I've been giving him the benefit of the doubt up until now. New manager, new signings, needing time to gel, but today really wasn't good enough. How can Ayew play 90 minutes and offer practically nothing, he doesn't even put in a shift. To only make 3 like for like changes when chasing a game home is pretty unforgivable. They were there for the taking in the second half, but at no point did we ever go for it. If we're not trying to win games at home against relegation rivals, then we're never going to stay up. With arsenal up next, it's going to be 3 points from 6 games. It should have been 5 from 5 today.

Odsonne Edouard joins on loan - Official
StonyFox replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
If you look at the actual minutes he played, which was 17.3 full 90 minutes, it's more like 1 in 2.5. I think he'll definitely have a positive impact on the team performances! -
It's all well and good him trying to leave, but until someone else wants him, he's not going anywhere. Should be dropped for this though

I think this is a decent signing, although it sounds like it might be on the expensive side if the 20m is correct, although I suspect that includes add-ons like staying up, which is unlikely! A central midfield of ndidi, winks and skipp sounds solid, but not very attacking. It'll be interesting to see if he ever plays those three together.

There is no panic button. We've only got 90% of the way to buying one!

Transfer Talk changes & source tier list suggestions
StonyFox replied to Finnegan's topic in Transfer Talk
Great idea. It would be a lot of work, and I don't know if anyone does this already, but tracking some of the rumours to see if they come to fruition might be interesting and show which ones are more reliable. -
It's only £12 for an actual ticket to the match. I hope no-one pays the £10!

It might end up being a car crash, but I quite like the idea of Mourinho. He's not English, but has managed in the country a long time, knows the football culture in this country, the English press, and he is a winner. But he's pretty much the complete opposite of Southgate and it's not the direction the FA will go in. It's going to be Potter or Howe.

Not a single Spanish player started all their games, whereas 8 England players started all of ours. Then Southgate turns around and talks about Spain having an extra day to recover and our players being tired. For someone who has managed a team for 8 years, he's not built a squad he trusts, he doesn't know how to manage player workload, and he doesn't know how to navigate tournament football. He took Wharton, Eze, Bowen and Gordon and barely played them. He would have been better off taking Grealish as he might have started him once or twice to rest Bellingham or Foden and actually play a left winger.

2 for 1 with Danny Ward???

Fofana? didn't he used to be a footballer?

Not quite, you need to consider the current season and your previous 2 seasons. So what we do this season (24/25) will be included in the calculation along with the past 2 (22/23 & 23/24). so if we have huge losses in one of those three seasons the other two years need to balance it out. So selling KDH apparently makes us compliant for the period 21/22, 22/23 and 23/24. But whatever we spend this coming season will be used to calculate losses for 22/23, 23/24 and 24/25. So the big losses we had in 22/23 are likely to affect us for a couple of seasons.
-
I believe it's a rolling 3 years, so whatever we do this season needs to balance out with the last two seasons as well. Including a season in the championship which reduces your allowed losses from 105m to about 85m
-
This is the key question, but unfortunately we aren't going to know the answer until the spring. With the players we sold last summer and now KDH, if we fail for 23/24 we should all boycott games due to chronic financial mismanag until there's a change a the top!

Group C: Slovenia, Denmark, Serbia, England

I've never been less excited to watch a football tournament. That's pretty much down to watching England play -
You want to watch Enzo ball watch England.
StonyFox replied to sylofox's topic in Leicester City Forum
Enzo has a tactic and a style of play. Southgate just picks 11 players and crowbars them into a 4231. With Enzo you could see what he was trying to do. Wingers stay wide, two high 8s underlapping for the wingers, inverted full back for the extra player in midfield. But with Southgate I don't think we have any identity whatsoever. It's been criminal to let him stay in the job this long and still be in a situation where he just relies on having better players than the opposition. Hence why we always lose when we come up against a decent side. -

Just watching Spain play and the balance they have with two wingers and Pedri finding pockets as the 10. Yet here we are playing several players out of position and not having a clue what we're doing. -

I suspect this was agreed when Enzo was here, and then he ****ed off. Only announced today due to the embargo ending.

Premier League 24/25 Pre-season guff (misc talking points)

Mega rich people don't like being told what to do, they'll keep chippy away at the premier league until it's exactly as they want, and screw the rest of us. -
Champions League Thread 2023/2024

Time for the ridiculous unpunished time wasting -
His tactics got him over the line with the best team in the championship, but when you realise he lost nearly 25% of the matches played, it shows that when the tactics don't work, they really don't work. Ipswich lost 6 and Burnley lost 3. No team has won the league and lost as many as we did in the past 10 years. I'm slightly disappointed he's leaving as I'd like to have seen Enzo ball in the prem, but I'm not really that devastated as I think quite a few of the managers we've been linked to this week could have done the same and lost less games.
-
If he goes we take the £10m and move on. He delivered promotion which was his main target. It would have been interesting to see how we would have performed under his tactics in the premier league, but the limitations we saw in the championship would likely be exploited even more. I can't blame him for going to Chelsea, yes they're a basket case, but we're not far off with the financial mess we're in. It'll be more money, higher profile, better players, and a massive pay off if it goes pear shaped. He may never be offered a job at a "top 6" side again, so he's got to back himself and take it.
