  1. My hope, not my expectation was that we would stay up, unless a bigger miracle happens than in 2015, we are going down in a more disappointing fashion than in 2023. Another thread listed Rudders 20+ cock ups over the last 5+ seasons. 35 months ago we were about to beat Eindhoven in the Netherlands and go to Rome. We are about to be relegated for a 2nd time since then. I think that is the likely result as I was at Fulham, Brentford & most embarrassingly West Ham. We can't score, we can't defend, its tough to get results from that base, however easy on paper we think the run in might be. When Enzo left what did Top and Rudkin hope for??? They employed Cooper (beggars couldn't be choosers), they spent £60m in almost total wastage, Skipp, Edouard, Michael Golding (who), BDCR, Ayew (are they both a real threat?). They sacked him, why??? They bought RVN in because "RVN's communication skills and charisma impressed the club's hierarchy, according to sources at United, they liked him from the outset, leading to his appointment at Leicester. "Top is expecting great things from Van Nistelrooy, signing him to a deal that runs until 2027." They must have known or guessed ALL ALONG, they had financially mismanaged the club OR they are deluded. Last time out 2023, he came out with this soundbite: "We share the loss and the pain of relegation together. But we will be back.” To them what did being back mean?? “Today we share the loss and the pain together. But we will be back. This responsibility that I continue to live is one of the greatest responsibilities in my life and I will continue to put everything into it – my passion, that of my family and the entire King Power community.” I think most of us would ask really???, The mistakes are one followed by another from last July, don't match up to those statements and "that supposed passion". I feel ambivalent now, frustrated at the wasted opportunity, the stupid decisions one on top of the other repeatedly, angry at the whole structure, the silence or acceptance of responsibility for the owners & decision makers, RVN's repeated interview BS as he sleepwalks through numerous games where we can't score, most of the players laying down their tools at the London Stadium. Having read Foxes talk since Christmas particularly I think I understand what most on here think. The big question I presume we will never find out as they never communicate is what did Top/Rudkin/the decision makers hope for from this season when Cooper joined/they spent £60m/they sacked Cooper/they employed RVN/they had a net spend of -£7m in Jan How did you deal with that responsibility? What did you hope for this season?
  2. Nah, can't see it, that will really light the blue touchpaper. At the moment the discontent is coz we're crap and no direction or admission is being communicated. Financial knockbacks/increases, will really increase the groundswell and unhappiness.
  3. I'm with the 46%, Just right, AND its generally my means of watching what happened. Game length is about right 7-8 mins, manager interview, watch the ones I don't mind or have got the hump, FF thru the ones don't want to hear about. Watch some analysis but again FF thru the waffle. Perfect. done in 45m to an hour instead of 70-80m. Mr Shah hasn't got a clue, viewing figures are small compared to back in the day, it gets way more press than it deserves, nobody was bothered about MOTD for years & years. I would suspect that the focus on Lineker's salary, public comments & activity on social is why this guy thinks its a vehicle to make comment about. It does the job for those that want to watch, its changing anyway with new presenters, leave it primarily as is.
  4. Booked flights & accommodation just need to get tickets, taking in last 3 tests if I get tickets, lad going for 4, he got loads of time off work somehow. I backpacked in 98/99 & went to Adelaide for 3 days & ODI in Sydney, lost both
  5. Somebody on the BBC chat has got it right I think IF we can afford to sack him. David: Bin Ruud van Nistelrooy and put Brian Barry-Murphy in charge for the rest of the season. The players apparently respect him, he has some management experience, plus there's his association with Pep Guardiola. We are going down, but let's at least do it with our dignity intact. He'll have a chance to bag the job IF he gets a response from the players over the last 1/4 of the season, aspiration can be a great driver can't be any worse than the records RVN is and will set. Somebody needs the chance to kick arse, Ruud is stealing a living now. And so are the slackers in the team, Vardy GOAT has missed chances in most of the last half a dozen games, get Daka on with him or swap, can't be any worse based on form, attitude & results. Maybe go 5 at the back now Ricky will be back, god knows BUT change something or the manager.
