  1. Fatawu or Monga are going to have a field day.
  2. Compared to Enzo’s style I feel our use of fullbacks pushing forwards into the attacking role’s that they did on the weekend, will make it a lot easier for us when we come against teams that mark man to man. Something that we struggled against under Enzo.
  3. I’m really hoping Cifuentes has a look at Aluko. He’s in the top 3 best talents with Nelson and Monga imo.
  4. Hermansen is perfect for the way Potter wants to play. Seems inevitable he will end up at West Ham. I think it’ll end up being £23m, £20m upfront + £3m add ons.
  5. Before pre-season I would have said selling JJ would be silly due to his versatility, but I do think we have a ready made replacement in Aluko. So selling JJ would be higher in priorities if we need the cash.
  6. I think we 100% are and I have a gut feeling they will go back for Fotis Ioannidis. He had a poor goal return last year, however, his style of play as a striker is absolutely perfect for what Marti wants from his striker.
  7. I would be surprised if Page gets trusted in the box to box role, it appears to be the one role that has a lot of instructions of where to be in each phase. Would be a big expectation to have a 17 year old do it all to a high standard.
  8. Not sure where you’ve got this figure from but it works out like £40m+ especially for the first year. Supposedly Leeds, Burnley and Sheff Utd earnt £49m in parachute payments so where you’ve got £2m from I don’t know?!
  9. Agreed. The only one who should be starting week 1 for me is Monga and that’s due to Stephy being poor in pre-season. I would like to see Aluko at left back with the role our fullbacks have under Marti though. Alves should be back up to Bilal and Page as a depth piece in his role. The rest should be sent on loan, 4 being promoted to the first squad is highly impressive even if they aren’t starting.
  10. The fact he’s earning a minimum of £40k a week is mind baffling to me. He's dog water.
  11. What I find most annoying is that throughout it appears they was just trying to find ways to shut down all the hard work you had done through stupid questions. Shows no intention or care to act on the best interests of supporters. Bunch of yes men.
  12. Throughout the first half I couldn’t help but think Aluko was perfect for the left back role both in attacking phases and defensive phases. Personally I think based of the roles the fullbacks have, it should be Ricky, Nelson, Okoli, Aluko.
  13. The right type of leadership, all for it.
  14. Would be a depth piece in the No.10 position I would imagine. Personally I don’t think he’s needed. I know Alves has got some stick from a few Leicester podcasts about his performances this pre-season, but I think he’s a good back up option to Bilal in that role.
  15. He’s got a dad bod… LOVE IT!
  16. Correct, even if it’s just a simple administration change, we all know how long that takes in the UK. Ticking a box takes around 10 business days 🙄
  17. This is the biggest problem at the club and it’s filtered down to the players, look at the Winks situation, Vestegaard etc. Our stance should be one of a club not manager to manager. If you know a managers gonna get the sack anyway then why care because it’ll all be forgotten about when the next man steps in. Then at board level we’ve proven through our “internal reviews” that no matter what you do you’ll still have a job anyways as your liked. I dread to think how anyone with any ambition at board level feels working with these gimps.
  18. How are governing bodies still allowing this shit to happen? That’s where my issues stems. As others have said, football has become “if you can’t beat them, join them”. Even Simon Jordan stated with regards to our PSR loophole, ultimately if you can get away with it, most clubs would to stay competitive regardless of the moral side of things, otherwise you fall behind. The exact same with the PSR issues with selling training grounds and women teams for hugely inflated prices. They’ve become a laughing stock, doesn’t take much to review a set of rules and make adjustments. They was quick enough to do it when we made them look like idiots but turn a blind eye when it’s bringing money into the English leagues. Vile.
  19. From next week there’s still 6 weeks left of the transfer window & I am sure the loan window is even longer than that. Plenty of time to do business. I would imagine Martí has been sent a lot of film to watch so he has an idea of what the majority of players are like already. It’ll mainly be the young lads he wants to assess. Truth be told prior to players being sold, we only really need a back up goalkeeper and a striker. Dependent on how he see’s Ayew we may not even feel that we need a striker. The majority of our signings will simply be replacing what’s left.
  20. Praying your fishing for a bite here
  21. Based of current squad and the expectation that Mads has left or isn’t fit, for the first game of the season I would go with this. Fatawu is on the bench as I don’t think he’ll be ready for 90 minutes and Monga on the right instead of Alves (they don’t have Monga’s profile on there yet. Bench: Bausor Aluko Thomas Skipp Page McAteer Alves Fatawu Daka No space for Faes, Coady, Vestergaard, VK, Soumare or BDCR. Send a message to both players and agents that there future isn’t at the club.
  22. Knowing us that’ll be our argument in our PSR court hearing! “But we tried to show we are trying, we appointed the gaffer 2 days later than we wanted to”.
  23. For me he will be remembered as the man who crippled his dad’s legacy due to being a people pleaser and wanting to forge good relationships rather than being business savvy. He doesn’t have the bottle to make tough decisions, something his dad had no concerns with doing.
  24. Maybe a specsavers appointment is due for them?
  25. That would make complete sense. With regards to the current playing squad I think fans are getting a bit worked up for no reason. The first 2 pre-season games are all about minutes in the legs, hence why we see so many academy players involved. The final 3 pre season games are the ones that you start getting an idea of who the starting 11 will be, I would imagine the academy lads will start reducing heavily in terms of minutes. The marathon game against OHL was clearly for the new manager to see all players including academy lads, otherwise the U21’s would have just played a separate game. The problem side of it is recruitment, without a new manager seeing these lads directly he’s not going to be able to identify where he feels we need strengthening, other than the obvious areas such as striker or back up keeper.
