I can't believe you are still going on about Cambiasso Col. People will forget how wrong you were if you stop going on about it.

Look at the stats..I wasn't..

And you think Joey Barton is a good player, so I ain't listening to ya.

Same could be said of you and your lover boy Lee Cattermole.

Grow up lad. The Barton shout is barmy, as you well know.

People let the fact he's a massive **** effect their view on his footballing ability. He's a good player but his attitude and history count massively against him.

Joey Barton is a terrible shout and an awful footballer, I'd rather we extended Dean Hammond's contract then signed him.

To be fair ginge, a couple of seasons ago I'd have agreed with you. Now.....nah, he's just not very good. Leroy Fer (though also overrated really) is better than Barton now, I'd suggest. And I wouldn't want him anymore either.

I must have now said possibly a hundred times that Cattermole was the type of player the club needed. I say once more...the type of player. It don't have to be him does it. I have no affinity toward him. Others have suggested some names on this thread which may be better options. Jedinak being a good shout.

A bit of midfield steel, to be played as and when needed. Not Cattermole? Fine...but others would benefit the team IMO.

I never said we should sign him. I said he was a good player but people let the fact he's a massive bellend cloud judging his ability.

Barton really isn't a bad shout either. People are going to hate the guy regardless but in pure footballing terms he's a decent player

Would be more than happy to sign any of the following assuming Nige was able to get them to buy into our way of playing.

Jedinak

Dembele

Bradley Johnson

Diame

Huddlestone

Barton

Personally think some of the suggestions here are way above our station. Sorry if that makes me sound a snob in anyway or not ambitious.

Nige's past track record suggests that players towards the end of their contracts are targets to which we will scout across Europe for. (Okazaki) There will be a priority of players with PL experience hence Jedinak is a decent shout. Anyone think we can pinch a player off the likes of Swansea, particularly their key assets is barking up the wrong tree. We will probably have a wage maximum set a little higher than it is currently and the likes of Stoke/Swansea are better positioned than us. Similar the likes of Kramer, Volland are all internationals and a move to here threatens that. Cattermole, not a chance as Nige couldn't trust him. Would he want to leave a club where hes nearby from to join a club on equal footing? Add Barton and Huddlestone to that category too.

We are only in a tad better position than the three promoted teams. Could be attractive to top players of the Championship but feel PL quality is small pickings in that division currently. They may be a target as well to lower our average age a little. I'd be very weary of signing relegated players. Damaged goods - all indications are that the prized assets of Ings and Austin are considerations for clubs in a better position.

How is stating a fact condescending? There is literally a handful of teams in that league who are of Premier League standard, the rest would get destroyed in the Premier League. The point I made was extremely valid in response to the post it was directed at I feel. Scoring 20 goals a season in that league is much easier then scoring the same amount in the Premier League.

Course Ligue 1 is scraping Championship standard bar two or three sides. Course it bloody is.

It's like people have forgotten two of our most skilled and exciting players in recent years who have made a fantastic impact with us were unheard ofs from Ligue 2.

Have been impressed with Alexander Kačaniklić when I watched him, strong and good agility, but perhaps more attack-minded than defensive and hence wouldn't fill area Cambiasso has been in (if he does leave).

lol I bet that's what Chris Ramsay said to Joey Barton after we dismantled QPR.

Considering he was their best player on the day I doubt it.

For every Riyad Mahrez there is a Yann Kermorgant. My point is that not every player is guaranteed to be a success, and it is harder now for any potential signing to be a success because of the standard of league we are playing in.

No, fair enough. Those stats are favourable.

Has Huddlestone really not scored a single goal all season?

It all depends what you think of stats I guess. I'm quite a fan of them. There's a lot of such and such is great and such and such isn't, then you actually study the key stats and it gives you a different picture.

i think there's less chance of Pearson signing Barton, however, than Cattermole! lol

There are better options available I reckon, if Cambiasso were to leave and he was replaced with this guy I'd be so underwhelmed, I honestly rate Dean Hammond more. He's Championship level in my opinion.

Dean Hammond is not half the player Joey Barton is. Barton has spent his career in the Premier League aside from 2 lone seasons in the Championship at Newcastle and QPR plus a season at Marseille. He will always be discredited because of how he is as a person but as a footballer he is massively underrated.

Also I never implied that Leicester City should sign Barton.
