) would have buried and also, sadly for Ade, he wasn't Heskey.
  8. I wanted to love it. But there's so much wrong or ridiculous. The best format would have been one infected crew member hatches in a secluded civilization and havoc ensues whilst humanity tries to understand what is happening. The thrill of alien has always been the fear of the unknown and the terror of helplessness. This is just weird. A friend put it best - this isn't an alien production. It's TV show for people raised on marvel movies that happens to feature a xenomorph.
  9. Some players seem to only sparkle when they're the new kid on the block. Youri was like that. Almost as though the first year or so when they feel new and important at the club they really thrive but when they're established and other players are the 'new toy' they begin to slump a bit.
  10. It's been the same since he arrived. Who knows what he actually does. He's neither an attacking or defensive midfielder. Just takes up space.
  11. Digital tickets are a roaring success.
  12. Massive queues at all entrances again. What DIDN'T work with physical tickets that this is preferable.
  13. And it can now be talked to and reasoned with.
  14. I'd like to be able to say the alphabet through farting like I can with burping, please.
  15. I've long said that the drama in this area is both under viewed and underrated. The connoseuirs meltdowns.
  16. It's the strip lights. I think the rest looks fairly well furnished but the strip lights have a WMC vibe.
  17. Okay - the ability to harm notwithstanding, the deadly efficiency of the alien has been totally subdued in this series. Besides, the idea of an alien cattle prod makes zero sense in the context of the universe. The Nostromo was sent to LV426 on a spurious rescue mission commissioned by Weyland Yutani with the directive of "crew expendable" precisely because of the inherent threat of the alien. They didn't have the fire power necessary to collect one. This is the same WY that - years before the Nostromo in Alien Earth - suddenly have alien wrangling sacks and prods. It makes no sense at all. Aliens on a WY colony? Why send in the marines and Ripley. Per Alien Earth they just need cyborgs and cattle prods. Why would a company so hell bent on collecting the beast just totally ignore a weapon that can knock it for what can only be centuries. Of course I accept the premise it can be harmed - General Spiers used this to some success in The Music of the Spiers or whatever. But isn't supposed to be a core feature . Is you've read the books - Stephen/Stephanie Perry and so on - you'll know that central to every attempt to control or own the alien is total failure because of the strength and resilience of the beast. A cattle prod for it totally negates that. It's dumb. Think of a better way. They've also nerfed the strength of the beast. That stupid scene where the eye infected parasite engineer bites into the alien in a fist fight was terrible. Too much Disneyfication there, for me.
  18. We're going to concede a penalty today.
  19. Still in the market for a spare tomorrow if anyone has a single or two.
  20. Extremely hard to see how that isn't a fatal injury.
  21. Schmeicel Pereira. Walsh. Huth. Fuchs. Mahrez. Kante. Izzet. Lennon. Guppy. Vardy. I think...
  22. I was there that day. It was such a great game of football. We lost, of course, but Justin was imperious and Mads played out his skin. The away end was fabulous but not because of the result. The performance was, team wise, excellent. We took the game to the champions elect. If we spent the season playing like that we would have been safe.
  23. He won that He was such a pivotal part of that win. He saved two penalties.
  24. Ian Walker was good for us but never great (unless you count doing a number on that fan when we lost) He deserves a mention for consistency. He was very able without being spectacular.
