Bournemouth (H) Pre match thread (05.10.24, 3pm)
iancognito replied to Nolucklcfc's topic in Leicester City Forum
100% There's only so long we can rely on teams below us being worse. Probably go as far as to say we need 7 from the next 9. -
Good Lord.

Absolutely no-one can say he's been any good this season. Don't even pretend you think he's better than Ricardo in that position. At least half our goals have come down his side. Can't deny the quality of the hit though. Pavard-esque. -

We were a better side than half the league 4 years ago. The drop off is ridiculous and when these patronising f**** on Talksport and Sky talk about Leicester fans being above their station and deluded they forget where we've fallen from not where we were 6 months ago -
Will The Board Ever Admit They Might Be Wrong?
iancognito replied to Parafox's topic in Leicester City Forum
We used to laugh at clubs that were run like this - and in the last few years too. We had 7 or 8 years where United, Villa, Spurs, Newcastle and others were all in that "transition" period - and we had a chance to put a marker down and be up there. We blew it and now we're back to square one. The club know it but carry on regardless. -
Not on these pages and definitely not by me that's for sure. I could almost understand if Cooper was starting away games with Ayew or BDR as he'd be arguing he's keeping things tight early on. There's no excuse for not having Fatawu and Mavididi out there for a home game where we're expected to win. All of this stuff in the media about giving him time whilst he finds the right line up is crap as well. He had all of pre-season and already 5 games to try it out, he sees them every day in training. Call it what it is, a baffling, negative starting line up and outrageously poor substitutions.

Will The Board Ever Admit They Might Be Wrong?

When does any board at any club announce such a thing? Only a new ownership would announce what was previously wrong and we all know that change isn't coming anytime soon. -
TBH this BS rumour story didn't deserve 5 pages but this is why they keep printing this crap. Another Cooper in/out debate, another round of speculation with no substance.
-
A lot of selective memory here whilst you're being objective. Only the Palace game where we were actually ahead, Spurs played us off the park and only shocking finishing stopped them going in 3 or 4 up at half time. Everton wasn't a bad day at the office, it was a poor team selection, lack of subs and lack of creativity against one of the weakest sides in the division. I've rarely seen a manager where so many fans disagree with his team selection every week. Rarely seen someone clearly leaving out better players in favour of "being solid". Objectively, Cooper isn't a positive influence on these players

We all know how Man City are already picking outside their catchment and how Liverpool are proudly boasting about the kid they stole from us last season. It will always be this way. Seagrave could have Messi as coach and be based in Mauritius and they'd always still get lured away to the bigger clubs because we're just Leicester.
-
I'm loathe to say I don't care but the main aim this season is to stay up. I can't get excited about the league cup when we're struggling to create chances Vs Walsall (or anyone else for that matter) Maybe by the next round we'll have an XI with attacking intent but right now the thought of a young, hungry Man City / Liverpool / Arsenal u23 side coming up against these defensive, mentally frail Cooper cast offs is not appealing😟
-
The trouble with Winks is he spent most of last season saying Maresca was the best coach he's ever worked with and once you state that there's nowhere to go. Most of these guys achieved something for the first time with a coach who then jumped ship. If Cooper's methods don't produce wins they'll all be thinking the same thing - can this guy cut it? But you won't get that confirmed by a source like Sports Insider.
-
We used to get told MON had no interest in training
-
Vesty will be asking the same question as when Rodgers signed him - why sign me then not play me? You can see with all of them they're not happy, whether that's the manager of just the not winning it's hard to tell.
-
It's alright saying he was average at best but if the guy comes in and benches you for all but the league cup you're hardly going to go out there and give an extra 10% Vs Walsall. If we go out in the next round Ricardo knows he's not got another game til January, same with 2 or 3 others. There's no motivation to perform when you know even a hat trick won't get you into the team on Saturday.

You normally find a few top keepers that are great shot stoppers but utterly w^nk at penalties, this guy seems to have developed in reverse 🤪

Is the charisma of a manager a winning quality ?
iancognito replied to Elsie Effcee's topic in Leicester City Forum
Wenger wasn't exactly charismatic but he gave Arsenal their best years. You could probably say the same for Pearson down here. Leader and great man manager but he wouldn't be in your top 5 charismatic characters. There's a lot to be said for right person with the right players at the right time too -
I can't see that one getting past the Approval Committee somehow. Give the birthday messages a go. Happy Birthday to my Uncle STEVE PLAYRICARDOYOUKNOB
-
Their goal sums Justin up. He lost his man time and again. It's happened all season. There's this feeling with some that because he's banged in a couple of blinders - so did Gary Coatsworth btw - that he's an outstanding full back but I just don't see it and definitely not ahead of Ricky. We're expecting to do better with the players at his disposal against sides like Palace, Everton and maybe even Fulham. These aren't bonus fixtures, they're games we need to be winning, especially at home. And so far bizarre starting line ups combined with poor subs have cost us points in all of them. I'm giving him a chance as I said I would but with Bournemouth and Saints coming up we can't keep tossing points away.
-
I never had an issue with so-called player power. I'd rather have player power than 25 mercenaries not giving a shit like we had pre-Pearson. The worry is the team spirit we rebuilt last season will drift away. The likes of Coady, Winks, Ricardo and Vardy need to speak up.
-
He's probably got Southampton and Bournemouth to get at least 4 points before questions are asked by our inept board. A second relegation in 3 years would be crippling and he doesn't have the credit in the bank that Rodgers had
-
This team can stay up but after today I'm not sure they can stay up with this manager. Flat, uninspiring, dross. Fatawu and Ricardo not starting in this side is almost criminal.
-
Worst game in a City shirt by far. Couldn't find a pass, couldn't retain possession, doesn't look comfortable in this set up
-
Has he fallen out with him or does Cooper just not want to have to allow for his lack of pace? Faes looks more comfortable with Okoli even if Okoli doesn't always convince in possession.
