I agree from a moral point of view who cares, but where do you draw the line - sounds like it was a watch and bound to be some other stuff. Stringers got some semi decent advice and the BBC will end up settling with him, probably for a decent sum of money - maybe 6 months pay or more - depends how good his laywer is. I can imagine he isn't earning much being a bit part for talksport and doing guest speaker stuff so the money will be welcome.
