  1. Yes it would have been amazing to secure £25m + for Mads, we have all seen his potential, he can be a brilliant keeper on his day, but let’s not be blinded he also has limitations, his lack of height is a massive issue to him becoming an elite level keeper, he is also coming off the back of a season where he has had 2 lay offs due to a niggling injury, which also may have contributed to a drop off in form. There will be different reports circulated about the fee, West Ham will be briefing journalists the fee was low. I truly believe we have secured £18m as a base fee with a number of very achievable add ons that will take the fee to over £20m + and a sell on % should West Ham sell him on for a future profit. I love Mads but I ain’t sure if this could be his peak and we have actually got the best end of the deal long term.
  2. Is Pinch of Salt a new detective programme on ITV replacing a Touch of Frost?
  3. Bet you were thrilled the day we paid £1m English pound notes for Jamie Richard Vardy from non league Fleetwood ….this guy is a decent player, quite possibly the highest rated striker playing outside the top 2 divisions of English football, at £5m this is a deal a club like us need to make, calculated risks to try and get us back on an upward trajectory.
  4. I don’t get the negativity towards him, was excellent up until his injury and IIRC there was quite a lot of concern and angst when he got injured that it would be a huge loss, however by the time he was fit, we were in decent form and he was kept out due to others form rather than him tailing off. I would have him back in a heartbeat if we could shift either or both of vesty and Faes.
  5. Superb servant to us but as with everything it’s time for a fresh start for all parties, importantly the fee and removal of his wages will give us some PSR leeway and hopefully enable us to start refreshing our squad for a new era.
  6. If this does not prove we are effectively state owned then I don’t know what does. There is so much so shite going on in the world, even on our own doorstep that is not commented on by the club and yet this is played out around our stadium. Yet another move that further disengages a club from its fanbase.
  7. Nelson or Stolycyrk for me not convinced any of the senior players want to be here so give it to either of these and start as we mean to go on.
  8. Terry Fenwick and Laurie Madden
  9. personally I would offer him £15k per week and set some performance related increases to incentivise him, £5k per week extra once he has played 50 games and another £5k per week once he has hit 20 goals for us, and also double his money when we get to premier league so if he has a stand out season this year he could be on £40-50k by next season, which wouldn’t be ridiculous for the premier league.
  10. Bilal is a very talented player however I really don’t think he is the difference in whether we go up or not, we have a lot of attacking options especially in attacking midfield. Yes he would potentially be another level in the championship but I am far from convinced we will see him hit those levels as I think he sees himself as a premier league player, hence the noise and links to other clubs by his agent, my fear would be he will be electric until the window closes in September, then tail off until December in hope of a January move and then again from Feb onwards not have the heart for the division. Our best hope is too secure the best deal we can and reinvest in players Marti can utilise to the maximum. I can see him being like Iheanacho, should be a cheat code at this level but sadly playing the likes of Oxford, PNE, Charlton et al fail to light his fire and he goes through the motions.
  11. Wonder if we compromise and agree £22.5m up front rising to £25m including add ons, rather than £25m up front plus add ons.
  12. I have a feeling if we shift Wilf. JJ and maybe a couple of other deadwood players we may well have decided to keep Mads and Bilal, think a few will end up going out on loan. Think the only way we sell one of our Crown Jewels now is if we have get offered serious money
  13. I think as soon as either Wilf or Justin is sold we do this deal, think it’s all agreed in principle but formal offer will only be made when 100% one of these outgoings is confirmed.
  14. Just another thought has crossed ny mind given if looks like Wilf and Justin are potentially moving on we will book in the region of £15m PsR profit plus shift two high earners off the books, could it be the club have decided to try and shift these types of players and keep our better players in the hope we bounce straight back up and they add to their potential sale value as a premier league club.
  15. I can still see Mads ending up at Chelsea, they have moved on both Kepa and Petrovic plus they will snaffle £28m for KDH which will give them £4m PSR profit, reckon they come in with £25m plus add ons deal. He is the perfect choice for Maresca’s brand of football and is also a far more competent keeper than Sanchez and Jorgensen.
  16. Biggest issue for me with all our deep lying midfielders is that they offer very little in terms of athleticism or in terms of being able to provide much in the way of attacking contributions, they are all so safe in possession,. Winks, Skipp, Ndidi and Soumare offer so little in creative terms and I would also say lack physical presence or athleticism. We desperately need midfielders in the profile of Adam Wharton, Declan Rice types who can effectively shield the back 4 but also contribute in our attacking play. Whilst our 4 on paper should bully most championship midfields I still feel it is woefully inadequate and unbalanced to truly dominate the division and to give us any semblance of hope should we get promoted again. And bear in mind the 4 players I have mentioned are probably earning over £200k per week between them and cost us over £80m British pounds, you would like to think they offer a little bit more to be honest.
  17. Yet another poor and ill thought out decision from the ownership, Top is up there with Frank Sinclair and Wout Faes in terms of his ability in scoring own goals.
  18. It is absolutely the right time to sell and cash in for what is a pretty decent fee, Wilf has been absolutely superb, another excellent professional who in his pomp was arguably one of the best midfield destroyers in the world, injury and perhaps staying too long has contributed to his drop off but still will be held in high regard. We are in desperate need of a refresh and sales such as this will be massive in enabling us to build a new chapter.
  19. Wonder if West Ham want him to prove his fitness prior to deal or maybe we are playing a bit of hard ball to get our desired fee
  20. Buying club can amortise but selling club book full profit or loss in the season/ year of the sale. Therefore we would show £20m + profit which we could then effectively go out and spend on 4 £25m players put them all on 5 year contracts and amortise at £5m a year and for PSR break even.
  21. Exactly even if they spend £25m on Mads if they stick him on a 5 year deal it’s only £5m a season for PSR
  22. Dion Dublin on our plane Liverpool to Faro.
  23. I can see us closing out 2 or 3 deals over the next 48/72 hours, my prediction would be Mepham, Brownhill and Kone, whilst I also think over the next 3/4 days we see the departure of Mads and Bilal.
  24. This deal makes absolute sense young striker with huge potential, at £5m is a complete no brainer on a 4 or 5 year deal you are looking at PSR of £1m to £1.25m per season. Also from a personal terms point of view you can offer him £15k-20k per week max.
  25. We really missed a trick not signing him last summer, he would have been perfect as the KDH replacement instead of signing Skipp.
