How can a game with fake names be the best game of all time? We are called East Midlands for Christ sake. About as real as Forests promotion chances. Fifa will always win for me hands down, purely for the realism.

Sod the names and kits and badges, you could get option files that sorted all that anyway.

Sod the names and kits and badges, you could get option files that sorted all that anyway. To be fair, I used to prefer PES around that time because of the gameplay, and I did have a disc to correct the names. However, I think the recent Fifa's blow them out the water now in terms of being the best ever football game.

If we're talking having great memories of playing the game as a kid then that's a lot different. It'd be like me saying player manager/LMA 2007 on playstation werethe best management games ever. Great memories of waking my parents up at 3am after clinching promotion with Charlton for the first time, but they're a long way from FM.

To be fair your logic is seriously flawed. You put licensing over gameplay? Don't get me wrong I'd much rather it had it but it's FIFA I've had enough with, in terms of principle either way, I can't bring myself to hand over any more money to a game that repeats its mistakes and makes far smaller improvements than it could. Someone made a great point earlier but I can't remember the last time I turned FIFA off and wasn't annoyed. Even when I win it winds me up at times. FIFA could be excellent but it puts that bit more money over that so it's not for me. At least PES is more bothered about the actual football. I do find it scripted to a point and there are things that never get fixed, but overall, I think it wins hands down. For me, its the overall experience and I can immerse myself in FIFA. Playing with Leicester in the KP looks incredibly real. With PES, I just don't have the same connection and cant get into it.

The KP looks super realistic which is cool - we actually have an in game stadium! Only thing I don't like so far is how slow we are in game

I think I was fifa till 1998, then went ISS/PES Until 2009 when I tried Fifa again and felt it was a better game. Need to give the new PES a go. Used to love Master League.

Then it was shit till FIFA 2010. Pro Evo 5 and 6 were the best football games though. Went downhill when it moved to PS3.

Last season there was an update for faces mid season but it was mostly promoted clubs so we can only hope.
