This is drivel. Another manager may come up with more than just the exact same team and exact same tactics ( that don't work ) every week. Another manager may look at the running stats.. Another manager could drop Thomas from the entire 25 man squad It's a moot point, as there is no way he's being sacked. The club are in a financial position that they need to save a grand or two on pies for the stewarding staff. The manager could take a slash on the Vichai statue after an 8-0 drubbing and he still wouldn't be sacked.
-
This wasn't the case though. Hamza was ropey to say the least. But... We won the game (somehow). He didn't directly cost us two goals. He's quick and fit. He's strong in the tackle And if you don't believe me, then ask Sheffield United fans who they would prefer back, Hamza or Luke.
-
Agree. And I feel bad for digging him out. The sad truth is, the club won't sack the manager. The manager seems unaware of how poor Thomas is. So, the fans have to point it out. We shouldn't have to. What a state of affairs.
-
You just can't respect a manager that selects Luke Thomas. For even a single game. Let alone repeatedly. I didn't like Maresca. But he at least recognised what any normal football person would see and took action; relegated Ward to ball boy. And essentially banned Thomas from the training ground (more or less after one session)
-
We all like being right. I called him in July 2020 (on here) after his second game. Obvs not in a nasty way, he was a kid. But it was as clear as a cloudless night he wasn't up to it. 5 years later, he's still a kid, had 150+ professional games, had years of elite coaching/conditioning and inexplicably he's the same..
-
It's no coincidence that we have the worst defence on the league.
-
Mate, there's zero chance he's sacked. Zero. Unless he pays his own salary
-
Thought by his standards he was pretty decent. Directly cost us one goal (and the game) and also created two big first half chances for them. A huge improvement.
-
The difference hard work makes, eh? Even to Thomas (error strewn, but at least he isn't passive today) and BdcR.
-
And run. Hamza can run and out in a shift. As can Daka. As can Page. If nothing else, those lads can run. Reid can't. Ayew can't. Thomas can't
-
Mate, if are happy play Luke Thomas and only 'probably' drop Bob Reid you need to find a new hobby
-
How on earth can you be worried about Stephy when Thomas and Bob Reid are playing?
-
The running stats destroyed as per. Ayew on his arse for 95 mins. Reid mincing about picking up daisies and strawberries in a floral dress. Thomas being mistaken for Stephen Hawkings
-
You have to winder if the manager is well. The very first three names on the team sheet are the very last three any sane person would select. It's disgusting. Deranged

Say the same every weekend What little enthusiasm I have for a second division, mid table side is totally extinguished when Thomas, BdcR and to a lesser extent Ayew all start. The only thing less than my enthusiasm are the running stats -

he was booed onto the pitch - only to hear the hypocrisy of the same fans cheering his winning goal a few minutes later.. I think he was entitled to give a bit back..- 249 replies

I've crack handedly tried to make the point on this and other threads, me personally don't know if Faes is a bell end. I've never seen any evidence that he is. Plenty on here say you can read his body language or that you can see he 'blames others' or that he's arrogant or a bell end .. but, none of those is exactly a smoking gun. Honestly, to me, he seems a decent enough fella. I mean, I don't know that. That's just me reading his social cues, which obvs might be wildly wrong. We can agree his time at Leicester has been a disaster for all parties. I just think the club itself is as much to blame for that as Faes. Probably more so. -

Reading that the Dept for Transport is investing in rail upgrades the north again, Manchester (of course) and moves to reopen the leamside line in the north east.. No word on the upgrades needed at Nuneaton for the Cov line and obvs no mention of the Ivanhoe (Incredible seeing as it's reopening is such as easy win. The line is already there FFS)

Largely agree. The vitriol directed at him,.gonna use some pop psychology here, says more about those criticising him than Faes. He's became a scapegoat and object of fans' personal frustrations -

JJ is exactly the example why I feel Faes gets an unfair ride.. Our environment since the Rodgers relegation season isn't conducive to players thriving. JJ needed to move the prosper. Youri needed to move. Barnes tbf has basically been the same. Hamza enjoyed his time at Sheffield Utd. Iversen enjoyed Stoke and Preston..VK enjoyed Italy. Souttar enjoyed Sheffield United. Soumare enjoyed Seville. There's a stink of death that envelopes the club. Edit; conversely, having just watched on YouTube spurs v city from 10 years ago, the ultra positive working environment propelled pretty standard players; simmo, Albrighton, shinji, Fuchs, Ulloa, Kingy into levels they hadn't dreamed of. -

Thats kinda my point. The club has been a car crash the minute he walked through the door. And he gets a large portion of blame for it. But I listed some of the reasons why his time with us has gone badly. It's not all his fault. That's my point. He's likely a decent 15m level player, ie what we bought, who's been playing in a car crash of a football club. Very few could thrive - and enjoy - that environment. As a professional (ie a hired gun) footballer, he's within his rights to prefer a career move to a more stable, more positive environment -

He's played with Daniel Amartey as his partner. He's played with no goalkeeper behind him for 20 games (as evidenced at Liverpool with his double own goal..he didn't trust the shout). He's played with the slowest man on earth in Vesty. He's played with the worst player in our history with Luke Thomas..He's worked with three of the worst managers possible to find, and another who had mentally checked out. And all the time, taken a shit load of abuse online which, lots of probably stems from simply wearing an extravert's haircut.. -

Blimey. And we wonder why most the players hate us and all choose to live in Nottingham? A half decent but flawed defender. Bought at 15m to replace a 75m player and the manager chose not to field a goalkeeper behind him for his first 20 games, which, frankly, can't have helped. I have no insight at all if he's a nice enough fella (seems it to me) or the arrogant nasty bstard he's assumed to be by 99.999% on here. I've never even heard him speak to make a call either way.