  6. Yes I’m going & work expenses are paying to get there & back, obviously if we are 3-0 down after 30 mins might leave early which means I get home early 😀👍💙
  7. Why would you go??? Midweek, hard to get time off work & travel is challenging & we are getting battered in every game & nothing is changing. I've done plenty of Lancashire midweekeers last 5-10 years & they are ballbusters if you are driving You want some hope and positivity when you go to a game Man City ain't great but they're not Tottenham This'll be like West Ham which I am attending tomorrow nobody there
  8. Now we’re not taking this seriously Then again everybody at the club started that Friday. As much as most now think Liverpool are champions the bottom 3 are now heading down. Well before the end of the season not many if any will care, the anger & frustration will pass over the month & apathy will be the order of the day.
  9. Well he’s conceded a shedload since he’s come back
  10. We’re wasting our breadth on RVN out, they have said they can’t afford to sack AND he’s holding in for his pay off. Impasse.
  11. It’s an amalgamation of issues & we are at the point of the perfect storm sadly. 3 years of poor decision making by Top & Rudkin, continual poor contracts, generally horrendous player acquisition, then picking Cooper, wasting £60m on Skipp, Ayew, BDCR & Edouard & then picking a manager because they had to with VERY limited experience & not for a relegation battle AND leaving him with a horrendously limited squad, who now 75% don’t care. Hence last nights debacle. And a losing relegation battle upcoming.
  12. Thats mathematically impossible we concede 2.2 goals a game (25 games, 55 goals), I keep saying it we walk over the white lines at the start of the game 2-0 down. So we have to score 3 times to win.
  13. This is a very meritorious approach, we cannot take that away from the club, but the groundwork they have laid over the last 2-5 years generates the feedback we see in this chat which is more than a shame and where the fans on here are with this club/ownership. I totally understand both sides of this and find it a shame it is so divisive, but we are where we are. My one comment is great charities all, and totally deserving BUT the Vichai Foundation runs every season and picks a number of charities, and this is a rhetorical question, BUT why from February 21 to May 3rd??? Should this not have happened in Sept/Oct/Nov etc. and brought these wonderful charities to our notice much earlier, where we might ALL have donated earlier and more whilst raising our awareness.
  14. How does the entrance to the East stand get built into a street of housing??? Lovely Hillman Imp too
  15. This line is interesting in light of the kick off date? Man City (a) - Weds 2 April - 19.45 Tickets for this fixture will be posted out week commencing 1 April April Fool????
  16. NOBODY NOBODY should be spending that tenner, they let the club and the fans downs between 1st Jan and 3rd Feb by banking £7m not investing to stay up. Aside from the previous 3 years of debacles Go Away LCFC Merchandise arm
  17. Problem is, we almost step out at 3pm every Saturday or whatever stupid time TV takes us too and at that second when the whistle blows, this team is 2-0 down. So take it from there 24/25 Foxes........... Its a tough ask
  18. Thats a good shout BUT Stephy just isn't up to it at this level, impact sub no more, Soumare instead of Stephy
  19. Which 3 spectators behind the goal is he knocking out???
  20. The paradox we find ourselves in is that the upper echelons didn’t think a 38yo striker who scored 4 Premier league goals last time out with a more creative side behind him AND a 4 year proved striker who sadly can’t hit a barn door with a banjo AND possibly the worst ever loan deal the club has done were entrusted as our firepower for our battle for safety
  21. Think you probably got it about right, its over that 6 month period, Rodgers was getting bored/demotivated, Top & Rudkin didn't invest, Rodgers spat the dummy, we looked a couple of times like we might right the ship & then they left his sacking too late, shouldn't have had Waldorf & Statler in charge for Bournemouth & Villa, Madders missed peno & the club crumbled. Enzo took a strong base and got us back up, then PSR scared managers & players away. They wasted loads of money on Edouard, BDCR, Skipp, probably Ayew, and we are where we are. I said 5 years after we went down, wasn't expecting this immediate return, thought we'd survive, their PSR stupidity, never gave us a chance this season & then like domino's they make bad mistake after bad mistake & the successes are temporary or paper over the cracks, Mads, Fatawu (though he hasn't truly proved it yet in the top flight) & BEK. We'll go down at a lower base than 2 years ago, that is just crass mismanagement & stupidity.
