Merging Cultures Posted 21 May 2015 Posted 21 May 2015 35m if Cambiasso stays, 39m if he leaves... GK - Schmeichel GK - Hamer GK - Schwarzer RB - De Laet RB - GBP4m, to replace Simpson and improve on De Laet LB - Konchesky LB - GBP4m, we don't play with L/RB's at the moment, but we need options for formations CB - Morgan CB - Moore CB - Wasilewski CB - Huth (GBP4m), pay it and get him in quick RM - Albrighton RM - Mahrez LM - Schlupp LM - GBP7m, we all love Schlupp and he will continue to improve, but we probably need two players for each position in case of injuries, and if we buy, we should look to improve on what we have CM - Drinkwater CM - James CM - King CM - Cambiasso (another GBP4m if he leaves, which I hope he doesn't) CM - GBP8m, another quality CM to either play along side Cambiasso (now James is out) or step in and take over from where he left off ST - Nugent ST - Vardy ST - Krameric ST - Ulloa ST - GBP8m, we need another high quality striker if we are playing 3-4-3/3-4-1-2 However, with high prices often come high salaries, and I am not sure we'd pay them.
JonesLCFC Posted 21 May 2015 Posted 21 May 2015 Read this as pearsons version of wenger. He won't waste it but it's there if needed. Huth for a max of 4 million and esteban's now 1 million a month is 16 before we start. We will see pearson hold this squad together in the main and add when he can. Pearson manages this club top to bottom and has placed so many things for the long term. Kev Phillips interview spoke volumes when he said injured players got fit as to just train with the legend. Nige sorted that. This club is in safe hands not sven hands. I very much doubt Esteban will be on 250k a week! haha Edit: Although If I had my way he'd be on 250k a day.
dorsetboy Posted 21 May 2015 Posted 21 May 2015 Am I the only one who thinks that no matter how much we bid huth won't come he came here to get back to fitness and show what he can and he has done that ten fold and I can almost safely say there will be bigger clubs come in for him now than us

Does the red not help highlight where I say LB - GBP4m, we don't play with L/RB's at the moment, but we need options for formationsST - GBP8m, we need another high quality striker if we are playing 3-4-3/3-4-1-2 Only thing I'd change is probably another CB in addition to Huth. We probably need 5 not 4. At which point, I'd probably sacrifice Konch.
Guest Posted 21 May 2015 Posted 21 May 2015 He'd still not be my favourite Argentinian at the club... I agree. Ulloa all the way!

sylofox Posted 21 May 2015 Posted 21 May 2015 Don't know about everyone else but aside from the obvious not wanting to endanger the club I really like the way we are trying to build up the club. The Thais are clearly minted but we aren't going to do a Man City and go mad buying expensive players that could just be big time charlies and that wouldn't really be us. Give me a Vardy over a ballotelli I'd have Fryup or Waggy over Ballotelli.

Merging Cultures Posted 21 May 2015 Posted 21 May 2015 I'm sorry are you saying konchesky is a left back?I heard a rumour, I'm not convinced though.
Mayofox Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Daily Express says we're interested in Tom Thorpe, 22 yr old Manchester Utd defender
foxfanazer Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 If nige says he is spending big that immediately inflates the market. He can't rele say anything other than deny he wants to spend lots of money !Exactly this. Would be stupid to come out and say we want to spend 50m this summer. All of a sudden your £10m targets cost you £15m
dedlock Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Merging doesn't reflect Konch & Was both being out of contract. If you add those to 7 in his list we potentially are looking at 9 incoming, thats an awful lot of frees if we are not going to spend big.
David Hankey Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Have we any real need to spend big. As far as I can see the squad needs tweaking with some departures and maybe a couple of players coming in. We do not need wholesale changes as we have not performed badly over the season. We have not been outclassed by anyone and we have not been thumped heavily by anyone. The players seem to have the belief now that they can become at the top level and have risen to the occasion with a great attitude. The dark days have gone and we can look forward with confidence to a new season which bodes well for the future of this Club.
