He wasn’t unhappy. He became unhappy following the palace interest. If he was injured, clubs wouldn’t buy him because he was injured. It wouldn’t be us not letting him move, therefore he couldn’t really hold it against us. He would then become fit again, and want to put himself in the shop window for a move and also for the national team.

I doubt it, I think bilal being injured would actually work in our favour.

I haven’t felt so positive about a manager in a long time. Im making a conscious effort to share my positivity and praise on ft where it’s due, because there’s so many with a negative mindset. Marti has been in the job just over a month. Hardly any pre season, no money to spend, and loads of deadwood that the fanbase can’t stand. We’ve got 9 points from 12. Our youngsters and being shown faith by the manager, and are doing well. He’s shown he won’t take any nonsense by leaving BEK out. Winks is clearly out of the starting 11 for non footballing reasons too, which I have to admire because ability wise he is good. Marti has got large cojones, which is refreshing and what we have been crying out for as a club. Not for one minute saying he’s the best manager in the world. But for where we are as a club right now, I can’t really fault him, because there are so many positives. Really looking forward to showing my support for the manager in the coming months, and seeing what he does with our squad once the deadline shuts and things become more cohesive with time.

Thanks for this Ric. I was trying to say similar in my earlier post. It’s all part of the process, and we need to share the faith marti has and be a bit patient with the lad when he makes small mistakes. The finished article could be phenomenal.
-
Appreciate this. He made about 4 mistakes, and they weren’t big or critical, the rest of his game was really positive. He was putting himself in positions bravely, where it was easy to make mistakes. I think if we counted how many mistakes our senior, experienced players make, they would have been much higher. Daka for example, in the short time he was on the pitch, was classic patson.

So much negative in here it’s mad. I really enjoyed his performance last night. He showed more heart and enthusiasm than we see from many of the squad in recent times. He was lively. These young players will make mistakes, they are learning. This is a process that we have to accept to reap the rewards later on. Save your criticisms and negative energy for those who deserve it - take your pick, there’s plenty, page isn’t one of them. We need to be patient and positive towards these young lads who show a lot of promise, and are doing incredibly well given their age and lack of experience in men’s football. We need to champion them, nurture and help them grow.

Could there be some pure profit interest in Jakub?

Really? 3 keepers would be better?

Bilal El Khannouss (Stuttgart loan, official)

As much as I love BEK, we have too many players who don’t want to be here. The more we have, the bigger the cancer grows over time. Get rid for 25-30m and bring a few in that want to fight for the shirt and be part of something, even if they don’t match his quality and intensiteeeeee. -
For those who have mentioned him being a winger having never played central etc etc… marti has spoken a lot about players playing different roles to solve solutions. i highly suspect that if this comes off we could see mavididi come central, either behind or in front of ayew.

I actually like it. I’ll buy one when they go on sale at the end of the season. i didn’t like it when i first saw it, but it has grown on me a lot.

Jim was very helpful when I needed his help a few years ago! Can’t fault the bloke!
-
Literally the only circumstance we should sign him.
-
He could do really well in Italy. I wouldn’t be surprised one bit if he signed a one year deal and then ended up at a bigger Italian club the year after.
-
I suggested this to my Geordie mate a while back, would pair well with Barnes too. Seems like a no brainer of a move. They need 2 strikers as they need replace Wilson and Isak. Even if vardy is the Wilson replacement, it’s a no brainer.

Mads Hermansen sold to West Ham - Official

How this has played out is hilarious. West Ham doing a Forest and signing another goalkeeper would be priceless. -
Get us the big brutal Serb rudders!

Victor Kristiansen (an option for Forest, Percy.)

Please let this be true. Perfectly fine with Thomas as LB in this league. Kristianssen is awful, and has delusions of grandeur. Get out of our club ya tw@. -
I actually like him, and think he’s a solid option at this level. Loves the club and is reliable. I really don’t understand the hate for the guy. There’s others stinking the place out a lot more than hamza. That said, I would sell him if a decent offer came in, I just don’t understand the hate for the lad. He’s never going to set the world alight, but he is good enough to play as either a holding player or a rb at this level. He’s paid more than he deserves, that’s a given, but the wages to quality ratio isn’t as bad as some. Due to the combination of big wages, not a star player, homegrown so pure profit, I wouldn’t hesitate to sell, but he would be fairly low down on priorities of who to get rid of.
-
I think if a good offer came in we would accept due to pure profit.

Championing this mate, I feel exactly the same way and made a post yesterday saying similar. He’s done well so far, in a near impossible job, just need to keep grinding the points out. I think it’s important we aren’t too critical of him, he’s been in the job a couple of weeks, inherited a mess, and hasn’t been able to bring any players in. And we all know how bad the ones he’s inherited are. He’s been brave in incorporating the youth, but we would be very naive to think play then all at once every game is the answer as they have never played senior football before. Ultimately we need to support and remain patient with marti and the young ones. I couldnt care less about the board, and the rotten core of the squad that have been stinking us out for years.

I think at 5m this is a pretty smart move. if we consider that we may be losing mavididi too, I don’t think 5m for a winger is bad business. Especially of mav were to go for 15m For example. i can’t believe stengs is 26, I remember him being a wonderkid on fm😂 he’s clearly got talent. 5m for a winger that can also operate as a 10 in todays market really isn’t bad at all, even if he has struggled with injuries. We’ve got other options out wide so we won’t be completely reliant on him. theres no denying though that other positions are a priority, but like I alluded to at the beginning of my post, we don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes in terms of outgoings.

James Justin (signed for Leeds, official. 10m.)
dooflip replied to SouthStandUpperTier's topic in Transfer Talk
Really smart business here. Always liked JJ but he has become a liability. Last year of his contact, we can laugh all the way to the bank. -
It was a joke in relation to toys and their ownership.

We need to stick by this guy. We are an absolute mess, and he’s doing alright. Never my first choice, but I’m in support of him 100%. I hope we can continue to back him from the stands. 6 points from 9 with everything that’s going on, having to start page among with other issues with yesterdays lineup is more than acceptable at this point. He’s only been in the job a few weeks. Given how doom and gloom we have all been, I think it’s what we were expecting, maybe even better. Getting points on the board is the main objective at the moment, grinding and getting results, even if the performances are awful. Lets be honest, we’ve not been a club that’s had a lot of luck for a long time, so if we ride our luck this year and get results that we don’t deserve, its about time. I really hope we can get the squad settled, get a few more players out so he can bring in a few he believes fit the system he wants to play. Chair comes in on deadline day and everyone can sit down and relax.
