  1. Behave. May be abysmal from an attacking point of view but Marti has largely been dealt that hand and trying to work with it. Only being able to bring in loan players and work with that rabble, is not a great position to be in. BDCR, Ayew and Daka can't score 10 goals a season between then under any manager. That being said, I personally don't get his infatuation with playing Soumaré and/or Skipp.
  2. No, we shouldn't go up. And we shouldn't have gone up last time, we all saw what happened there and rightfully choose to pretend it never happened. It was the season of nightmares, caused by incompetence across the club and a very premature promotion. If we somehow get promoted, this side would get absolutely annihilated, and there are no guarantees about investment in the squad. A couple of seasons in the Championship wilderness, is sadly what this club needs.
  3. Diving already, you're better than this Jeremy! Or if you're going to dive, don't do it way before you reach the player you're trying to get past... Oh, and don't get hurt whilst doing it. He will learn from this. Still a great attacking threat as a sub tonight.
  4. That was a honking attacking performance but we somehow snatched a point, which we take gladly and move on. The goal threat conundrum continues.
  5. Build up play is okay, but barely any end product. How we were 4th before today is anybody's guess.
  6. Tonight's ref is putting his name forward... Very inconsistent.
  7. What an attacking conundrum we have. Was talking to my Dad about this yesterday, and the consensus was that we are not even that good, barely clicking, but still 4th. To summarise... How crap is this league to be in this position of fluking the wins we have, or how good is our manager to keep squeezing the best out of this lot? We should be mid-table and we know it. I predicted mid-table at the end of the season and I'm sticking by that based on what I've seen this season, regardless of the results we have produced.
  8. 6. Good: Backup keeper acquired in Asmir Begovic, albeit one that I hope we will never need. Enough said about that, we could have done better with this, but here we are. Desperately-needed striker acquired in Julian Carranza, albeit on loan and with a questionable record from Feyenoord. That said, it's no worse than what we have now, so let's see what he can do. He will have a clean slate, but may need to time to bed in so we need to be patient with him. Two decent young players, both with points to prove, hopefully they will take off and really enhance our midfield which is begging for creativity. Over to you JJ Mk2 and Ramsey! Cleared out some god-awful deadwood, some with expiring contracts. Other players sold for higher than expected fees such as James Justin. Leeds got rinsed there...ha. Helped us stave off the claws of PSR who are always waiting to tear chunks out of us. Finally let Vardy go, he got his farewell, but we need those expensive wages back in our pocket rather than his. Good luck in Italy, Jamie. Cons: Couldn't get any meaningful interest for Daka, Soumaré, Faes or Winks. The latter two now need to ditch the sulking and get on with it. Striker remains a concern despite the deadline day arrival of Julian Carranza. This is my biggest concern of all. I fear the deadline day arrivals will direct some of the heat away from the hierarchy if those signings do well. The fickle fanbase cannot be allowed to forget how this club has rapidly deteriorated over the last few years, and it is their fault. Rudkin probably feels a lot safer and now the pressure shifts towards Cifuentes to produce the goods on the pitch.
  9. It was nearly enough a 1/10 first thing this morning, because we managed to sign an ageing backup keeper for Stolarcyzk. And unfortunately, he still is our backup. We were heading towards probably our worst transfer window. Three inbound loan signings in the right areas later, its a 6/10. Carranza's stats are nothing to write home about, BUT he could defy all that after the international break and it might help spur Daka and Ayew into actually scoring goals. The other two are exciting prospects and look forward to see what they can do. Over to you once again, Marti.
  10. I think his £90k weekly salary will help him sleep at night.
  11. Come on, someone please take Faes or Winks. Pleeeeeaaassse.
  12. More like hoped and prayed.
  13. How about Bamford on £80k a week?
  14. Oi, stop bumping this thread just to give us all hope.
  15. Given his recent antics, even Admin seems a bit pissed. That takes something.
  16. I get the impression that your memory has become very recently selective.
  17. May be a few late departures (Winks, Faes) to go along with El Khannouss. Can just feel it. In terms of arrivals, it's the season-long loan of Carranza and that's about it. And there will even be some that call that a good result. Oh, how far we have fallen.
  18. That's that then, close thread and move on. We've got Begovic as back-up anyway...
  19. It's funny how a perception changes once someone makes it clear that they want out. Has gone from being a real prospect and one of the most skilled players in our squad, to "average at times" and "not bothered to see him go" and we would rather pocket the cash. Football is such a fickle sport.
  20. For a dominant Scottish team which practically walk to the title every season, this is stupidly cheap (in our terms). Even Rangers have paid slightly more for Tore André Flo from Chelsea back in 2000. Shows that you don't need to spend much on the north side of the border to actually win something.
  21. Every time I've thought that this season we end up winning.
  22. BEK is gone surely. Soumare still the chosen one. 💀
  23. Please tell me Jonas has a brother. We would make him famous and put his name in the papers, hopefully for the right reasons. But I can't answer that right now, probably rumour mill fodder.
  24. Of course! We charge top dollar when we sell, we pay even more when we buy! That is the Rudkin way.
