  1. Clear winner for me has to be Patson Daka's 'long' throw that we occasionally employed in one of our many losing causes. Barely reached 10 yards. Who thought that was a good idea?
  2. I've always held the view that I don't truly believe that we, as an entire fanbase, dream of a team of Barry Hayles
  3. https://www.s24su.com/forum/threads/hamza-choudhury.83637/page-14 Blades fans seem excited at the prospect. In case any of you are reading this, we're all devastated he's leaving.
  4. Why the flap about Carsley, if there was any real substance to this he'd be a sight shorter than 25's currently
  5. Is it just me that wants to keep on singing.. 'Shiiining like the sunnnnn Feeling like a number onnnnne'
  6. I've felt this way ever since we won the FA Cup and the Prem. Everything afterwards for me just seems like the biggest anti-climax. Following City from the mid 70s, what MON achieved at the club felt at the time like the pinnacle of whatever we could achieve...and yet through Vichai's dream, we lived the dream that seemed ridiculous. Allied to VAR, ticket prices, food prices, FFP, poor refereeing, compulsory 'is this a library' chanting as if it's razor sharp wit, a massive disconnect between the club and the fans, players who don't give a shit....I struggle to get that hunger I had for the game when I was younger. Might just be an age thing. In summary, 8 years ago it felt like having a three way at the Ritz with Cindy Crawford and Naomi Campbell. Now it feels like fingering Natalie Cassidy behind Pork Pie Library.
  7. 100%. Going to matches last season, the question for me was who in the squad was genuine Premier League quality, and for me anyway, it was only KDH, Mads and potentially Fatuwu - the rest have either already proved they aren't good enough or just aren't good enough. We haven't been able to strengthen as much as we'd wanted to, and this is where we are. I'm no Cooper fan by any stretch, but whoever is in charge is dealing with a severely limited hand.
  8. Is it really a surprise??? He was never good enough for Spurs, and no other Prem clubs came in for him. He's a quality Championship player and no more and I feel he was massively overrated last season.
  9. This was always coming, I can't believe anyone truly looked at our squad last year and thought we'd be OK in the Prem with that personnel?? Jury out on Mads but only because he's yet to play at this level None of the defence are premiership quality with the possible exception of a fit and healthy Ricky. Midfield now that KDH has gone is completely bereft. Winks shone at Championship level because that's his level. There's a reason he got turfed out of Spurs and that's cos he's not Prem quality. Jury out on the wingers, Mavididi was a downgrade on Barnes, and you get the feeling with Fatawu that his constant run inside and shoot manoeuvre will be easily negated by Prem defenders. Which then leaves us with Daka, an ageing and injury prone Vardy and Cannon. Okoli appears to make Brian Carey and Nicky Mohan look like prime Baresi. It can't be any shock surely!!!
  10. Any stream on IPTV??
  11. Haha, spectacularly overrated, goes missing frequently when the heat turns up, famously tried to engineer a move away from Leeds which helped to derail the start of their season. Ugh, under no circumstances, bar us being demoted to League 2.
  12. I just hope the board aren't too precious about the appointment otherwise they're in danger of shattering both the dreams of children and Saturdays kids.
  13. I've always lipread it as him saying 'you f***ing beauty'
  14. Please make this go hot Please make this go hot Please make this go hot Please make this go hot Please make this go hot Please make this go hot Please make this go hot Please make this go hot
  15. The greatest player ever to play for my team. My personal hope is he bags himself a nice Saudi payday and leaves us with a lifetime of unbelievable memories. I wouldn't like to see him reduced to being a (very expensive) bench cheerleader next year, he deserves way more than that.
  16. I don't get the negative vibes on here, I watched the whole of their game at home to Rotherham the other week (I backed them) and they were absolute horse shite and were lucky to draw nil nil. Regulation away win.
  17. Really want tonight to last forever?
  18. Jamie Scowcroft away at Reading 2005 in the FA Cup - they were flying that year and went one up early on. Seem to remember they had a man sent off and we bossed it, equalized, De Vries came on to make his debut and bulldozed his way past 5 or 6 players and I thought we'd signed a superstar - but a blinding far post header from Scowy in front of a packed away end in injury time was absolutely glorious. Edit - just found it here, 49 mins 40 seconds in - a great day
  19. The myth has been busted. We had that weird period a few games back when Brizzle, Stoke and Preston all turned up and set up as if we were peak Barcelona, zero press, zero pressure, zero desire to come at us and we sailed through those games because of that. Sunderland were the first to set fire to that myth, and very quickly everyone has cottoned on. I understand Enzo has a desire to play a certain way, but I really don't get, like or understand a complete disregard of trying to turn teams around by balls into channels for players with pace (which we have) and getting at teams more dynamically and aggressively. Last night was a shambles from start to finish. If that's not going to make him rethink that there has to be an alternate way to 'doing Plan A better' then I worry where this will end up.
