  1. A disinterested manager and a bunch of disinterested players. I feel sorry for everyone attending this match.
  2. If you're correct then the selection process was flawed, in my opinion.
  3. When the interview process repeatedly results in the appointment of a person who subsequently fails in their position, then either: there were no suitable candidates, or the selection process was flawed, or the interviewers were incompetent Take your pick.
  4. In view of the way he's been treated by his employers I would expect him to leave as soon as he can - which will be as soon as his reputation gets some repair and an opportunity presents itself. So there's virtually no advantage to keeping him bar the financial repercussions of paying him off.
  5. It doesn't matter to our owners if he is a good fit for our set up, if the fans will take to his brand of football, or any other niceties. This is all about money. There is a lot more of it in the PL than the Championship so the owners will go for whomsoever they think is most likely to get us promoted immediately, and worry about everything else later.
  6. Unfortunately sometimes a series of bad events happen and if you're already a bit low from previous problems they can seem worse to you personally than an observer. The FPN seems a bit add - if you're not asked for payment for an item how can it be right that you're fined for not paying - this looks like a simple mix-up which could simply be resolved by you paying the prescription charge. I think that it's possible to appeal an FPN, if it is it might be worth doing.
  7. Fitness only gets you so far. The older posters on here will remember Jock Wallace and the physical fitness regime he put the players through - we had a team that would run until they dropped and it got us out of what was then Div.2 (now Championship). Unfortunately this wasn't enough to keep us up when we got to Div.1 (now PL). Fitness has to be augmented with skill and tactical awareness.
  8. I'll try to be generous after my weekly moment of despair at yet another RvN team selection. There's money available for every league place. He'll be under pressure to get 18th if possible even if that means sacrificing game time for those who need it. Problem is I don't think his selection will get it.
  9. Being smashed by Southampton will be proof positive that we have no chance of success in any division with the current regime and players.
  10. Shades of BR. Pay me now or it gets worse.
  11. He's right to leave. He's given the club the best years of his football life. While finishing his career here would have been preferable he can see the ills in the club that will prevent him achieving any more. There are members of the current squad who aren't fit to lace his boots. All the best to him wherever he goes.
  12. I agree but he won't do it for the simple reason that as such a massive failure he's unlikely to get another job. His only hope is to hang on in there and if we do better in the Championship he won't look as bad.
  13. I suffered from migraines from my teenage years onwards. I would get one or two per week, a lot of the time at weekends. I took painkillers to cope as I couldn't find a way of stopping the problem - I believed the line that they were caused by a misfunctioning central nervous system. My GP sent me to a Chiropractor for a completely unrelated pain problem many years later. The treatment took months and during that time I noted that my migraines were decreasing in number and severity, eventually they disappeared completely. I have continued chiropractic treatment since then and have been migraine free for decades. I don't know if this would work for you as the causes of our migraines may be different but wanted to let you know my experience.
  14. Alf I had a catheter fitted once for only 24 hours and it caused some problems but they were temporary. After the catheter was removed the doctor wanted to make sure that my bladder was working properly so I was given a supply of water and asked to wait in the hospital. Some time later my bladder released its contents with no warning, I hadn't felt the need to urinate before it happened. This shook me a bit but perversely the doctor was happy. He advised that it would take a while for my bladder to get back to normal and that I should urinate upon the slightest feeling of needing to do so. This was good advice. My bladder slowly regained its normal function, it took about a week but there were no longer lasting effects. I was told this was quite normal. One of my bowls buddies went through the same procedure as you last year and he's in pretty good shape now - hope things work out for you also. All the best.
  15. Dictionary definition dross. They're just going through the motions. Sick that it's come to this.
  16. Unfortunately if you're running a business and demand exceeds supply regardless of the quality of your product then there is little incentive to improve the product. Large numbers not renewing and few applications to replace them may galvanise much needed actions.
  17. Is your Seat Ibiza reliable? If it is then keeping it could potentially save you on repair/maintenance bills. My youngest has had a Seat Ibiza since 2009 (from new) and it's been very reliable, just gone through its MOT again with no problems.
  18. RIP
  19. My all time favourite sitcom.
  20. Water down
