A Battery Shelled by Percy Wyndham Lewis painted in 1919. Only 2 years before he painted this he had been fighting at Passchendael after which he became an official war artist from the British and Canadians.

Wenlock Arms on Wenlock Road and The Griffin on Leonard Street. Also, The Commercial Tavern was always good but not been there for about a year.

Louis Grimshaw is really good but I think his dad, John Atkinson Grimshaw, is even better.

The Alex Delaware series by Jonathan Kellerman is very good. First book is 'When The Bough Breaks'.

It's permanently gone: The News/Media Alliance, a trade association behind major news publishers, announced that it has “successfully secured” the removal of 12ft.io, a website that helped users bypass paywalls online. The trade association says 12ft.io’s webhost took down the site on July 14th “following the News/Media Alliance’s efforts.” Like Suzie said above, https://archive.is/ is the one to use now.

I was another Sigur Ros attendee. Having not listened to much of their work I wasn't really sure what to expect but I thought they were great (along with the whole set-up). Off to see Belly at Electric Ballroom tonight.

Been at the top of that street a thousand times but never been down it - always assumed The Scottish Stores was a shop. Could never figure out how they were making a profit selling shortbread and tartan in Kings Cross.

The media obsession with Luke Littler at the moment. Yeah, he’s young, he’s pretty good at darts but up for Sports Personality Award? Would have been a travesty if he’d won. Win something consistently and then you should be up for the award. Kind of feel the same way when people get awarded for being almost good - like if Gareth Southgate got knighted for not actually winning anything.

Not with EDF but they've been sending people 4 times a year to read a non-existing meter at my business for years. Countless calls and emails to them saying the meter doesn't exist and I've never had an account with them yet some poor sod on a 0 hours contract is dutifully sent out by EDF every quarter.