  22. Know its not at the festival BUT saw Fatty Owls in London on Saturday & it was great, really funny. The bloke playing Basil Fawlty is brilliant. They intersperse the Germans, Communication Problems & the Hotel Inspector, TRUE comedy gold, recommended. This is a funny as it gets: Guest: "When I pay for a view, I expect something more interesting than that." Basil: "But that is Torquay, madam." Guest: "Well it's not good enough." Basil: "Well may I ask what you expected to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House perhaps? The Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically across the plain..." Guest: "Don't be silly. I expect to be able to see the sea." Basil: "You can see the sea! It's over there between the land and the sky!" Guest: "I'd need a telescope to see that." Basil: "Well might I suggest you move to a hotel closer to the sea. Or preferably in it."
  23. Is that after we wasted a lot of money on Skipp, Edouard and to a lesser extent BCDR & Ayew, it was a horrendous window, get that 2/3's right and we might stay up, the only find was Bilal, 3 of those and we have a real chance. We decided to place our faith in a 38yo striker & the back 4 that took us down last time & isn't fit for this level. In terms of embargo, as Forest have proved, better to stay up and be in it, than down and battling the super competitive league & slog that is the Championship with no promotion guarantees. Different opinions, I would have gambled in Jan, not big we couldn't as we wasted it all last Summer, but certainly something at centre half & a winger or striker & blown Edouard out. Its gone now, we will be super lucky to stay up now, this manager isn't fit for a relegation battle AND the players aren't good enough as a squad for this level, I was at Everton, it was all there, along with Palace, Wolves & Fulham. They have to find some way to stop the ball going in the net & they can't. Tottenham was an aberration, they were worse than us, much as it was enjoyable to be there after being at the 6-2 last time out.
  24. The board & club gave up on the 1st Jan & just kept us hanging on till the 3rd Feb, close it. As I said on another transfer thread: Don’t know why we do these things to ourselves……….? So in July/Aug 24, was the thread who do we need………and we came up with……… Jordan Ayew BDCR odsonne Edouard Oliver Skipp, tell you what, let’s pay £20m for him So every common sense suggestion doesn’t get anywhere close to the quality that the LCFC brains & money trust come up with. EVERY time We have no idea what they as a group expect to achieve over the next 18-24 months AND they said they aren't getting rid of Ruud coz they can't afford to.
  25. I did get an invite and then forgot to attend, so annoyed with myself. BUT as I said I've been on both sides, didn't have many points from the start, so just had to do the hard yards on aways, been to about 60 over the last 6-7 season, so have now got up to 570+, but bad timing meant I didn't have enough to go to the FA Cup final. Couldn't get to Forest in the Cup, never Brentford our Bournemouth. But for me, the 50pts for home ST has always been an issue, they're getting a massive reward for NOT going to away games, thats why I couldn't get to the Cup Final, think I had already done 20-30 aways to that point, but didn't have more than 401/2 at that point. So an Away tickets should be worth 3-4 pts IF they continue with the 50pts, if they reduce that 50 in some away IF you go to every away you could prospectively get more than the home 50pts, so 19 aways=57pts for example. They are then being rewarded and actually gaining benefit from going to AWAY games. Which is how it should work. They probably need to redress over 2 seasons, to clear everybody down to 0 would probably be a bit mad.
