Talking of Riyads pals what about Bentaleb? How's he doing spurs?

He's their first choice centre mid.

Bar five or six teams, the French top division is barely Championship level. Gignac is basically playing in a Premier League standard team against Huddersfield every week, frankly any of our strikers would score more if they were in his predicament.

Lets stick Lille against Huddersfield and see how they get on.

The ignorance of foreign leagues, even the likes of France, given English teams' continued ineptitude in European competition amazes me.

France is a great place to buy players from. The league's only fairly weak because no teams hang onto their players due to lack of money. It produces far more quality than England though.

I think we should try and buy Andrew Robertson from Hull. I think he will become a top 4 player in time.

I've been saying this since they've gone down. Influences the game an awful lot from left back & received a lot of reviews from pundits this year. I hope we get one of Robertson or Mings would strengthen us a lot.

I would include Lille in the top few teams in that division, stick Metz against Huddersfield and see how they get on. I haven't said France is a bad place to buy players from, in fact I agree with you when you say its a great place to buy players from but for every Mahrez there is a Kermorgant.

He's just played a key role in getting a team promoted to the Premier League.....

I'm referring to when we signed him from France and he was pretty poor. Bournemouth signed him from Charlton and are his third club in England.

Was just about to say this.

I never rated him much at City but since he left us he's scored pretty much everywhere he's gone.

I never got the joke of Kermo being 'decent' either. He is a decent footballer. Fair play, he cocked that penalty up good and proper.

Whether he can cut it in the Prem remains to be seen.

The same Kermorgant who will be playing in the Premier League next season?

Yeah that's him, the one that was dreadful when he first got over here. Fair play to him on adapting to English football but when he was signed from France he was proven to be a pretty bad signing for us. If you compare the immediate impact of Mahrez and Kermorgant then the huge difference in quality is for all to see. That's the point I'm trying to make. There are plenty of players who switch France for England that are pretty terrible signings, a lot worse then Kermorgant.

Jonathan Walters is a pearson signing, his experience would be key to our squad next year in attempting to avoid second season syndrome.
