The Most Embarrassing Thing Any Leicester Owners Have Done...
Bezzanator89 replied to StanSP's topic in Leicester City Forum
Think the farcical back-to-back permanent managerial appointments of Martin "Mad Dog" Allen, Gary Megson and Ian Holloway was a year-long low point. Cheers for that MM. -
Ha, just when I thought this whole excursion couldn't be any more of a waste of precious time and resources, this happens. Should have just stayed at home. Coventry will surely fancy their chances at this rate.
-
I had £35m maximum for Barnes, if we get an offer for £50m, that lucky club will find their hands being snapped clean off.

It's a sideways move when clubs in the Premier League come calling. And the likes of Everton/Forest are making noises from a league higher than us. Piroe, like most footballers, would only want to move upwards, given the opportunity. If there is substance to this so-called swap deal with Everton, with Ellis Simms going the other way, I struggle to see how we can compete with that. Still being realistic, thinking that we are not the destination for Joel Piroe.

Expectations now for the new season?
Bezzanator89 replied to VegasFoxes's topic in Leicester City Forum
I was getting nervous about the lack of transfer activity prior to the emergence of the Winks/Coady transfer rumours. Even getting Enzo Maresca took longer than it should have done, but maybe I need to accept that City's wheeling and dealings are becoming characteristically slow, drawn-out affairs. And this came back to haunt us when we are scrambling around for last-minute deals and panic buys. Moving to the present day, the movement on transfers is still typically slow. And we will need at least another 3 to 4 transfers to make this window, a good one. The two new transfers have eased worries but we need to keep the finger on the pulse and keep faces coming in. Fans are a lot less tolerant of the board these days, and becoming increasingly frustrating with the club's lack of direction and strategy, with Rudkin still seemingly bulletproof. All this in mind, a statement is needed, otherwise I can't see us immediately returning to the Premier League next season. -
We are not exactly in FFP's good books right now, and his wages are far too high. I've not seen anything to suggest he will stay on a lower wage, and who'd want to move to Saudi Arabia anyway? The GOAT he may be, but Vardy is sadly now in an accelerating decline, and is not worthy of a £140k/week salary in anyone's books. Either take the pay cut that should be taken, or he needs to move on.
-
Well how about that... If there ever was a reason for us getting relegated, it was to get Callum Doyle and help him achieve his potential. 'Twas written in the stars.
-
He's still above Ward even when recovering from surgery. Gerrimin already.
-
We've brought it on ourselves. And Vincent Kompany probably has quite a bit more pull than us at the moment with an impressive Burnley squad riding the crest of a promotion wave. It's best we get used to being overlooked in favour of Premier League sides, because this won't be the last time.
-
Going to put my realistic head on here. It's an inevitability that Joel Piroe is leaving Swansea, they know it too given he has only one year left. Two productive seasons in front of goal will draw a lot of attention, and I can only see him moving up the football pyramid rather than a sideways move. The only way he will sign for Leicester, is if he buys into Enzo's vision and he is an automatic starter on matchdays ahead of the likes of Daka, Iheanacho and Vardy. Otherwise, this thread may as well be closed to stop us all hoping, and trust me, this would be a statement signing for a promotion push.
-
Third is most likely someone's leg.
-
Come on, let's get this done. 41 goals in 2 seasons screams a promotion chasing player in the making.
-
Fully expecting TC to leave this summer, he will want European football. Was great at first, especially when he and JJ could swap full-back positions, but he has been poor for a while now, so I'd take €15-20m all day long and wish him well.

How do People Think We’ll do Next Season
Bezzanator89 replied to WigstonWanderer's topic in Leicester City Forum
By default, expecting a mass exodus and still not appointed a manager, I cannot give us any higher than top half in our current state. Could well go down in my current estimations if we continue to drag our heels on the managerial front. -
I agree, somewhat. He was clearly good at what he did but was overlooked a lot of the time. Mendy was not wired the same way as Ndidi and Soumaré, was a little more forward thinking and we really needed that little more positive play in the middle of the park. The other two just played us into trouble, caused unnecessary pressure and in worse cases, goals conceded. One of many managerial mistakes this season.
-
He deserved more game-time than what he had. Peak Ndidi was better, mind you, but over the last 2-3 years, Mendy should have been first choice CDM as Ndidi's performances started to spiral.
-
Looks like it. Either he didn't want to play in the Championship or we are really having to cut costs. I'd have preferred to keep him at the club.
-
I know we, as human beings, are always curious to find new ways of showing the same information, or how to portray it in a different light. Kinda done with this now. We massively underachieved, we know. We will be having a mass exodus this summer, we know. We have been relegated, we ****ing know. Enough with the analysis, telling us things we already know!
-
Just think that one of these lot is one of the best CDMs in some cartoon universe. I'd say the blue one.
-
Out: Jon Rudkin (released) In: Ron Judkin (free agent, contract until 2099)
-
Even if we wanted him, we can no longer afford him. And there will be better options elsewhere, either in the prem or abroad.
-
I think it might be Tuesday based on the general consensus. And are we going to keep doing topics like this? On Sunday, will there a topic to the tune of "One week on..." with the same questions and answers?
-
That statement doesn't scream the words, "Don't panic, we have a plan". It more says, "We will continue to do what we have done for the last couple of years and just wing it, and Jon Rudkin will stay". I, like many of you, do not condone abusive messages. But I am worried for our long term plan now, the bulk of the squad is leaving, and we need a new manager/backroom staff, and people need sacking. Should not have taken this long to make a statement. Once again brings into question his ability to run this club properly, and this summer could very much make or break whether the King Power ownership has any legs left, only time will tell.
-
Agreed, but at the same time, I can't really say that events like these will be met warmly or attended by masses of people given what happened yesterday.

You're not going to like what's coming.
