i didn't watch the game today so can't comment on that specifically, but there are several things that have perplexed me recently and need sorting out. Firstly corners. Not only are we terrible at defending them but equally bad at creating anything from them. Our delivery from both Mahrez & Albrighton is poor and our short corners are diabolical. When we get a throw in, its almost always guaranteed possession for the opposition. That's not even player specific, because whoever takes a throw in, the ball ends up with the opposition. Another worrying aspect is Kasper's kicking. If Puel wants to play a more possession based game how can he allow Kasper to keep kicking the ball long to the opposition. He really needs a word with him. Finally why hasn't Puel learnt that against the top teams, that are going to have a lot of possession, we need Shinji. Grey might be a technically better footballer, but Shinji gives us workrate and helps to win the ball back further up the pitch. Overall i'm more positive about Puel now then when he was hired.

Pretty much what he's been doing for the last several months. I think the measure of a player is how important he is to a team, and without Mahrez we'd be hovering around the relegation zone.

I think he should've been given a chance against Man City instead of Chilwell. The way they defend with their fullbacks up, would have been ideal for Musa with his pace. Sadly if a 20yr LB is starting ahead of him on the wing, he's finished here.

Sadly his first touch is not of a 25M international striker. Infact the goal we conceded was because his 1st touch knocked the ball about 5ft away from him. On another occasion he got behind the Man City defence but his 1st touch knocked the ball back to the defender. Laughable if he wasn't one of our players.

Like i said earlier in the thread, ive followed his career closely for several years and ive seen little to no improvement in his basic skills like passing and crossing the ball.

Absolutely. Chilwell gets praise because he's full of energy and runs up and down the touchline, but he never beats the first man when crossing and is susceptible at the back. His defence will get better with game time, but his crossing has always been poor and hasn't improved at all in all the years I've seen him play.

Grey was decent 6, the rest 4s. Notable exceptions being Iborra, Marez & N'Didi who all get a 3.

Like i said in the match thread, N'didi's fall was late and dramatic but McCarthy definitely clipped his ankles. If contact is made how can that be a yellow? It may not be a penalty if the ref deems the contact wasn't strong enough. On top of which Zaha had Atkinson in his pocket. Whenever he fell, he'd look back at him and he'd blow for a foul. They almost had a telepathic communication. The only thing poorer then Atkinson was our performance.
