foxfanazer Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 They've got to be better than what we already have IMO. James Chester..is he better than Wes, Was (or hopefully Huth)? I don't think so. I'd take Austin...I think he's a better finisher than Nugent, Ulloa and possibly Vardy. I'd take Cattermole (no surprise there) as I think he's better than anything we have at being a DM (all depending on whether we WANT a DM)? Friend is certainly no better than Schlupp. Leadbitter no better than Drinkwater. I'd also take Trippier. I think he's better than RDL. That's the kind of thing I'm saying. To kick-on, we need to be considering clear improvements on what we have already. We don't need to do what we did last season and just go for squad replacements, in some instances. Didn't you suggest Leadbitter? And drop the Cattermole thing mate. The man is a walking red card and Nigel wouldn't sign such a loose cannon
4everfox Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 Stoke linked with a potential move for Konoplyanka. We should look to hijack this transfer. Deluded you say, not really considering Stoke are being linked. If they are big enough then we definitely are too.

Deluded you say, not really considering Stoke are being linked. If they are big enough then we definitely are too. Doesn't really fit the system and we don't have a chance anyway. Stoke are a more attractive proposition than us at the moment, they are very well established in the league and a top 10 team. This would probably be a bit of a coup for them if they pull it off, don't think we could get him.

AKCJ Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 Schmeichel Morgan Huth Chester Albrighton Cambiasso Jedinak Brady/Jeff Kramaric Vardy Gingac Top 4 no probs.
WhenYourSmilingLCFC Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 If he's back to fitness Mohammed Diame could be a good shout in midfield. Always seen him as a poor mans yaya toureI mentioned him. Think he'd be ideal in our midfield. With Hull going down surely a possibility

scinnell Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 Schmeichel Morgan Huth Chester Albrighton Cambiasso Jedinak Brady/Jeff Kramaric Vardy Gingac Top 4 no probs. So you are suggesting drop our 13 goal striker for an unknown striker in England? Sounds logical.
My Nads Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 Javier Hernandez Can't make my mind up if he is unrealistic or not, but I should imagine his wages mean no chance.
AKCJ Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 So you are suggesting drop our 13 goal striker for an unknown striker in England? Sounds logical. The guy that has scored around 20 goals for Champions League chasing Marseille for the last few seasons? Yes.
conLAD logan Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 First things first, secure the services of the Magic Man and HUUUUTH for at least another season. Then focus on getting players such as Wasilewski staying for at least a year, then we can look at signings. We do need another experienced centre back, not necessarily for an instant first team spot, but one who can step up when needed and will compete for places. I'm personally happy with Schlupp at LB, but we need another who can provide very stiff competition for the good of both players. I'm not going to suggest names because I haven't looked into it myself. More essentially we need a quality centre midfielder to partner esteban (or whoever else we have there). Not a skinny little luxury playmaker as I've seen suggested, but a strong presence who can win those aerial battles and break up attacks before they even start (a lower quality Matic basically). I believe this to be the most essential part of a team except for strikers. An attacking midfielder could be useful, but not essential as Riyad has proved he's more than capable of producing, plus Nuge can slot in there. No more average strikers! We bought Kramaric for what 9 million and didn't get much in return. However a full pre season and some more time with NP should help, and then we have 4 well drilled strikers who ended up scoring 19 goals in 9 games during our great escape which was fantastic. (Just gonna drop in that I have a huge amount of admiration for Shane Long and would cut off my left testicle to see him at the King Power, despite what I just said ) Phew....finished jedinak is that lower level matic
conLAD logan Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 So you are suggesting drop our 13 goal striker for an unknown striker in England? Sounds logical. agreed, I'd keep ulloa in the starting line up as surely he can only improve on that goals record with albrighton playing a full season hopefully and getting more crosses onto ulloa's head
conLAD logan Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 Capoue was a player we enquires about along with Aaron Lennon, will pearson still be after them?
4everfox Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 The guy that has scored around 20 goals for Champions League chasing Marseille for the last few seasons? Yes. Bar five or six teams, the French top division is barely Championship level. Gignac is basically playing in a Premier League standard team against Huddersfield every week, frankly any of our strikers would score more if they were in his predicament.
TJB-fox Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 Mentioned Capoue before, would absolutely love this signing. Take a few of the Spurs boys; Kaboul, Capoue, Alex Pritchard

I think he's got a point there, although I wouldn't formulate it that drastically. A rather large chunk of teams in Ligue 1 are somewhat Championship-standard. Maybe not two thirds, but surely about one third. Keep in mind the Championship is the best second tier in the world - so the theoretical thought of the Top Ten Championship teams being able to compete in France isn't that far-fetched.
Joe the Fox Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 Mentioned Capoue before, would absolutely love this signing. Take a few of the Spurs boys; Kaboul, Capoue, Alex Pritchard Capoue is one I was gutted never went anywhere last summer, would still take him in a heartbeat, and Pritchard would be a great signing, just doubt Tottenham would let go of him
CloudFox Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 jedinak is that lower level matic Have to agree, Jedinak and Diame would be very good options alongside Cambiasso (should he sign). It all depends on if we sign Cambiasso though (Please, pretty please, Football Gods!!) I think if we sign Camby and Huth then we need the following, in order of priority: LWB/LB = Brady CB = Chester/C. Davies DM = Jedinak/Diame Winger = ??? AMC=??? Other than that, Van Aanholt seems to have played well for Sunderland this season, but I can't suggest him. His throw-in for us away against Reading a few years ago still gives me nightmares...

UnsureHow many times has Cattermole been sent off this season?
foxfanazer Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 Go back thru the thread mate. Leadbitter I've always liked..Prem quality? Unsure How many times has Cattermole been sent off this season? Dunno but he's got the record amount of yellows in a premier league and is certainly well known for a sending off. Don't really think we need someone like that personally

At least, recent stats.

I just don't think we can afford to have a player that is constantly picking up suspensions.

Stadt Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 Christoph Kramer Would be fantastic in midfield for us He would yeah but theres no way would he leave, Gladbach have got CL football after a brilliant season, according to this website he's on a decent wedge too. http://www.celebritiesmoney.com/christoph-kramer-salary-net-worth-defensive-midfield-of-borussia-monchengladbach/
