Sport is played as much in the head as it is on the pitch. If we collapse from here and dont finish in the top 2, we dont deserve to get promoted, because it shows a serious mental weakness. We know in the past this team has had problems getting over the line with the 2 top 4 misses and the relegation. We can't have a similar mindset. We've been the best team in the division up to now, we need to take this momentum forward and break the points record and stamp our authority as the best championship team ever. If we scrape through after a poor end of season, we'd get destroyed in the PL every week like Sheff Utd and Burnley. The run in will show us what the team and Enzo are really made of.

Very similar game to ours so far, Chelsea doing well on the counter.
-
Too many players had an off day, Winks, KDH, Mavidi, Abdul, Ricky P, JJ, Vesty all looked well below there best. Funnily enough, so many talk about Enzo's philosophy and how he won't change, but at the end I'm sure Vesty was playing as a make shift striker.
-
Personally I dont think he's good enough for the PL, and we'd be destroyed playing a high line with Vesty. But if Enzo wants him, that's good enough for me.

Whether Viktor can play in Enzo's system is a mute point because he's said publicly that he doesn't want to play a hybrid role. In an early interview he said when Enzo came in and spoke to him about his system and how he would like Viktor to play, he didnt want to do it and sees himself as a traditional LB. I dont think Enzo appreciated that and so the best bet would be for him to leave, Bologna or somewhere else, Enzo will make that clear to the board. He's a decent player but i'd be very surprised if he plays for us again.

Has someone slipped some sedatives in the water at halftime. Sloppy and we look completely disinterested in playing.

Congratulations to Gradel, lifting the AFCON trophy at the ripe old age of 36.

I'm abit gutted for Yunus. He comes on, presses from the front, scores goals and generally acts like he really wants to be here, something Praet hasn't shown in the 3-4 years he's been here. Unfortunately our perilous financial situation has finally been made clear to Enzo with the Sensi debacle, and he knows that 7M is a fortune for us and is better spent elsewhere.

This made me laugh. You make him sound like a character from shameless 😂

Yeah agree. 20 goals+ is elite level and Daka's not there atm. Also the way we play, with the striker coming deep and CMs running off him (KDH goal against Swansea) and wingers in advance positions, I think our goals will be more evenly distributed.

Rudkins too busy cleaning out Top's stables.

If Rudkin fuchs up the summer transfer window as well, then Enzo may just walk.

I don't think alot of fans are disappointed with our possession style of football, more with the decision making. Yesterday I heard audible signs of disapproval twice, once when we had a throwin in a dangerous position near the Swansea penalty box, and the ball ends up with Mads after a string of backward passes. He then hoofs the ball to nobody. The other was when we won the ball near the halfway line, Praet gets the ball, he has 2 players in space ahead of him and one to the side. He just turns around and plays it back to Vesty. I think that kind of negative play even frustrates Enzo and he shows it on the touchline. I feel if we get promoted, we'll see alot more direct football like we saw in the first 15mins against Swansea, as most PL teams play with a really high line.

Considering decent Championship players will be going for 25M+ in the summer, we may have no option but to buy cheap and develop. Yunus comes into that category. He's definitely got the technical ability, it's just his physicality that is a worry.
-
I wouldn't read too much into Sheff Utd sending him back. He was playing for a dogshit team as a LWB, which he just hasn't got the engine or end product for. It will be more interesting to see how he gets on at a decent championship team as a LB. This is a very critical few months for him.

Playing next to a pissed Hamza must've been difficult but that beautiful through ball was the best pass of the game, reminiscent of Youri at his best. A little disappointed he was subbed instead of Hamza.
-
I agree. As much as I dislike Liverpool and Klopp, he's one of their greatest managers. He took a club that was living in the past and made it into one of the best teams in the world. If it wasn't for Pep and oily Man City, they'd won numerous PL titles. Alonso must be in the bag, that's why Klopp has announced it now, with all his backroom staff leaving too.
-
He's just played 2x100min games in 3 days. I think he'll need atleast a week off and probably be ready for Stoke.

Before the first match of the season.....

I was hoping for about 2pts per games, so about 56pts. -
In all honestly, I dont think Poch has much say at what goes on at Chelsea.
-
I thought he was good, probably the best of our defenders. I think he should've been moved to RB with Doyle coming into LB later in the game.
-
Its a worrying trend, about 40% of goals we've conceded have been in the last 10mins. I think the Ipswich game is the perfect example why. They sat back, let us have the ball and we looked great. Second half, they started pressing us high and we were all over the place. More and more teams are pressing us high, unlike early in the season, and all of a sudden Faes and Vesty look vulnerable.
-
You can see it's a big drop off between him and Abdul. Maybe he's not completely match fit after a long lay off, but does seem very one dimensional.
-
Doomed to failure because there's no demand for it. Even countries with huge populations haven't been able to get football leagues off the ground, like China and India. These countries will always prefer PL and LaLiga over their own leagues.
