  1. Ignorant ****wit.
  2. So, Arrival Los Zorros, what do you think of the majority of 'younger' supporters, UFS aside, who add nothing whatsoever to the atmospheres within the stadium? Your post is ageist & extremely ignorant.
  3. That leaves Brentford Chelsea Millwall QPR Wimbledon Fulham all scheduled for 3.00 k.o. Time for the met to announce their fixture changes.
  4. Anyone remember the Bentintck opposite the station? Not the nicest pub in Notts.
  5. And string vests
  6. Reasonable chance the k.o. time/day could be moved, not so much for tv but more because the met police have quite a few games that weekend to squeeze into their schedule.
  7. The Mercury has always relied on advertising. The small ads were a great way to Find employment Buy a vehicle Purchase 2nd hand stuff (anything) Meet your lifelong partner Inform on the death/birth/anniversary of a loved one Buy from one of the many street news vendors. All for a few pennies. However, progress has changed all that. R.I.P. a once great local newspaper
  8. There's the Royal Oak 10 mins walk away, bit of a tip but does OK Indian grub. I'm not sure if they'll open early for a lunchtime k.o. Pubs in West Brom are typically dour places but there's bound to be one or two open early. Failing that, if you're going on the train there are several good pubs around Snow Hill Station (for the hawthorns)in Brum. Once again I'm unsure of the opening times & there's at least 3 Wetherspoons (open early) in Brum city centre, not sure if theres one in West Brom.
  9. Cardiff (South) Premier Inn has twin rooms on 29th Dec for £55.00. Free parking.
  10. I understand your conundrum. While personally, I could never support another club other than our own, it might be an idea to visit a few of the many established non league clubs in the area where, who knows, over time, you may build up some sort of affiliation with one of them. Better than a football free life!
  11. Apart from the one street with a few trendy bars that you've mentioned, there are some great pubs in Leeds, both olde worlde & modern. Quite a few hidden away from the main thoroughfares that are definitely worth seeking out. If you explore the City Leeds is a fine night out.
  12. Harrogate can be dangerous. Spend too much time there & you will develop a taste for Chardonnay, Smashed Avocado on sour dough & Wax jackets. Too dangerous.
  13. A few lines from the Specials on their home City from 44 years ago, nowt changes. I'm going out tonight I don't know if I'll be alright Everyone wants to hurt me Baby danger in the city I have to carry a knife Because there's people threatening my life I can't dress just the way I want I'm being chased by the national front Concrete jungle, animals are after me Concrete jungle, it ain't safe on the streets Concrete jungle, glad I got my mates with me
  14. Which is, at season ticket prices, approximately the same as watching City.
  15. Tunnock's Caramel Wafers, as delivered by my Kirby & West milkman (remember them) way back when.

    Chippies

Down South Awful chippies, bland & overpriced, avoid. Midlands Some very good chippies about but also some awful ones. Generally any chippies offering a 'Meal deal' are going to be poor My favourite is William Walton's tucked away in darkest Anstey, family owned & ran & quality fish n chips. Up North Chain chippies aside, they know what they're doing up north, rarely come across a bad chippy. Whitby does live up to the hype, chips in beef dripping, the bollox.
  17. Sunday morning?
  18. Listen to his album 'Rock n Roll' You may change your mind.
  19. Wait 6 months & it'll be in the works at a fiver
  20. Took us up to the top flight in his first season & kept us there, just. I remember his time at the club (first season excepted) as being a bit of a struggle. Will never make onto either of the 'Best manager' or 'Worst manager' lists. Good to know he's still alive & kicking at 86 years old.
  21. Adding to the above Brighton, Withdean Stadium making 3. Wembley, new & old Cardiff, Ninians Park & Cardiff City stadium Tottenham, White Hart Lane & Tottenham stadium. Rotherham, Millmoor & NY stadium Walsall, Fellows Park & Bescot.
  22. I never leave before the final whistle. You go to see a game of football, not some of a game of football. I once made the mistake of leaving the cinema early once, to miss the traffic. The film was called 'Titanic' Cam anyone tell me how it ended please?
  23. Micky Bates Leicester City fan & model maker extraordinaire passed away yesterday. Micky, who only had the use of one arm after a stroke a couple of decades ago made the model of Filbert Street on display at the club & countless others of Leicester City & Nuneaton Borough & was also a leading light on Bentleys Roof forum. R.I.P. Micky.
  24. The dullest game of football I've ever seen. Every player was still hung over from New years eve, probably. The parmos are good though.
  25. If you can walk the length of New Walk without getting clipped by an uber delivery bike then you've done well.
