joedawg Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 Wooooooooooooooooooosh That or this forum isn't as witty as I gave it credit for. Its not a woooooosh thing, his name is put down as a serious replacement many times throughout many threads. Either that or my sense of humour and sarcasm has dropped big time
Guest Col city fan Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 They've got to be better than what we already have IMO. James Chester..is he better than Wes, Was (or hopefully Huth)? I don't think so. I'd take Austin...I think he's a better finisher than Nugent, Ulloa and possibly Vardy. I'd take Cattermole (no surprise there) as I think he's better than anything we have at being a DM (all depending on whether we WANT a DM)? Friend is certainly no better than Schlupp. Leadbitter no better than Drinkwater. I'd also take Trippier. I think he's better than RDL. That's the kind of thing I'm saying. To kick-on, we need to be considering clear improvements on what we have already. We don't need to do what we did last season and just go for squad replacements, in some instances.
nixdas Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 Lets go for the following: Khedira Milner Dani Alves Andre Ayew Gignac Van Der Vaart They are have their contracts expire end of June! Seriously though.. How much do you think Van Der Vaart would command as a wage? He has proven that he can play in the PL and he did ok for Tottenham.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 Has to be Huth at CB, but wouldn't mind James Chester from Hull; plus our Nige knows him

Wymsey Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 Wouldn't mind Swansea's Michu, with the season he had with them, if Wood goes.
lestalee Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 Apparently hunterlaar's contracts up at schalke he'd be good competition for ulloa,he's 31 got the experience.
Richard Kingson Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 People suggesting Austin: get real. The bloke isn't going to a middling team like us after the season he's just had. Would cost well over £10m too. And Huntelaar?! The bloke was playing Champions League football and scoring against Real Madrid this season.
Richard Kingson Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 Oh, and Van der Vaart is toss and all. Not worth it and I seriously doubt Pearson would go for his type. Negative quashing over.
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 Daryl Murphy as a replacement for Wood anyone? Send him the opposite direction plus a bit of cash. Has incredible work rate & strength plus an eye for goal. Think people on here are getting far to carried away. Murphy is another upgrade to our squad & very realistic

Danno Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 Can't believe Daryl Murphy scored that many goals last season. He's utter shite.
ChuckLCFC Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 First things first, secure the services of the Magic Man and HUUUUTH for at least another season. Then focus on getting players such as Wasilewski staying for at least a year, then we can look at signings. We do need another experienced centre back, not necessarily for an instant first team spot, but one who can step up when needed and will compete for places. I'm personally happy with Schlupp at LB, but we need another who can provide very stiff competition for the good of both players. I'm not going to suggest names because I haven't looked into it myself. More essentially we need a quality centre midfielder to partner esteban (or whoever else we have there). Not a skinny little luxury playmaker as I've seen suggested, but a strong presence who can win those aerial battles and break up attacks before they even start (a lower quality Matic basically). I believe this to be the most essential part of a team except for strikers. An attacking midfielder could be useful, but not essential as Riyad has proved he's more than capable of producing, plus Nuge can slot in there. No more average strikers! We bought Kramaric for what 9 million and didn't get much in return. However a full pre season and some more time with NP should help, and then we have 4 well drilled strikers who ended up scoring 19 goals in 9 games during our great escape which was fantastic. (Just gonna drop in that I have a huge amount of admiration for Shane Long and would cut off my left testicle to see him at the King Power, despite what I just said ) Phew....finished
Max Power Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 Would take Jedinak and Mulumbu. Both have been told they can leave. Good additions to the midfield I reckon. And Pirlo obvs
Brown Fox Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 If he's back to fitness Mohammed Diame could be a good shout in midfield. Always seen him as a poor mans yaya toure
Spicer Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 Midfielders- Jordy Clasie, Miles Jedinak, Van Ginkel, Nuri Şahin Strikers- Hernandez, only has one year eft on his contract. Defenders- HUTH!
Brooksy Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 Apparently hunterlaar's contracts up at schalke he'd be good competition for ulloa,he's 31 got the experience. Great shout. I'd love him here
Sydney Fox Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 Would love Jedinak. Still think he has plenty to offer.
Steve Earle Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 Would love Jedinak. Still think he has plenty to offer.Agreed! He'd combine well with Magic...and tho' press have WBA as favourites because of the Pulis connection, you'd have to wonder whether they'd really want him given that they have Fletcher in the same position, and as captain...
Ric Flair Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 If he's back to fitness Mohammed Diame could be a good shout in midfield. Always seen him as a poor mans yaya toure Yes please, one of the most under-rated midfielders i've seen in the PL in the last few seasons. It's no coincidence Hull badly suffered when he got injured.
Foxymcoxy Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 Agree Diame would fit in well if we can keep him healthy. Might be worth a punt as that sort of player is just what we need.
