Waste of money, let them sort it out on the pitch. And I guarantee they will go man for man and mark men not zones.

Underperformer of the Season – the nominees

After 3 lollipops he comes inside predictably on his right foot gets snuffed out easily by a double up. I could mark him at 66, and I couldn’t tackle a good dinner! -

So pleased we have a set piece coach, that’s 12 now. At least we look dangerous attacking corners…….oh wait……. Save a bob or two and get rid of him. These coaches are for the prem teams who have money to chuck away. -
I’m a stuck record “ cos they’re playing on the wrong wings!!”

Players the worst versions of themselves at LCFC

Two words, poor coaching. -
Southampton against the Arse showed the value of a big man up top, that can be still picked up in the lower leagues or Scotland (He was Ross County), and imo we need one as a hold up to bring in the midfield , but he’s got to be more mobile than Vesty. No problem with him being used up there with 15 minutes to go though, and certainly more than the two or three he got on Friday.

Well is it different for corners then? Games gone!

LCFC 2-2 Preston, post-match thread

Bit harsh on Thomas’s only blemish of the game, particularly when you never know whether Mav is sticking or twisting. He’s been a big problem down our left all season as well. Rowett or Davison have improved Thomas I think, he played well. It’s a very low bar but that was probably our best home display of the season, they even attacked the kop for the first time in two seasons. -
LCFC 2-2 Preston, post-match thread

All we need to do in the next 6 games is play the wingers on their correct sides for better crosses and chance creation, man mark at corners making the markers accountable ( what a dreadful goal), and on said corners leave Fatawu and Mavadidi (at least) up top out the way emptying the box and creating breakaway chances, and we may improve even more. And he’s actually called a set piece coach!!! -
At Preston they murdered us down our right.
-
Our wingers need to be put on their correct side, more difficult to double up on a winger who only needs to get it out his feet and whip it in Ala Albrighton. I guarantee we’d look more dangerous. Who knows Daka might read the odd early ball in and shin one in now and then. Mavs isn’t particularly quick but nobody in this league could do Fatawu for pace down the outside. If they want to cut in then, do it on your wrong foot.

I base it on the relevant wage bills of each poor era, and this crowd eclipses the others by miles.

Wow 18, you lucky so and so, on my reckoning I think this’ll be the first time you’ve seen us crap. It’s been many cycles for me,( first game mid sixties and only watched them when I wasn’t playing in the mid 70’s and 80’s )but this is the worst by far.
-
After 2 1/2 seasons I’m beginning to think their skills are very deniable.
-
Any coach ( and they’re many because they go to the same school) who doesn’t leave a couple up for defensive corners, is no coach in my eyes.
-
I can’t help but see the irony of the situation where protests are concerned. I remember standing and protesting against the board in the 70’s, those protests were against the board for selling our best players and not spending any money ( even a fanzine was called “where’s the money gone ). Now the protests ( correctly by the way) are against the board for spending too much poorly wages and fees, and letting quality go for nowt! Ironic. We’re down by the way.
-
And possession is no good if those on the ball are your centre halves! I’d sooner see hoofball and get the midfield to pick up second balls higher up the pitch, sadly the squad has been assembled with sub standard tip tap merchants, so they can’t run intensively. And if we don’t radically change the style of play ( and a succession of managers haven’t) then this lot will struggle in the third tier too.
-
The thought of playing a Wolves or a Burnley or a Spurs is absolutely frightening when we can’t perform against all these no marks we’ve lost too. We’ve got to take our medicine, assemble a young side that wins in div1 and move on, hopefully with new owners. Let’s face it once you’re out the premier it doesn’t Matter what league you’re in they’re all massively sub standard, and as a fan I just want to see a side I can be proud of again.

If I was Rowett I’d swap the men with the women and have them train at Belvoir Drive till the end of the season and send the girls to the spa. Make the showers cold too!
-
I agree that’s why he’s being picked, but experience of what exactly, he’s won nowt and done nowt. Mukasa did more in his first minute on the pitch and will go on to have a cabinet full of medals.
-
For him and most centre halves. As Clough used to say, “ you’re a centre half son , your job is to head it and kick it, anything else is a bonus!”

Agree with this, man management apart, which is vitally important, coaches are ten a penny, they all go on the same courses. Thinking outside the box and spending the money on the top scouts and recruiting must be the way forward? Look at Brentford for gods sake, who’s finding their diamonds? And they promoted a coach from the boot room. We need to poach some of these recruiters and spend more on the back room.