  20. I'm over in Tenerife at the moment, anyone know of any bars in Playa or Adeje that might have the game on? Cheers.
  21. Daniel Farke on Injury news Djed Spence is not in team training at the moment, we expect him to be back in the next seven to 14 days. We expect him to be involved after the international break. Junior Firpo is in team training. This week was his first proper training week. He's edging closer and no setback. He's in the mix and available. There were a few players with concerns in the last game, Joe Rodon, Sam Byram and Cree Summerville, yes I substituted all three of them. We took care of them and they were able to train today. If there's no reaction they're all available. Joe Gelhardt has a hand fracture and we're waiting further assessment so he'll miss the next couple of weeks if he needs surgery. On being able to withdraw players at Huddersfield It was necessary. It was not like I was too concerned about their load so we had to make the decision and thank god there was time for recovery. Glen Kamara influence I think in general we have a really young squad when you look at our average age in the squad. Glen, we don't have to speak about his CV he's played for Rangers where they have to win every week. It was difficult for him in the start because he didn't have a pre-season and wasn't involved that much in the second-half of last season. There's still more to come and he needs more time. He's still needs to sharpen up a bit in a physical way due to his lack of game time but the more he plays the better his endurance will be. He's a top team-mate and lad. He's a great guy to have around. On celebrations I was more or less celebrating with my team-mates, now they dance on the football pitch. If you're that capable then it's good fun and it's allowed. The right topic is having the right moves in the football boots. On character to come off the bench I'm sure Willy Gnonto would have liked to have started this game. It's about us as a group and the bench is the first up celebrating. It's all about the team and the spirit in this group. The lads respond in a positive way so long may it continue. This unity is special and it's still growing. Farke on Leicester City You have to say they deserve their point tally and to be in this position. It's remarkable, they deserve all the praise. There are many reasons, many top players who've played at Premier League level and have stability in the club, although there was the relegation, you got the feeling they got to work quickly with a core group. A well run club and it leads into now. We're full of respect and we know we have to be at our best with a top class performance. We will travel in respect but not fear. Farke on gap to Leicester and whether it matters No, no, no. Two quality sides and the floodlights will be on. Both teams want to win the points but you don't want an easy win. You want these battles but it's far away from being a final. If it's the 45th game and you need to win in order for promotion, not the 15th game. Both teams have it in their own hand. When it's direct promotion you need it after 46 games. You have everything in your own hands. At the moment we don't have to speak about promotion, direct promotion or play-offs. We need to talk about promotion and we want to win with our mates. Let the table take care of itself. After 46 games see where you are but not now. Point gaps, at the moment is not important. Farke on changing approach and counter-attacking effectiveness Our approach will never be that we park the bus and put the ball over the stand and counter over 90 yards. We want to attack the games and want to be the protagonist. We're Leeds United and we want to be like this wherever we go and wherever we play. You have to be good in all periods of the game. We dominated the second-half against Huddersfield and we want to use each and every tool to create chances. Not just with counter attacks, we were quite strong and won the ball in the opponents half. It's something we want to use but important to be rock solid with a structure off the ball. Farke on the battle for possession Bravery - it's important that you're brave enough to press the opponent. We don't want to win the possession statistic, it always has to benefit us because we think it's the best way to give yourself a chance to win the game. If you have the ball the opponent can't score. It helps you to increase your chances to win the game but it's important not to lose focus, we want to win the game. It will be difficult to stay in possession, you need periods where you have to defend rock solid Charlie Cresswell We're careful to send too many players to the Under-21s. Mateo Joseph desperately needed game time after his injury, I think during a busy schedule it's important to be more selective. We need to make some pragmatic decisions On Leeds ownership stability It's important you're in the driving seat. No player is bigger than the club even a star player. Sometimes the wind can be in your face and it can be tricky with things going on in the background. You have to work step to step to achieve stability and we're all on the same page here. Our process is quite good but there's lots of work behind the scenes and many, many areas we want and need to improve. We're definitely on the right path.
  22. There's a young lad at Swansea, Dai Namight who's a real prospect and they could make an explosive forward line for us
  23. I'm at a bit of a loss as to what the big drama is about this. He's in the last year of his contract so if he doesn't go now it's more money splunked up the wall He's been spectacularly inconsistent throughout his 6 years with us He hasn't suggested in the first 4 games that he's going to be some kind of Championship beast It's not like we're talking about losing peak Vardy. I know we have a track record of dubious business decisions, but I'd be amazed if Enzo and co haven't got a replacement/alternate squad solution crystal clear in their minds. He's always come across as a lovely bloke, but business is business.
  24. Mark Draper at the start of the ill fated 94 season, at home to Spurs - playing in a midfield with Mark Blake and Lee Philpott against a stellar (if defensively iffy) Tottenham side. Absolutely ran the show in a way I'd never seen a Leicester player do before.
  25. I can't believe in a million years that Potter would take the job - this time last year his stock as an English manager was as high as anybody, hence the approach from Chelsea. Hindsight tells us that he never stood a chance at Chelsea and his reputation has (unfairly) taken a blow. His next step to restore that previous adulation is going to have to be a carefully taken decision, and taking over us with all of the outgoings, cutting of cloth, projected lack of funds to invest is going to make it a massively risky proposition to take on. Failure of any description with us, would throw him right down the football pyramid. I just can't see it, he'll have much more attractive and risk averse propositions.
