The urgency has been coached out of them

4 wins and 2 draws (dropping 4 points) needed to guarantee promotion. That's if Leeds win all 5 of their games, bringing their maximum total to 101.

Apologies if I have this incorrect or it's already been posted, but based on the current rules and debts posted so far and looking at the 3 years of rolling accounts, are we looking at being in breach of the rules for the next three years, even in the scenario where we go up and stay up? (and the rules don't change)... For 2022/23 accounts our total losses for the 3 years was 215m with an allowed loss of 105m (3 years in prem), so in breach of the rules For 2023/24 accounts our total losses for the 3 years will be 183m, IF we break even this season which is highly unlikely, with an allowed loss of 87.5 (2 prem 1 efl), so in breach of the rules. For 2024/25 accounts our total losses for the 3 years will be 90m, IF we break even this season and next (highly unlikely), with an allowed loss of 87.5 (2 prem 1 efl), so in breach of the rules. So at best, we may not be in breach until we post our 2025/26 accounts at some point in 2027 and that is based on staying in the prem and not making any more losses? So we can even accept the point deductions for the next few seasons and deal with it strategically making it more difficult to achieve on-field success or attract players, or we have a fire sale this summer and end up with a depleted squad and still probably have 2 seasons of point deductions? Even if we didn't get relegated, surely we'd have still been in the sh*t for 2-3 seasons!?

What would it take to turn on the owners?
StonyFox replied to MattFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
Most fans will be completely oblivious to the situation. Maybe, just maybe, when the points deduction hits the penny may drop for some. But as long as they can turn up, get the free coconut, watch some form of football, they'll not be bothered. -
Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'

I thought the same, but the accounts cover the last season in the prem, so surely any wage reductions would be in the next set of accounts!? I'm basing this on zero accounting knowledge -
Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'

Fingers crossed! I remember Kieran Maguire talking about Everton on his podcast last week and it sounded like they had 3 points for breaching and then 2 points for every 5m over (or something like that). If it's a maximum of 10 points that would be much better than what I was fearing. -

How does this compare to Everton and forest for context? Are we looking at a 30 point deduction if we go up?? -
Absolutely dominated Norwich and deserved the win. Having Ndidi and Ricardo back makes a big difference. Nice to see us on the front foot trying to make things happen. First home win in about 6 weeks. On to Birmingham!
-
I'm at the game. How many chances has he created compared to the space he's been in?
-
Put Ricardo at full back, and we'd be running riot down the right flank. Fatawu isolated again
-
I'd love us to turn up tomorrow and not play the inverted full back, and instead use the fullbacks to overlap the wingers. When you have wingers that like to come inside, it leaves the space they have vacated out wide, perfect for an overlapping fullback. With our tactics they come inside but we also attempt to play under lapping 8s, so the middle of the pitch gets congested and we run out of ideas. I don't think the wingers style of play suits the overall tactical plan, as maresca wants the wingers to stretch the play. We've either got to have Ricardo and JJ overlapping when Fatawu or macvidid cut inside, or maybe try swapping the wingers occasionally and ask them to go on the outside of the fullback to actually stretch the opposition and create space for the 8s. We've become so easy to defend against as our wingers are isolated and the middle is just too congested to play through when they come inside. Also, he needs to bring Coady in!
-
His last chance for me. If Enzo sticks with the same team and tactics and we don't win and put in another lackluster performance, his time here is done.
-
Lose to Norwich on Monday, and he has to go. Biggest wage bill, best squad, well clear of the chasing pack. Now likely to be third with 8 games to play. Never starts Coady despite defensive issues. Never makes substitutions to change the game. Never has a plan b. Can't motivate players when things are going badly.

Bristol City 1 - 0 LCFC Post Match Thread

Shite. Can't see us finishing above Leeds or Ipswich now. They'll be 1 and 2 today and never look back -
Playoffs it is. Just getting worse as the season goes on.
-
I think 6 wins out of 9 will be enough for top 2 and take us to 100 points. Ipswich would need to win 7, and still need 2 draws to guarantee finishing above us. The championship is a crazy league but I don't see three teams hitting the 100 points mark. Add in Ndidi and Ricardo coming back, and we will be fine.
-
If we go up and get a points deduction and need to sell our best players, it's likely we'd come straight back down again. So I'd sell them all take the money from the sales and the premier league, then play the kids. Have a season just making profit and also making a mockery of the premier league, which would devalue the league as well. Then we'd be back in the championship with money to spend and a year with no losses. I'd also sack anyone involved in us getting into this mess.
-
A striker who has a presence in the box so when teams do force us wide, we have someone who might convert a cross. All our current strikers are too similar and don't lead to a change in approach. I'm not talking about someone to lump it up to, but someone who can be involved in the build-up and win a header now and again.
-
Totally agree. I worry they spend too long on the tactical approach to the game, but miss the mental side of the game. We never seem to get angry or aggressive. Just play our football and hope it works.
-
Persisting with an inverted full back moving into the centre of the field when they have parked the bus and crowded that area is inexcusable. It was obviously not working and our wingers were isolated. Why not try a conventional full back for 15 minutes to stretch them more and give them something else to think about. I understand the principle of the inverted full back to give an overload in the middle, but when a team sits so deep and fills the centre of the pitch with players you don't get the overload. There was so much space in our right back area in the second half, it was crying for someone to move out there to stretch their midfield and offer an overlap for Fatawu.
-
Predictable and stodgy. Middlesbrough and now QPR have shown how to play against us. Should have scored two against Middlesbrough but today other than the dace before the goal did their keeper have to make a save? After seeing the Leeds result the players should have been well up for this, but the low risk playing through the middle football sucked the life out of the team. Absolutely appalling. 3 defeats, 7 conceded, lead dwindling. Hopefully playing away from home for the rest of the month might be a blessing in disguise!

Fair enough if you think losing at home to a mid table side is better than losing away to second who are the form team. -

We should have won what is considered the hardest fixture in the league, especially with the form they have been in. But we have lost two in a row before and bounced back. There are still 12 games left and if we win 8 out of 12, we'll hit 102 points. We've seen Ipswich goon a poor run, Southampton lose 2 recently, and I'm sure Leeds will drop points too. If we win 8, they all have to win 10 out of 12 to catch us, and I can't see all 2 doing that. We've been so much better than anyone else this season to build the cushion to take a couple of defeats. We'd have all taken 6 clear with 12 to go. We have a couple of tricky away games in March, but our last 7 all very winnable games. Don't panic! -

Thought we'd just turn up and win. They had a plan and executed it well. Too many sloppy passes, not aggressive or ruthless enough.
