steveherbe Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Looks like my favourite left back in the Championship has certainly made an impression today judging by twitter etc. Tell you, George Friend would be a bargain buy for us. Watched him closely today, and decided he wasnt a patch on our Jeff. No significant contribution - in my opinion - and his defence conceeded two goals. Its a no from me I'm afraid.
sdb Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Friend looked awful to me. Maybe a rare off day but not impressed at all.

No significant contribution - in my opinion - and his defence conceeded two goals. Its a no from me I'm afraid. That's fine chap (and SDB) - everyone to their own. I didn't see all the game unfortunately today, been too busy but from what I did see he looked aggressive going forward and lots of other people made positive remarks elsewhere online hence my original remark. He usually makes a positive impact in games but I suppose when you are in a game like, winner takes all, hard to judge anyone I feel. That even goes for the winning squads - think we will have a relatively busy summer though. Not wholesale changes but definite improvements.
kingfox Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Friend was shit because he was left isolated because Tomlin kept roaming inside. Good left-back one of the best in the Championship.
FoxTrott Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Can see us going in for James Chester again now Hull are down. Will probably want Prem football. Pearson has persued before, knows how to play a back three. Would certainly take him for cover / still quite young for a Centre Half.
4everfox Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 You could well be right. I've got the feeling that Chester will be the 'go to' should we not land Huth. Pearson does rate him, having signed him for Hull. There was that time when Hull chucked their toys out of the pram and wouldn't deal with us. Doubt that'll apply now, they'll be busy trying to slash their wage bill and would imagine the player would rather come here than stay put! If we don't sign Huth then we will need someone much, much better then Chester. Maybe Jonny Evans.
Bettsj2 Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Would be devastated to end up with Chester instead of Huth.
Stevosevic Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 We only have two CBs on our books confirmed for next season. Even if Huth and Was sign again, that would give us 4 with Morgan and Moore. We'll still need another CB if we want to play 3 at the back

We'll still need another CB if we want to play 3 at the back I don't think Moore will be here but I'd be reasonably satisfied with Huth, Morgan, Wasilewski, Thorpe and Chester.
dbtcity Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 ****ing hope not Why do you hope not? Think he would be well suited to our team, ready made replacement for cambiasso if he was to leave with his range of passing vardy would have a field day with him pinging balls through to him, or spraying it to the wings for mahrez and co

Would never fit into our style at all.
GingerrrFox Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Slow, cumbersome and absolutely shite. Would never fit into our style at all. Yeah sure!
FoxTrott Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Why would people be so devestated with Chester? He's a good defender. Yes, Huth has been monolithic for us and he should definitely be getting a year or two contract from us, but he isn't getting any younger. Neither are Was, Wes. I think Chester would be a great acquisition.
Callabinho Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Arslan Tolgay. He would be a perfect for us, creative, combative and can chip in with a goal or two.
CosbehFox Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Friend was shit because he was left isolated because Tomlin kept roaming inside. Good left-back one of the best in the Championship. Not the type of athlete to play left back in PL. Perfectly decent at Champ level.
General Smuts Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Arslan Tolgay. He would be a perfect for us, creative, combative and can chip in with a goal or two. I don't wanna hear narnia suggestions any more.
TimG Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Chester would be good as well as Huth I think. André Martins of Sporting is a decent attacking midfielder from what I've seen and I don't think he's first choice there - could compete with Mahrez for that spot behind the strikers maybe.
les-tah Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 If Estaban goes, lets go 100 for Pirlo, on a similar deal to that which Cambiasso was signed. Unrealistic?? Yes, but so was EC twelve months ago ! Doubt it will happen.... But we do play the same formation as Juventus now so Pirlo would no exactly what role to play in when he gets here
Fez of Mahrez Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Andoni Iraola available on a free from Athletic Bilbao. 33, but we know Nige likes adding experience and the club track out of contract players across Europe.

iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 I think we played in a poor quality premier league this season and as much as we deserved to stay up in the end, we were lucky to have some showers around us. Therefore additions are needed - let's not risk cutting it so fine next time. Oh and never revert back to entering every game so defensive. Get rid: Schwarzer - Hamer is more than capable Upson - seems to have gone under the radar that we improved dramatically without him. Knockaert- no longer needed De Laet - not good enough for me Simpson - don't need the drama Wood - no longer needed Hammond - as above Ideal signings: Huth - deserves a contract - well done that man! Austin - without wood we'd need another striker. I think anything around 10m for Austin would be a good buy. Vardy & Ulloa are fine, Nugent would be a fringe player, and give Kramaric chance to prove himself. Those 4 with added quality of Austin would be good options. Another mobile centre half - no suggestions Trippier - an improvement on our right backs. Matt Phillips - replace knocky Huddlestone - no one is going to match Esteban, but he'd be a reasonable CM. 7 out 6 in for me realistically

De Laet's been fantastic recently I've thought, against Chelsea he was our best player. Can definitely offer something next season, whether it's as back-up wingback or starting right back.
