Evans was a known talker/moaner on the pitch. He could probably talk me or you to a semblance of a decent game. All of a sudden, 10 games in he's part of the squad. And vaguely useful as a filler for the European squad homegrown rosta. He's up to 20 games.. And he's got a career. Pure happenstance and luck. They'll be youth team players who pissed all over him every training session currently working shifts at Amazon wondering what the hell happened

Well, some of us been all over him since his second game for us way back. The real miracle is how many professional managers have selected him. People who study the game 24/7. I find it baffling. There must an academic study how professional coaches can't see what the average mug punter can.

Agree on this. And picking up on your previous point, I don't necessarily think it's all luck whether a manager succeeds. Some managers just fit. On that point, I think the OGS vibes are perfect for us. There's just something right about him for us. The slight element of misfit, of unfancied but at the same time has that against-all-odds winner about him (in a similar way to MON)

Agree. For me he's fourth in line this season behind Thomas, Reid and Ayew for horrific performances. He's been far far worse than everyone's bet noire, Wout Faes. Obvs he has credit in the bank which immunises him from the type of stick he'd get ordinarily.

You don't have to play a 10. Especially when it's proven week after week after week not to work. Most supporters are quick to call out Faes or Vestergaard or Hamza or Daka or Soumare. Yet inexplicably, seem (relatively) content with this lad. He isn't professional level. He's cooked. He's a virus. Ive rarely seen worse represent us. Only Ward and Thomas are worse in recent years. He just cannot compete at this level of football - it's all too fast, too strong for his frail frame.
